CHARACTER

Name: Cerise Regina-Cor

Name Meaning: Pink Queen-Heart (Based around the Queen of Hearts)

Name Pronunciation... Sheh-ree-se Reh-g-eena-Cor
Nicknames... Under any circumstance, any nicknames given to her will cause an instant hatred to fall upon the person that used it. In the past she has been called 'Cher', including many other cutsey nicknames to do with her hair colour.

Age: 18 (Born on the 13th day of the 1st month)

Gender: Female

Symbol:

The above symbol is emblazed on the handle of her weapon, and is fashioned in the form of a pin that holds the ribbon at her back in place. Lesser heart symbols cover most of her clothing and accessories.

Occupation: Student of Beacon Academy

Appearance:
Height… 5’7”
Weight… 131lbs
Eye colour… Light brown/ hazel
Hair colour… Rich pink
Hair length… Just past shoulders. She has two small pigtails tied with black ribbon at both sides of her head

Cerise is slightly taller than the average height for a young woman, which holds no real novelty beyond it being unusual and a little unexpected due to how ‘cutesy’ she appears. Her build is slight and slender, and while she doesn’t possess huge assets, she has curves in such places that make her pleasing to the eye. Her skin is milky white in colour, which makes her hair colour even more prominent. Her face is particularly youthful, coupled with her large hazel eyes, she appears to be younger than she actually is. This fact is not helped by her choice of clothing, which is wonderfully pretty and frilly, not to mention intricate and painstakingly chosen. While it flatters her slender figure and clinches attractively at the waist, there is no doubt that it appears a little… childish. This was the most prominent feature about her, being likened to a ‘little girl’ to her classmates and all that otherwise meet her.

What she tries her best to hide, however, is the odd pair of white pointed and very fluffy ears atop her head. She has never been ashamed of what she is, but has instead chosen to hide her identity to stop the hassle that comes with being pinpointed as a Faunus. She is related to the Red Panda, and has ears as such protruding on the top of her head. The ears of a Red Panda are further spaced than most animals with ears, and as such this explains her otherwise pointless pigtails on each side of her head. The bunches of hair manage to hide her ears effectively, and she has specifically styled it to suit this need of hers.

Her striking attire can be seen in full below, but otherwise adheres to the following description. It consists of; a long-sleeved two tonal white and red shirt which is laced with crimson down the long billowing sleeves, a lilac butterfly style broach clasps at her chest just above the corset design on the front of her shirt, a crimson ribbon tying and clinching her waist at her lower back (it is at the centre of the ribbon that her symbol is pinned), a short lilac skirt which is accented by black lace to match the numerous hearts emblazoned on her clothing, black thigh-high stockings and white ankle boots decorated with crimson ribbons. She has more casual forms of clothing alongside the typical Beacon Academy uniform, which usually follow the same colour scheme of her usual outfit. Most common among these is a pair of short dark blue denim shorts, a cropped crimson shirt, and a pair of knee-high dark brown boots. Her pyjamas even match the whole ‘heart and crimson’ theme, consisting of a short crimson t-shirt style nightdress, trimmed with lilac with heart patterns weaving their way around the neckline.

History: In a nutshell, her past was one of development. Cerise has always been used to always going out and getting things for herself, and while growing up this was no exception. She could never remember her parents, because they left her at an orphanage when she was barely two years old. It never had to be explained to her that her parents were Faunus, and she learnt quickly to hide her heritage in the orphanage to avoid being victimised. She stayed there for most of her early years, learning to grow up much quicker than she probably should have done. The younger children at the orphanage quickly became like her own brothers and sisters, and while at first the companionship was practically alien, she found herself loving the attention and the fact that others needed her. She forgot about herself and instead focused on all those around her, never stopping to think that she would need protecting any more than the youngsters that she had come to accept as family. As a girl, she was open and accepting of everyone, and highly driven by her heart. There was little to no consideration in her actions when it came to cold, hard thinking. All she did was for those around her, and her heart guided her entirely.

That was until she was adopted aged eleven.

Her foster carer (as he refused for her to call him ‘father’ or ‘dad’) was an odd sort, one that started to teach her the harsh ways of the world first-hand. He believed in the good-old fashioned method of practical realisation, so he took his new daughter down to the forest where he knew that Grimm creatures roamed free. He was far from a Hunter, but was equipped with fearsome amounts of dust that he used to go hunting the Grimm for his own amusement. To say that he was cynical would be… an understatement.

He told Cerise stories about their creation, about dust and about the Grimm. He continued to lead her into the forest, until a small pack of Ursa noticed them and took their fancy. The terrible creatures made the gentle-hearted girl freeze up in sheer fear and desperation, as she realised that she was powerless against them. All she could do was kneel and sob at the feet of her new foster father while he fought them off without breaking a sweat. When the creatures were all dead, against her many protests, she was dragged to her feet and taken to see one of the dead Ursa close up. It was here that her foster father stated that life was cruel, and their world would soon be overrun by these Grimm beings; it was an inevitability. From that day on, Cerise’s heart sealed itself away and she started to rely more on cold hard facts, much like her so-called father did. He saw her potential, however, in combat and the means to fight off the Grimm, and sent her away to an Academy where she would learn how to hone her skills.

She remained indifferent to the whole experience, because she had been forced into it, she never truly cared except to save herself from the oncoming impending doom that threatened their country. It was for that reason alone that she set her sights on becoming a Huntress, and she worked hard to accomplish that ambition, to make it a cold hard fact for her foster father to be proud of. What she lacked in emotion and actual heart-driven want, she made up for in flawless technique and strategy. She relentlessly worked night and day to perfect all of the techniques she was taught in the Academy, so that she might one day get to venture to Beacon. She became so good at what she could accomplish, that her name was a given when it came to nominating those for the Beacon Academy.

As a parting gift, her foster father had paid a lot of money for her signature weapon to be newly forged and upgraded to therefore make her stronger. While it remained unspoken between the two, she knew that he would be leaving and never returning. His cynicism had grown so great that he no longer saw the point in breathing any longer. She never did say goodbye to him, and he never learnt of her true heritage. Perhaps things would have been very different if he did.

And it was on that note that she boarded an airship and never looked back, entering Beacon Academy to fulfil the thing she saw to be her destiny.

Personality: Through conditioning brought about by her relentless and cynical foster father, Cerise has long since shut off her emotions and natural way to react to things. She no longer understands emotions and their complexity, as she is constantly set on a neutral and calm level. Socialising with others of her kind is of no concern to her, as she instead wishes to focus on what matters; becoming a Huntress. As such, she has massive tunnel-vision. She sets herself upon one goal and never wavers from it. Due to her early exposure to the darkness in their world, there isn’t much that can perturb her. Things that others find amazing or astonishing, she merely shrugs at. Unlike a lot of new students at Beacon, she does not fear the Grimm and instead welcomes their challenge. It goes without saying that she has not actually fought against any for herself, and has only perfected things in practise.

She works in a very logical way, and has a very strategic brain. She can set out plans in her mind much faster than most, and her aura allows her to see things in an even more heightened mathematically correct and precise manner. All of this aids in removing all emotion from her very being, and instead creates a rather literal empty shell.

She becomes hopeless in situations where she has to show emotion in any form, and there is a lot of emotions she doesn’t understand due to shutting them off at an early age. She has no idea what ‘love’ is, or ‘lust’ or any other romantic things that all of her age would otherwise experience. She also struggles to hear emotion in others’ voices and tones, so she can’t tell if anyone is angry with her which makes way for very tense and awkward situations. Her voice remains entirely flat and level, making her seem quite boring/ sound quite bored with everything that happens. She could very well be told that she graduated at the top of her class, and she wouldn’t sound the slightest bit excited about it. In truth, she has developed a kind of disorder which makes her exempt from feeling and understanding emotions. While it is indeed mild and brought upon through past events, not genetics, it is reversible.

Part of her very strategic mind has forged her outward appearance. She has studied numerous instances where those of the other gender appear to be weaker around ‘cute’ girls, so she purposefully styles herself as such to gain an upper hand in combat off the bat. While it may or may not work depending on the male she is fighting is by the by, as it gives her a very deceptive appearance. In battle, needless to say she is a very ruthless fighting machine. She upholds her lack of emotion and utilises her specific skillset to work at the utmost efficiency. She doesn’t deal well with teamwork, because people never follow her strategies down to a T, and therefore are a hindrance to her.

She doesn't feel the need to hide her Faunus heritage than for any other reason that it would be a distraction if others around her were able to exploit that weakness she had, because her animal ears are very sensitive and therefore a very easy weak point for people to grab. Like all other Faunus, her vision at night is as good as it is in the day, which makes her a natural night owl as she stays up until the early hours to train and the like.

It is indeed rather ironic when considering how much she fashions herself as a Queen of Hearts, because she has long since forgotten what hers is truly for. Perhaps someone or many others can remind her of this fundamental part of being human…

Strengths:
+ Intelligent
+ High-functioning mentality
+ Focused
+ Technically apt
+ Deceptive physical strength
+ Assured confidence
+ Superior night vision

Weakness:
- Lacks conviction
- Cannot work with others
- Devoid of emotion
- Becomes lost when strategy fails
- Undoubtedly lacks that ‘extra something’ which drive most, being a huge detriment to her in battle
- Past mental scars, never fought Grimm before
- Sensitive Faunus ears

Aura Description: Due to her unique semblance that allows control and a greater understanding of emotions, Cerise currently uses this to shut off her own emotions to not influence her in battle. She will not get riled up or enraged unless by intense circumstances, and likewise with other emotions that might otherwise throw her off course.
Colour… Magenta
Feeling… To those around her at the time, they will perhaps notice how she is not truly tapping into her aura strength, as if she is holding back even if she truly believes that she isn't. Shutting herself off thus limits her, even if she feels that it is a benefit. Otherwise there is no distinctive feeling to her aura that would otherwise spur on others or influence them, aside from a definite sense of mental clarity.

Semblance: Her semblance is indeed rather ironic. She is able to sense and heighten one particular emotion in an opponent for them to become overly sensitive in regard to that. If she chose to heighten their anger, for example, the target would become easily enraged over even the tiniest of things and thus lessen their rationality and accuracy. She could also lessen a person’s ability to deal with emotional or physical pain, basically playing with somebody’s heart and what they felt for her own benefit. She will become physically exhausted much quicker than if she doesn’t use this ability, however, due to the huge strain it puts on her mind and concentration levels. Plus, with overexposure, the user too will experience the very emotions they were tampering with, leading to them becoming enraged or highly sensitive to pain. None of this means that her emotional manipulation will always work, however. Those with a greater control and grasp on their emotions will not be effected so drastically or in the way that she desires (if it is explicitly stated in the character application), and people will skilled usage of their aura can use it as a protective shield against the emotional tampering.

WEAPON

Name: Animus (Latin for ‘Heart’, when referring to courage and emotional senses of the word)

Primary Form: The main form for this monstrous weapon is a large buster blade, which is easily 1.55m when compared directly to its user’s height. Its blade is a bright glistening silver colour, with mystic hints of pink and lilac ore ingrained directly into the metalwork which is only visible in bright sunlight. Its handle is magenta in colour, to match Cerise’s aura. It appears to be very mechanical and made up out of many different parts, which is part of its function to shift forms.

Secondary Form: Its secondary form is a menacing anti-tank rifle, forged out of the same pure silver metal ingrained with pink and lilac ore. Its scope, handle and propping features are the same magenta colours as her aura. It fires special bullets which really go off with a bang, exploding in pink fire with shots powerful enough to blow a heavily armoured vehicle to pieces.

Tertiary Form: This form is merely for storage reasons, due to Cerise’s want for her weapon to remain like a hidden trump card almost. It will shrink down using its complex mechanisms and spring systems to a much smaller almost tanto-sized blade. Its handle is folded over the blade also. She keeps her weapon in a special strap holster around her upper left thigh, underneath her skirt. Suitably, she gets many strange looks when she draws her weapon and many more shocked looks when it grows to its full size.

History: This weapon was specially forged for her by a skilled metalworker in the town she grew up in with her foster father. It was a parting gift before he left to commit suicide, and she parted ways with him to go to Beacon. While she will never admit it, the weapon holds sentimental value for her as the final thing that her foster father gifted her while he was still alive, and she will grow to realise this as her emotions begin to be known to her again.

Okay, so the only issue I see here is the Aura and semblance portion.

Semblance is something of a reflection of the character, and its a semi-unique ability of your aura itself. The way you've got everything written gives you two different, unique abilities, but you should really only have one. So I would say you should either change one so they are the same or perhaps very similar...

Secondly, I'm kind of a fan of the uniqueness of the Semblance ability, but it doesn't appear to allow the target a defense against it. If you keep it/have a similar ability, add some kind of detail that allows people to defend against it. For example, someone who has greater control over their emotions might not be effected as much. Or, someone with a high skill level in regards to aura might be able to block it entirely, or counteract it in some fashion. Just something in the description so that its not just an ability that always works on anyone.

I've edited the Aura and Semblance to be similar to one another and have a logical link between them. Semblance now has other drawbacks of how individuals can't be effected by it if they A) have high control over their emotions and is stated in their character application, or B) they have a strong aura and are thus able to negate it.

Also, I want to point out that your image in your signature is too large. The max height is limited to 100 pixels.
