What Fairy Tale Is Your Character Based Off?

so i know most people don't have character based of fairy tales, but some do

For those people what fairy tale is your character based off, mine is kinda obvious

Kaiden is based of the Big Bad Wolf, with some werewolf aspects thrown in there (like his glyphs being based of moon cycles) his more wild nature will be show more in later character arcs but for now there are plenty of things that indicate what he based off (Clawed hands, gold eyes, wolf howl, so on)

Sonny's mentality is based off the prince from a retelling of 'The Giant Who Had No Heart In His Body.'
He is much like the prince in the version where the prince lets a giant go free on his word that he will not harm anyone, because he feels sorry for him, but he breaks his word. The prince grows up while his brothers fall one-by-one to him because the giant is invincible without his heart. The prince finds the giant's heart and blackmails the giant into bringing back his older brothers and then breaks the heart anyway.
A light-hearted boy with the ability to dish it out when it's deserved.

Not just fairy tales. Literature.

Drake has hints of Perseus in him - largely the reference to glass in his Semblance (mirror), the silver scales and his whole approach to things.

Ravi - who will be unveiled soon is inspired by Saruman. I'll let you go where you like with that.

Kai is based around John Henry. Most obvious are his skin tone and giant hammer, second being his semblance that helps him move quickly to parallel the speed at which John laid down track.

Hm. If we're gonna talk about who we base our characters off of even though they're not Fairy Tale characters, we might as well rename the thread "Who is your character based on?"

My character are pretty obvious on who they're based on but I'll state just for the heck of it.

Cheshire Schrodinger is based off the Cheshire Cat, a popular character coined by Lewis Caroll, writer of Alice's Adventure in Wonderland. Other than his cat faunus features and the purplish highlights in his hair, his ability to teleport to various locations either completely or only pieces of himself, for example just his head, hints off his namesake. The surname Schrodinger also hints off to the famous scientist's theoretical experiment, aka Schrodinger's cat where to sum it up, the cat could be anywhere and nowhere.

Byron Hatter is based off the Mad Hatter, a very popular character from Wonderland. His first name is a reference to a mad lord named Byron who was a genius writer considered second only to Shakespeare in history. Seeking companionship while living on a college campus that did not allow house pets, he found a loophole in the rules. It said nothing about keeping a grizzly bear... yeah. Anyway, Byron Hatter's signature top hat is the first obvious hint off to his base as well as his semblance Wonderland, a manifestation of his absolute insanity. He also has a great love for tea and snacks and goes completely mad at 6 o'clock. Time refused to move for the original Mad Hatter and to him it was literally always 6 o'clock, which was tea time, hence the never ending mad tea party.

Alice Heart comes from the anointed Alice Lidell, mostly in physical appearance, her voracious appetite, and childlike personality. She is also partially influenced by the character the Red Queen, mostly by her weapon which specializes in decapitating heads. She also wears a white rabbit hat.

Rider Blanc is based off several characters. The first and foremost being the white rabbit, obviously hinted off by his white rabbit faunus ears, his albino hair, and his waist coat and oversized pocket watch. He is also based off the White Knight who had a passion for inventions. His weapons are a combination of all of Lewis Caroll's most famous monster creations, the Snark, the Jabberwock, the Jub Jub Bird, and the Bandersnatch. His semblance is the Vorpal Blade which hints off his base from the young man who slew the Jabberwock in Lewis Caroll's most famous nonsense poem.

For me, the only character I have based off a fairy tale is Puniceus. Who is based off of Pinocchio's dad, maker, person. 'Sort of a puppet master with no puppets' Mentality.

Well, Mordecai's based on his faceclaim, the Team Ninja DmC Reboot version of Dante, however his fairy tale inspiration is Mordred from Arthurian lore.

Malina Eveningstar - Based off of the Mayan sorceress and Goddess, Malinalxochitl, Goddess of snakes, scorpions, and insects. In several stories and tales she was called "...a Huitznahua woman, one of the stars come to walk among men." While in the beginning she was just a sorceress, after her brother, Huitzilopochtli, left his tribe she became arrogant and tyrannical of her power and forced her way to Godhood by forcing the tribesmen to worship her as such on pain of death. These things lead to Malina's "Holier-than-thou" Mentality. Eventually her brother came to one of elder priests in his dream and ordered the tribe to slip away in the dark of night, leaving Malinalxochitl alone. This lead to her stand offish-ness from others. After waking and the tribe had left she cursed her brother and swore vengeance against him before making her way to the nearby city of Malinalco, a city surrounded by foresty mountains, leading to how her homeland, Alapelagia, was created.

Nathaniel is based off the Joe Abercrombie books. His metal eye mirrors the one Caul Shivers had burnt out and replaced with a solid metal orb, while his attitude (why can the mistakes of the past not leave me alone/once you start fighting you can never really stop) is based heavily on Logan Ninefingers.

Fitzroy isn't really based on anyone, although I created him with the image of a dwarven demolitionist in my head.

Joseph Steele (the upcoming one) is based off of a few characters. His appearance is basically what you'd get if you took Judge Dredd and then gave him Adam Jenson's augmentations. However, his whole 'Fire and Fury' attitude is based on Alexander Anderson from Hellsing Ultimate.
