CHARACTER

Name: Calypso Nautua

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Symbol:
Spoiler:

Occupation: Student

Appearance: Calypso’s is a tall and thin woman, she weighs 140 lbs. at a height of 5 ft. 11 in. Her eyes are a piercing and solid black, framed by her long and silky black hair, which reaches down to her waist. Calypso keeps her nails long and groomed to help with her playing. While thin, she is decently endowed. Typically, both in battle and outside battle, Calypso wears a purple uniform with gold trim and ties, as well as darker purple socks. The only jewelry she wears is a pair of gold hair clips, worn on the right side.
Spoiler:

History: Born and raised the only daughter and child of the owner of a wealthy and powerful shipping company, Calypso was pampered and spoiled practically her entire life. Anything her heart desired was given to her, all she had to give back was to be ready to inherit her father’s company, she was taught how to get ahead in every way by her father. How to manipulate, how to control, how to crush anyone in your way to get to the top. Calypso cherished these lessons. Not for what they taught her and how they shaped her, but because they were among the few interactions she had with her father. About halfway through Calypso’s 14th year, her father died mysteriously in a shipwreck. The details surrounding the wreck are sketchy at best, and many suspected foul play to be a factor, but enough evidence was never gathered to support such claims. Six days later, Calypso was ordered to attend Signal Academy. Supposedly, Calypso was sent to die there, away from whatever schemes and secrets were being hidden from her at the home she was forbidden to return to or contact. Luckily, through a mix of luck, mental prowess, and her discovery of her semblance, Calypso not only survived, but thrived in the new environment. While she has been cut off from her family and it’s fortune for over five years now, Calypso has managed to keep herself afloat with her wits and resourcefulness, though, she’s retained the bitter and spoiled attitude from her past.

Personality: Your first impression of Calypso will most likely be pleasant and sweet. On the surface, Calypso will seem friendly and kind, even sweet and endearing. This is almost always a front, used to bait people into trusting her. In truth, Calypso is cold and cruel. She is constantly scheming and undermining her peers. Calypso knows how to get what she wants and she is ruthless in her pursuit. Despite her true self, Calypso does have feelings, and she does care for some select others, and tries not to hurt them with her plans and lies.

Strength: Mentally adept, Calypso can formulate plans and strategies quickly. Typically alert and vigilant, Calypso is tricky to surprise or ambush. Calypso is very resourceful, able to use almost anything to her advantage. Calypso is an excellent liar, able to formulate complex and believable lies at a moment’s notice.

Weakness: Though mentally strong, Calypso lacks in physical strength. A habitual liar and manipulator, Calypso cannot help but be distruthful, even when she doesn't want to be. Calypso has difficulty taking orders from those she does not accept as a leader. Calypso lacks serious speed and endurance.

Semblance: “Concert of the Siren”
Calypso uses her instruments as a conduit for her aura glyphs. She can form different glyphs by playing different songs on different instruments.

Apollo can play:

1: Shield - The quickest and easiest for calypso to play, Shield requires a minimal amount of aura, and takes only a sharp strum to create a blocking glyph directly in front of herself or an ally. The glyph lasts only a few seconds and can be broken with hard enough strikes, but blocks most physical attacks.

2: Heal - Taking a varying amount of her aura and requiring a tune to be constantly playing, Calypso forms a healing glyph under an ally. this glyph lasts for as long as Calypso plays her song and continually saps her of aura while in use. The glyph can heal minor to medium injuries, but cannot heal major wounds such as lost limbs, shattered bones, severe trauma, and large open wounds.

Persephone can play:

1: Heal - Taking a varying amount of her aura and requiring a tune to be constantly playing, Calypso forms a healing glyph under an ally. this glyph lasts for as long as Calypso plays her song and continually saps her of aura while in use. The glyph can heal minor to medium injuries, but cannot heal major wounds such as lost limbs, shattered bones, severe trauma, and large open wounds.

2: Haste - Requiring a significant chunk of both aura and Calypso’s own energy, as well as requiring a 30 second song to be played to activate, Haste is Calypso’s most self-debilitating and open combat useful glyph. Calypso creates a large glyph centered at her which pumps power and speed into all in the area of effect. The effects vary from person to person, usually simply refreshing and invigorating all in the glyph but Calypso. This glyph causes Calypso to become severely tired and left with little aura to defend herself with.

Muse can play:

1: Shield - The quickest and easiest for calypso to play, Shield requires a minimal amount of aura, and takes only a sharp note to create a blocking glyph directly in front of herself or an ally. The glyph lasts only a few seconds and can be broken with hard enough strikes, but blocks most physical attacks.

2: Suppress - Taking a varying, but exhausting amount of aura, Calypso cloaks her allies, silencing all sound to the outside and making them completely invisible. This ability requires a short song to prime, then a continuous tune to activate and continue the effect.

WEAPON

Name: Apollo

Primary Form: A dark wooden lyre.

Name: Persephone

Primary Form: A gilded wooden harp.

Name: Muse

Primary Form: A black painted cello. Red rose vines are painted across its front.

History: A prodigy in the musical arts, Calypso was forced to learn the harp from a young age, from there, her semblance was discovered and she was taught to play many more instruments, though she preferred the string family, more specifically, the plucking and strumming ones like the harp and lyre. When sent to school, Calypso required a weapon, though she was never formally trained in any weapon, her instruments and semblance were the closest things to weapons she could use, so she kept them to use as her weapons and she’s had them through all the broken strings and cracked bodies that her time at Signal and Beacon has given her.
