CHARACTER

Name: Blaise Lorelei

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Symbol: TBA

Occupation: Beacon 4th Year Student

Appearance: Blaise is a fox faunus with long crimson hair that reaches down just above her hips with long bangs that frame her face, save for a bunch that sits between her eyes, and round amber colored eyes. She stands at about 5’11” with a generous bosom and a slender, well-built figure covered by slightly tanned skin. Out of combat, she often wears a black corset top with short sleeves that laces together in the front, and black short shorts with a belt that has a large circle shaped buckle. In combat, she wears the previously stated clothes, except now she wears black fingerless gloves, and a long black coat with fur trims around the collar and sleeves. In combat she’ll also wear boots that are coated in metal and look like knight’s boots, as well as have metal bracers around her wrists and lower forearm. Otherwise, when she’s in public, she’ll wear sneakers instead of her knight’s boots or metal bracers. Occasionally, Blaise will be seen with glasses, but this is only for reading and the such. She doesn’t need to wear them at all times, as her vision isn’t that bad.

Spoiler:

History: Blaise has had a troubled past almost exactly like that of her sister Rachael. They lived together for a while, although neither really remembers the other as they were both very young before they were separated, and they haven’t seen each other in years. What Blaise remembers of Rachael is vague, though she doesn’t know about what her sister remembers. What Blaise remembers of the night they were separated though, is a bit different than what Rachael remembers.

Most of what had happened before the two’s lives split apart was a blur for Blaise, and she is unable to recall many details other than her love for music and fairytales. Often times, she would enjoy combining the two in the form of singing songs about fairytales and such, but she knew they were just myths. At least most of the time. This was when she began to take interest in hunters and huntresses, and was when she decided she’d want to become one of them whilst music was simply a past time. Eventually, she decided she would enroll at Signal, which she did, and was happy with it.

Now, Blaise was happy with her family, as was Rachael, until a certain fated night in which their house burned to the ground. She managed to make it out of the house before it was completely engulfed in flames, but was caught by the strange men that were burning down her house. They caught her and beat her into submission when she tried to escape and tried to put her in some sort of flying vehicle she had only seen in books. She wasn't allowed off the property, so she had never seen one. She didn't even know what it was called, but they dragged her to it despite her cries and pleas to just leave her be. Before she could be put on the vehicle, the men carrying her collapsed the ground just as two bangs rang out. She turned to see her mom holding two guns and her dad carrying a large sword. The two fought off most of the strange men (who Blaise later identified as the White Fang), but not all of them. They were defeated in combat, and killed right in front of Blaise. She didn't even notice her little sister Rachael who was over by the forest because just afterwards, she ran for her life. After that, she hardly remembers what happened. She was taken by the White Fang, and was held in confinement for a whole year.

Blaise remembers the events of her confinement, but they were too graphic to tell many people in detail. To sum it up, she was forced to murder, to destroy, to take what wasn't hers and give to people who didn't deserve it. It was a disgusting fate, and she despised every moment of it. But one day, whilst being forced to work with a very small group of three or four other members of the White Fang, she was allowed to escape. Two of the members were killed, and the last few were held at gunpoint and questioned. Blaise simply ran. She ran and never looked back. Eventually, she reached Vale and found her way onto a boat that sailed to Signal, although she didn't know it was going there. All she knew was that she had to get away.

When she arrived at Signal, she was surprised to find out that she had arrived there, but even more surprised to find out that she arrived on the very first day of school. Everyone there was dressed in different kinds of clothes, some normal some strange. She was dressed in rags. Upon entering the buildings, she managed to wander her way to an administration office and attempted to explain as much of her situation as possible. After that, she can't remember what happened, except for the fact that she made it into Signal after a few exams. They were small ones, about things her family and tutors had taught her. She even managed to pass the physical exams with above average grades, despite having almost no combat experience. Eventually, she was given real clothes and a weapon and was allowed to attend Signal academy.

Time passed and she lived within the confines of Signal academy, learning and studying as a student should all the way up until she graduated. The moment she graduated from Signal, she moved onto Beacon. This was all a blur to her, as was most of her past since she rarely paid attention to what was going on around her. Nothing really of note happened in her life after her family’s death. She just went to school to eventually graduate, become a huntress, and then track down her family’s killers. She doesn’t really have any idea that her little sister is going to Beacon with her, or at least not yet.

Personality: Blaise is an upbeat and energetic person, with a love for listening to and making music. She’s grown up making music for a majority of her life, so it’s something she’s very good at and loves to do. Her singing voice is very good and has been praised by others, as has her skill with instruments. There are few instruments in the common orchestra or band that she does not know how to play proficiently, most of which are percussion instruments. This doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to play ANY percussion instruments, just that she’s better at wind and string instruments than percussion ones. Her parents wanted her to become a musician, but unfortunately they never got to see that through, as they were killed when Blaise was just a teenager. That’s why she wants to become a huntress now, to find who killed her parents and

Blaise is surprisingly easy to anger and one wrong word might throw her off completely. It’s something she’s been trying to work on for a while, but to little prevail, as she still gets angry easily. She doesn’t know where these anger issues stem from, but if it comes from what she thinks it comes from, then it’s gonna be around for a long time. When angered, Blaise will try her best to calm herself via deep breaths and clearing her mind, but if it fails then she’ll just get even more mad. It’s a strange process of trial and error most of the time, and it almost seemingly has a 50/50 chance of working or failing.

Blaise enjoys spicy, sour, and bitter foods, and has a slight taste for alcohol, although she’s not addicted to any of these things to any extent. She likes them, and it goes no further than that. Often times, she’ll be picky with what she eats and drinks, not caring about health as long as she enjoys eating the food. Which often means that she eats a lot of junk food and things that are unhealthy for her. Diets never really worked out well, and she actually doesn’t need a reason to stick to a specific diet to keep her figure since her metabolism is really high. But since she has such a high metabolism, she’ll often get hungry very quickly, even after eating a full meal just a few hours ago. While she tries to not eat too much, sometimes she can’t help but indulge herself in eating more food than necessary. It’s both a habit and a hobby of hers to test various kinds of food. And it just so happens that sometimes it gets out of hand.

Blaise often makes friends easily, and doesn’t like to talk about her past since it’s not exactly the nicest thing. She’s also not the brightest person, but she’s not stupid either. While she isn’t failing her classes that rely on her remembering or knowing certain things, she isn’t exactly getting the best grade in those classes either. Blaise has trouble remembering things sometimes, as her memory isn’t the greatest. Most of the time it’s fuzzy at best, or is just selective on what she does and doesn’t remember rather than actually working like it should. She doesn’t know why she has trouble remembering things, but she does and it bugs her quite a bit.

Due to her past, Blaise isn’t the most sane person despite not looking very insane at all. She’s suffered a similar fate to that of her younger sister Rachael, in that her family suffered a horrible fate when she was young and it changed her drastically. While she’s not insane, she’s almost getting close to falling into the depths of insanity, to the point where her sanity affects how she acts sometimes. Her laughter can sometimes sound a bit unnerving and maniacal depending on the situation, and she gets really into combat. As in, she’ll go into a legit bloodlust simply upon lasting in combat for just a few minutes. It’s difficult for her to stop, but she can. Even still, it’s very dangerous Blaise to fight for extended periods of time. For both the enemy, and herself. Upon seeing blood, her own or her enemy’s, the bloodlust will continue and even deepen. She will adopt a mad look in her eye, and her grin will bare her fangs as it widens to stretch across almost her entire face. At this point, the only thing that can stop her lust for murder and blood is either stopping herself (which is near impossible at this stage), having an outside force stop her, getting knocked unconscious, or running out of things to kill. All of which, are pretty difficult for her to do (except maybe the last one). Her fighting style will devolve into just a festival of hacking and slashing, rather than an actual style with a form and focus and everything. It will just become one big murderfest for her. Her lack of complete sanity also leads to her making some questionable decisions and saying some questionable things sometimes as well. She is completely aware of this part of her, and will attempt to avoid blood and extensive fights as much as possible. After the bloodlust/insanity effects have worn off for the moment, she will hardly recall what she just did (assuming she does at all). To her, it’s just some more fuzzy memories.

Semblance: Ripple Energy

(stolen straight from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure)

Blaise’s semblance is very versatile and does not have one specific effect. The general ability is to channel her aura like it’s electricity to induce many different effects. While it doesn’t electrocute things like electricity, when she uses it, it takes the form of orange electricity arcing across her body as well as making her aura visible around herself. While it flows like electricity, in that it has to be conducted through something like a solid or liquid (because it would disperse completely in air), it does not electrocute things. It flows extra well through water and allows her to have more control over it when it does so, allowing her to create even more versatile effects. The Ripple Energy created from her semblance can be manipulated by her, but must flow through something. When it does, it can do the following:

(NOTE: This is still one ability (being able to manipulate her aura via “ripple energy”) but it can create many desired effects)

Blaise can use the ripple energy to pour energy into something to strengthen the thing it’s flowing through in general or empower something by giving it potential energy that she can then turn into kinetic energy. It works like this. She can strengthen an object in general, meaning she can give it potential energy for it to turn into kinetic energy. Or she can strengthen the physical properties of something such as the surface tension of water so she can walk on it. By empowering, she means that it gives it energy for her to turn into kinetic energy so it can move more/hit harder. She often uses this with her arms to carry and swing her two handed sword with one hand with little to no problem.

There are a few MAJOR flaws with this semblance, and the list goes as such.

-Her breaths need to be calm and smooth, as ragged and/or sporadic breaths will mess up her semblance. If she is breathing heavily and/or quickly, her semblance will stop working properly, and may have undesired, volatile effects such as electrocution, although it is very rare. If she stops breathing, her semblance stops working entirely. Deeper, stronger breaths = better maintenance of her semblance.

-The further away something is from where she’s conducting it (which has to be through a solid or liquid) the weaker the effect on it. Direct contact is much better, but sometimes dangerous.

-The effects of this semblance need to be maintained, as it won’t empower something permanently. The moment she stops powering it is the exact same moment it weakens. This power does not sit inside something ready to be used, it is only kept through Blaise maintaining her semblance. The more aura she uses, the more her semblance can strengthen/empower something but the faster she runs out of aura and exhausts herself.

-When she uses it on herself or another human being and not be breathing correctly, it may constrict theirs or her movement. When this happens, it sounds much like the cracking of bones for some reason. This may be because it actually does something similar to cracking one's knuckles, except to their actual bones/joints. Meaning that if Blaise isn't breathing properly and still manages to energize her entire body, when she tries to move she barely will and anyone around her will hear a lot of the aforementioned cracking sounds. She can stop using her semblance to stop this effect, but it will tire her out just doing so.

When used with water, it literally gives of a ripple effect much like the namesake of this semblance.

WEAPON

Name: Uccisore de la Luna (Slayer of the Moon)

Primary Form: Uccisore de la Luna has only one transformation, and that is it’s actual sword form. It has the ability to open up at the pommel and accept dust into a long tube-like chamber so it may channel the dust to create various effects depending on the type of dust accepted. Upon activating the dust in the chambers, she can do many things when she strikes something with her sword, or even when she just swings her sword through the air. It’s possible for her to project dust into an outwards force, such as a crescent shaped projectile, just by swinging her sword through the air. She can also use the dust to apply effects to her physical strikes such as creating icicles around her by stabbing the ground or a burst of flames from clashing blades with her enemy. The effects vary depending on the dust inside the tube-like chamber that runs through the entire hilt and guard.

Uccisore often sits on Blaise's back, wrapped up in what look like white bandages that are tied in a bow around the guard. The bandages then wrap around her body like a sling two times around. All she needs to do is pull on the bow around the guard and the bandages will fall, allowing her to bring her sword around to in front of her without pulling it over her head and possibly hurting herself.

History: Uccisore de la Luna is a sword she forged for herself when she was younger and in her final year of Signal academy. It served its purpose then, and it still serves the same purpose now. Not much else to say, other than Blaise is quite attached to this weapon.

I'm not 100% on the Semblance, but you seem to have balanced it well enough. Tentative +1
