Tamaki Tengan

CHARACTER

Name: Tamaki Tengan

Age: 17, fifth of the first month

Gender: Male

Symbol: A blade of grass being cut in two by a slash mark.

Occupation: Student of the athletic and creative arts.

Appearance: Tamaki is of tan skin and pitch black hair, his hair slicked back into a rage and his eyes a light hazel. At about five foot nine inches and weighing in at 160lb it's obvious that he's fit enough for his figure.
He wears a turtle-neck shirt (black), fingerless gloves (black), dress shoes (black), dress pants and dress coat (grey). His weapon though is commonly off-setting this look as it sits in it's sheath strapped to his belt.

History: Raised to be a warrior of his family crest, he was brought up to be well cultured and a step above his peers academically. But when it was noted that due to an attack from the Grim that his father was not to return home, he began to redouble his efforts. Self teaching and private schools took over his life. A destruction of his social life took place before his mothers eyes as she saw her boy become a man. Reaching age 17 there was only one academy left that could challenge his thirst for perfection — Beacon Acadamy.
In joining he hopes to live up to his fathers expectations, all while trying to readjust to his new life with peers.

Personality: Professional and soft-spoken, although he isn't the most intelligent or charismatic person in the world he's still very wise and self-motivated, his discipline, no matter how it is applied — proves itself time and time again.
He'll find himself rarely acting in disobedience, but if something conflicts with his shockingly strong moral fiber, his enemies may as well have started a war.
He's protective of friends, though usually in the form of advice. Preferring that they learn their own lesson.
An avid believer that combat is an art form, he trains religiously and learns more about people in the throws of action than any conversation could convey to his rather literal personality.

Strength:  He's a master at his craft, when wielding his sword he holds a fluidity and sense of wholeness that could only be achieved by someone with revenge and ambition in their hearts.

Weakness: He can't take much of a hit, spending his time parrying and blocking, a single slice in the wrong spot could leave him critically wounded.
He lacks social skills, while he sounds elegant, he has little to no understanding of real people and takes things more literally and/or seriously than their usually intended. 
Thinking outside the box is not his strong suit, if it doesn't sound like a great feet of heroism, he probably couldn't plan it. He takes a safety in being the soldier rather than the general.

Semblance: Lighter than air. 
His semblance is the ability to "double jump" or "glide" through the air by forming his aura into either a solid floor beneath his feet or using it to reduce his own mass the point of slowed or paused decent. It also allows him to run on surfaces that gravity would normally deny people.

WEAPON

Name: Kusanagi

Primary Form: It has the appearance of a katana with a blade made of what looks to be ivory texture although it still holds all the properties of steel in both effect and sound.

Secondary Form: The sheath is attached to the hilt and the whole sword/sheath then straightens into a full sized Naginata with the same properties as before but of course has a longer range and greater power behind it. Flaw: slower in this form.

History: Kusanagi was given to Tamaki after the death of his father, as the last remaining heirloom of the Tengan clan, Tamaki took it upon himself to discover it's true potential. It unveiled this to him on his last day at Tracer Acadamy (Misc. private school mentioned prior), turning into a Naginata and winning him the match and his finals exam. He uses the form sparingly as it holds a great sentiment to both him and all those before him in his family tree.
