Name: Cariboore
Based off of: Piranhas
Variants: Nope
Habitat: Rivers and streams
Size range: 5.5 to 10.25 inches
Description: The Cariboore are not far from what you'd see of normal fish except for a number of differences which give away their nature. First of all, they are covered in scaly plates of bone armor - very thin but also providing some protection from attacks. Their fins and the head are the only exposed areas, both black in appearance with the Cariboore eyes glowing faintly red.
The Cariboore also have inch-long fangs sticking out from their mouths, razor sharp and curved in such a way that the Grimm can swim around in water with their jaws closed. The lower jaws of the fish can unhinge to actually allow the teeth to open out and let the Grimm eat stuff. The Cariboore tend to swim slowly, usually at speed of about 1 mile per hour, unless they are attacking in which case they can reach speeds of 15 miles per hour in short bursts, spaced out around 10 seconds between each, however when their jaws are unhinged the Cariboore are forced to remain stationary and only move with any current. The Grimm are attracted to blood.
The Cariboore scales make them moderately resistant to temperatures as high as 100 Celsius and as low as -50 Celsius. They also protect the Grimm from electrical shocks when in water.
Difficulty: Difficult to fight, especially when in a shoal, seek land
Attacks: Swiping with teeth (hit-and-run, severity of cuts depends on where they cut and at what angle), Biting (those are slower and more stationary attacks but more damaging)
Weaknesses/Vulnerable areas: The bone armor is very thin and so can be easily destroyed by blows (if those aren't stopped/slowed by water). After attacking, they tend to group around the wound and prepare to eat so they move into biting mode, attack then as they cannot escape.
