CHARACTERName: Celia Abbott
Age: 17 Years, Seventeenth Day of First Month
Gender: Female
Species: Faunus - Siberian Husky
Symbol: - Symbol:
Occupation: First-year student at Beacon
Appearance: Celia is of moderate height and thin profile, standing at 5’ 6” but weighing a measly 112 pounds. Her body structure is fairly thin with hardened, defined musculature dispersed throughout what little of her body is not comprised of bone. Her skin is mostly smooth, though her palms, forearms, and the soles of her feet are reasonably scarred and toughened from her years of climbing trees. Her eyes are a piercing gray, the same color of storm clouds above an ocean on a cold day, and are filled with mystery and tenderness. Her black hair is moderately short, cut just below her shoulders, and is always left straightened and untied, with her bangs tucked behind her ears for maximum view. If she had it her way she would simply chop it all off, but her parents have insisted on keeping it at a reasonable length.
Her base layer consists of very simple parts. She sports a black tank top with her blue-gray symbol emblazoned on the front, along with a pair of comfortably tight jeans, darkened and faded with wear and covered with tears and rips. On her feet, she wears a pair of very old, dark brown mid-calf leather boots, which hug her legs and allow her to move and run relatively freely. On the outside, she wears her prized cloak - a waterproof, windproof black travelling cloak trimmed with silver, with an oversized hood that comfortably restricts her hair and keeps away rain and wind without constricting her vision too much. Over the torso of the cloak she wears a two-strap harness (one around the waist, one across the chest) that her quiver hooks to when her bow is not in use. She wears her gauntlets under her sleeves at all times.
History: Celia was born the youngest daughter of Holly and Gabriel Abbott, a small family who lived and worked in the mountains a ways away from Vale, as part of a self-sufficient community of farmers and hunters. As the eldest child, her sister, Sarah (armed with a tome of "magic"), had been raised to fight and defend from an early age, serving as a guard for their small village. Sarah began to attend Signal shortly after Celia's birth. When she was young, it was found that Celia was highly proficient in tracking and shooting with a bow, and was raised as a traditional hunter. Celia began her time in Signal not long before her sister moved on to Beacon, her prodigal skill landing her an easy spot in the academy. Celia learned and trained and continued to hunt in her spare time, and eventually became the primary source of food in her village. They lived a good life in the mountains.
Then came a turning point in her life. During their vacation from shool, Sarah and her team, SPHR, came to visit for spring. It was a calm time for everyone, a good season with a high crop yield, many celebrations, and fantastic weather. But then came some terrifying news. A group of hunters returned to the village after dark one night, beaten and bloodied. They woke everyone in the village and delivered the news: A Nevermore was on it's way, one larger than any of them had even thought possible. It was less than a day away, and because the town was so far removed from any other city it would take a full day for a proper team of Huntsmen would arrive. They were on their own. Team SPHR, the only people capable of properly fighting something so incredibly dangerous, prepared themselves for a battle the next day.
The Nevermore arrived right on schedule, a pitch-black mass of steel-like feathers, almost as large as the mountain the town sat upon. Team SPHR was upon it instantly, throwing a barrage of everything they could directly at the creature. The bird shrugged them off easily. Her teammates fell, one by one, the bird proving too much for them. As Sarah stood alone, the bird struck her through with it's beak, pinning her to the ground. Using all of her strength, Sarah cast a bolt spell straight into the bird's face, blinding it and dazing it. The bird was so disoriented that it flew far off, deeper into the mountains. Sarah lay there dying, a large hole in her chest. Celia ran out to her sister, holding on to some small hope that she might be able to save her, but she knew she couldn't. With her dying breath, Sarah told her sister to do what she could not, and protect the people. She gave Celia her cloak and, with the last bit of power she had, dazed Celia. Celia fell unconscious on top of her sister who, in her last moment, whispered into her ear:
"I will always be beside you....always."
Celia awoke a week later, her senses scrambled and her memory in pieces. Sarah had written a will the night before the event, and had stated her intent within the document. She wished for Celia to continue her training, and said that she would wipe Celia's memories of her existence, as she wanted her to become a Huntress out of desire to protect, not to seek revenge. Sarah left Celia her battle cloak for comfort.
The memory wipe caused Celia's personality to alter into something less chipper and more calm. She continued her training through Signal and into the next years, always diligent in her studies. But something always nagged at her while she was in school. She has always had this lingering sense of sorrow and numbness, as if something painful had happened to her...something she could not remember.
Personality: Celia tends to remain silent and keep to herself most of the time, due to her lack of experience with socialization. However, she is fiercely loyal to any and all friends, oftentimes sacrificing her own needs to ensure that they are happy. She treasures her friendships and her time with friends, holding those moments as among the greatest of her life. She is a kind soul, putting others’ needs above her own. She is a bit of an “old” soul, very motherly and nurturing, and wise well beyond her years. She tries her best to appear calm and collected on the outside, but the inside is a different story. When not in the presence of a friend or family member, she is overtaken by a crushing sense of loneliness and isolation, which will often cause her to lapse into a session of self-analysis. She’ll reflect on herself and her lost memories, trying to determine why she is the way she is. She is highly vulnerable to her own emotions, and they can often influence her actions if they are strong enough.
Oftentimes when she falls asleep or loses focus, she will speak to her weapon’s “Spirit”. Within her mind is a second voice that calls itself Ari, that often appears as an auburn-haired young woman dressed in a plain white robe, armed with her bow Silvermoon. Ari claims she is the spirit of Silvermoon given form, but secretly she is more than just that.
Strengths: Celia is highly analytical and perceptive of her surroundings, and is well-suited as a tracker or supporting fighter. Her keen eyes make her perfect as a lookout or set in an overwatch position, and her ability to move quickly and quietly make her a good choice for stealth missions. Her years of training with her bow has made her an incredible shot, and she rarely misses. She's highly agile and very good at dodging direct attacks in close quarters, and can almost always find a way out of a sticky situation. She’s also quite good at memorization and mathematics, due to her natural inclination to tacticality.
Weaknesses: She’s got very poor defensive capabilities since her weapon is either too bulky to effectively maneuver or too small to be of any use in blocking, and is generally unprepared for true CQC because of how little experience she has had with hand-to-hand combat. Though she is experienced with fighting on her own, she still has difficulty with it since her inclination is towards stealth and ranged attacks. She's quick to let her emotions cloud her judgement, and may give away her position or abandon her post in an effort to retrieve or assist a downed teammate. Her main academic fault lies in Writing and Literature, as she lacks creativity and deeper understanding of more abstract concepts.
Semblance: Clarity - Allows Celia to sense the presence, aura level, and movement of everything within a ½ mile radius of her, regardless of whether or not it falls into her line of sight. She becomes consciously aware and vigilant of any enemies in front of her, behind her, above her, below her, or to her sides. It works similarly to IR vision, a brighter, more solid color indicates a higher aura level. It’s particularly useful for tracking and planning when dealing with unseen enemies or large enemy groups.
WEAPONName: Silvermoon
Primary Form: The weapon has three pieces.
The main part, the lifeblood of the weapon, is the gauntlets. The gauntlets are made of a high-strength silver metal, and form a traditional sort of gauntlet from mid-hand down past the wrist. For added grip and comfort, the fingers of the gauntlet are fingerless, and made of a durable black leather. The gauntlets serve as a pair of quivers, each has a rotating ringlike structure around the wrist that holds ten arrows, each containing a mechanism to launch the arrows for quick nocking. The leading gauntlet launches the arrows back directly into the string for quicker shots. The right gauntlet launches them forward right into Celia's palm, for single shots. nce the arrows are exhausted, Celia must retrieve them if she wishes to continue shooting. She never wastes a shot.
The weapon's primary form is the bow. It is a longbow made of a silver metal with blade-edged limbs, with a string infused with pure white dust. The string tension can be adjusted for stronger force behind the arrows, which aids in armor piercing (though it drains far more energy) The bow is integrated into the leading hand (left) gauntlet, so it is impossible for Celia to drop it. The bow fires custom-made high-density tungsten arrows, giving the arrows far better piercing power and overall force, the high tensile strength of the bow compensating for the heavy arrows.
Secondary Form: The second form, for CQC, is a a collapsed version of the bow. The bow limbs will collapse backwards and hook into the left gauntlet parallel to the arm, creating a forked wrist-blade on the left arm.
History: Technically her weapon is named “Silvermoon MkII”, as the original Silvermoon was her primary hunting bow. Silvermoon MkII was created during her time at Signal, it’s design inspired by an old legend of a winged Faunus huntsman, armed with a unique bow that could split into a pair of shortswords. The bow’s enhanced-power design was a result of repurposing, as she needed something strong enough to pierce the tough armor of the creatures of Grimm while still maintaining the design of a weapon she would be able to easily use. She opted for the one-armed design for the blade so she could maintain freedom of both arms in CQC.
