Battle of the Sexes

Chiu could barely contain her excitement as she led the rest of the team into the arena. She had been stressed out and more than a little frustrated after being seduced and subsequently abandoned by the first person she had allowed herself to fall for in a decade. She needed to smash something, or someone, and while the actual target she wanted wasn't around, the two male members of the team would make for decent stand-ins.

Drawing her blades she winked once at her new female partner and smiled. "Ready to show the boys why girls are better?" She asked.

Declan walks to the opposite side of the field. "Just a spar, it's fine..." Declan says as he extends and retracts his blades. As he reaches the other side he extends his right blade to its fullest and spins the left on into a shield. "Do you know how Chiu fights?" He asks his teammate and leader.

Ron shakes his head and says, "Not one bit, she was partnered up with someone else in the initiation, and our team never did any training together." Ron sighs. "Well, this team will be better. I can feel it." he says pulling out Mânie and Cupiditas.

"So, how do we want to do this?" Chiu asked as she started spinning Lunar Lotus in her hands. Occasionally she would flip one of the blades and begin rotating that wrist before switching back and doing the same with her other hand. Her muscles were a little tight from less activity then they were used to, so generous amounts of stretching would be needed before she was able to move the way she needed to. "Just charge in a hope we don't kill each other? Or something a bit more...contained?"

"Hmm..." Declan readjusted his right blade to shift into a shield as well. "Well....we only really had one team training thing....but it didn't exactly end well...." He got into a battle ready stance. "I'm sure we have this one though..."

"How about seven hits?" Ron suggests. He pulls out Mânie and Cupiditas and readies a defensive stance. "I'm sure we won't have any fatal wounds if we do that." he says. He then whispers just loud enough for Declan to hear, "Would you rather go all offensive or split up offense and defense between the two of us? I really can do either."

"Then we are set." Chiu declared with a certain sense of glee. Much of her enthusiasm stemmed from her recent relationship issues, but this was also a chance to finally prove herself in front of her team. 'Just don't put a bullet in these people too.' Chiu told herself darkly. Her eagerness tempered slightly, Chiu checked and rechecked the ammunition she had loaded. Instead of the brass tipped cones she was used to seeing there were the blue tipped simulation rounds she was expecting. These wouldn't injure her teammates, but still leave a blue mark and generous sting when they hit. Assuming they penetrated her target's aura of course. Not that she would be fighting from range much. Gersemi's bow would mean she would be doing most of the shooting while Chiu kept the boys off her.

"Do you want me to take point while you snipe or stay close to you and defend?" She asked quietly. She wasn't used to protecting someone else, but she couldn't just leave her undefended either.

"Alright.....like initiation. Well I don't know know Chiu's attack strategy but I'd say if we go all out they may not have time to react...right?" Declan responded to Ron before readjusting his stance.

"Sounds good." Ron said with a grin. "On my mark. 1. 2. 3." he said just loud enough for Declan, before he activated his semblance and ran in a crescent to attack the girls from the side.

A smile spread over Chiu's face as Ron moved without warning. She had not exactly been ready, but neither was she caught completely off guard. Moving to intercept Ron, she switched the right hand to gun and fired a trio of shots towards Declan. It was doubtful anything would hit, but she didn't need to hit him. She just needed get his attention, and keep it off Gersemi.

Declan quickly raised both of his Gauntlets and deflected the bullets fired at him by Chiu. As the arrow hit, however, it caused a thick film of ice to cover his left gauntlet. 'Damnit.' He tried to shake off the ice but to no avail. Failing that had looked up and dashed toward Gersemi.

Ron, having used his semblance to enhance his speed, easily outran both Chiu and Gersemi's arrow. Quickly running around the back of Gersemi and takes a swing with Mânie at her right calf.

'Shit.' Chiu cursed silently as both of the boys moved towards Gersemi. She couldn't get to Ron, the bastard was just too fast, instead she angled back toward Declan. As she neared she lept and spun into a left hooking kick to the bigger man's head.

Declan quickly brought up his gauntlet and caused Chiu's foot to connect with the hard metal before he pushed off and slid away from her. "So metal against against normal punches and kicks? This almost seems unfair." He said before running back towards Chiu and jumping in the air. As he passed over her he attempted to aim a kick toward her head.

Ron blocks Grace with Cupiditas and tries to again to swing Mânie at her. This time at her left calf.

Stepping back out of range Chiu felt the air brush passed her nose as Declan's attack missed by a few centimeters. She thought she had read his range better than that, luckily she was a bit faster. She let her mind drift slightly, remembering a old movie from mistral 'In the world of Kung-Fu, speed determines the winner.' The Beast might have been the villain in that film, but it didn't mean he was wrong. Speed did determine the outcome of these things. Ron, with his semblance, was her biggest threat in that regard but Declan? Chiu couldn't quite tell how fast he was from the way he moved, but his words did not seem to understand the threat speed imposed. Yes she was attacking steel and iron with blood and bone, but this was a battle of accuracy not power. She didn't have to break his body to win, she just had to hit him a few times.

Chiu wasn't holding all the cards, however, she had the speed but her had the power. With her weak aura she be lucky to still be breathing if his armored blows struck something vital. She needed to end this quick.

Faking a step to the right, she closed the distance between them with a step to the left before planting her left foot and pushing off to send her across his body to the right. Her left hand blade sweeping in for a chop to his gut.

Declan attempted to bring down his right hand down to knock Chiu's hand out of the way but was too slow. As the blow connected with Declan's gut he doubled over, still bringing his fist downward towards Chui's hand.

Ron could have easily dodged the cable, but he let Gersemi catch him and bring him closer. He let the flat of her blade hit him but as he did so he aimed Cupiditas and Mânie at her thighs to make to small cuts on the sides.
