Student Council Campaigning

Ron was walking near the main office when the announcement was called. He grabbed the box of buttons with his name on them and about 10 of the posters. He was going to make some of his own. He brings the campaign supplies back to his dorm and starts designing some posters with his Scroll.

He puts a picture of him with his hood over his eyes in the center of the poster. He puts designs of his swords on the sides and in text he puts at the top, "Vote for Ron Rouge," while the text at the bottom says, "Or I will find you..." Having done that, he thinks, Are threats allowed for campaigning? Probably. He moves on to the next poster design.

He gets a picture of his actual face with a grin and puts it in the middle of the new poster design. He types on the top, "A vote for Ron Rouge is" and on the bottom, "a vote for War! Dogs!" He thinks to himself, That will do for now. He gets a bunch of tape from his desk and goes to the library where he prints off 20 of each of his poster designs. "Now time to start putting them up," he says.

Ron puts up at least one poster in every main hallway and a few in the many side hallways. Once done he brings the box of buttons to the entrance to the library and starts handing them out to people walking by.

When the announcement was called Tyler was busy working on his own posters, the first set had a symbol for equality on it, that of balanced scales. And underneath it were the words "Equality is needed, Vote for Tyler Yamasaki, the man of Equality." The next one was a much more simple one, it simply had him on it, smiling with the words "Vote for Tyler Yamasaki!" on it. He then smiled and printed off 30 of each poster, getting the pictures printing off in his Dorm as he went to the main office and got badges with his name on them. Well I hope people vote for me. he said as he started putting up the posters.

Rebecca tugged at the collar of her uniform as she stepped into the office to collect her supplies. She was having a difficult time breathing even though she knew the collar wasn't actually cutting off her air supply. The uniform shirt was so uncomfortable, she almost didn't laugh out loud as the opening cords to All Out of Love began to emerge from the office's small radio. Almost.

After collecting the various buttons and posters emblazoned with her name Rebecca wandered around the campus aimlessly, canvasing the area with posters and handing out buttons. Her tail waving happily as she strode from one place to the other. She felt a little bad about the slogan that was scrawled across the posters. It was as if she was lying to her schoolmates. She truly was Dedicated to a Better Beacon, but she also had a darker, more personal motive to her campaign. One that was the real focus for her desire to run. To make the school uniform an optional thing. Or at least the shirt. The skirt was quite nice.

Leonius had been busy, as one would expect from someone who didn't sleep. Already, large posters were going up, being hung by Leo's drones. Large affairs, with a painted design featuring Leonius is in full Sum Sine Sceleri, a purple and white toga draped around his armored frame, with a gold laurel perched atop his head. Above were the words "A VOTE FOR EFFICACY" and below, "VOTE LEONIUS" in large letters.

It was one of several such posters going up, one depicting Leo standing atop a defeated Ursa, and the words, "A VOTE FOR LEONIUS" and "IS A VOTE AGAINST THE GRIMM" above and below. Another showed him holding a puppy in the palm of his hand, stroking its fuzzy cheek with a finger, "LEONIUS DECIMI REGULUS" above, and "THE ONLY CANDIDATE CONFIRMED TO NOT ABUSE SMALL ANIMALS" written below.

Already, Leonius was on the grounds, handing out campaign buttons emblazoned with his insignia. "I SUPPORT BEACON" wrapped over the top, and "I VOTED FOR LEO" around the bottom.

Nobody could accuse Leonius of lying down on the job...

Arthur was fully prepared for this campaign, and by fully prepared I mean he wasn't, not in the slightest. He had no idea why he put his name down, or why he wanted to be in the council, but he was here now, so no time to waste.

So he collected the things he was given, badges and such, and went about his business. After a while of this, seeing it wasn't going to well, Arthur decided he needed something more flashy, and the only way to achieve this was badassery. So, after a while he came up with a poster he'd made of him, sat in a throne sword by his side with the slogan "Fit for council. Fit for King" This should at least catch people eye. Arthur started to put these up around school.

Zwei wasnt sure what surprised him more. That he actually signed up to do this or that someone is giving him the chance to do this. Campaigning would be much harder due to the fact he wouldn’t be able to bribe people to vote for him by giving them booze. The first thing he did was lift his scroll and begin making a few custom posters to catch peoples eye. "Neon green background will catch peoples eye...surely" he added a photo of his mask in the middle of the poster. The top of the poster in bold white font "Zwei Carter" where under his mask read "A kind, Caring and compassionate person who will do you and the school good". He sent the design to a color printer to make 40 copies and began taping the offensively bright posters up around Beacon. Afterwards he made campaign buttons with the same Neon green background with again his mask in the centre. "Zwei Carter. Doing whats right". He picked those up also and stood with all 40 of them in a basket waiting to distribute them to the students of Beacon.

Lucina walks down the long hallways of Beacon to the main office to collect her items for the campaign. She had almost all of her ideas planned out in her mind. She stepped into the office and felt a draft crawl up her leg and she grabbed her badges and posters and got out as quickly as she could. She walked back to her dorm and out on a nice warm sweatshirt before working hard on her posters. Her first set cane out just as she imagined. A picture of her in a cute maids outfit standing outside of beacon with the quote. "A cleaner Beacon, A cleaner future." She smiled and continued to work. After finishing and hanging her posters all around the campus she walked around the cafe handing out her badges that she carefully crafted with the same picture but a different quote. "Lucina for Student council!" She smiled and said to herself. "No one can stop me now...I've got this...I just hope Aeden votes for me....just in case."

Fantasia, seeing that already people had put up their posters frowned. Quickly using some for inspiration and a quick read of one of her books, she devises a perfect plan for victory. Acquiring the usage of both the posters and badges given to her added to the help from the two at The Adorable Axe , she enacts her plan. With a simple background of both a human and a Faunus working together against different silhouettes of Grimm, holding her voting details at the bottom,  it would have the simple caption of, "STRENGTH THROUGH UNITY."  While it was the tip of the iceberg, the resources she used would be less than courteous to the one accusing her of hurting defenceless animals. Having a picture of Leo crushing a faunus in his hand, it has the caption, "SOMEONE WHO HIDES BEHIND ARMOUR" at the top, with the bottom stating, "CAN YOU REALLY TRUST HIM?"  

Looking over the finished result, Fantasia gives her two helpers a big hug, the badges have a simple picture of a pair of happy children, a simple, "VOTE FANTASIA." printed on it. Posters specifically aimed to cover other peoples, she stands at the doors to Beacon with her three comrades, handing out both badges and flyers offering discounts at The Adorable Axe to any and every student. A certain cow faunus dressed up in more revealing clothes to help gather support.

Scratching an ear for a moment as the announcement goes through, Noveria frowns. She *did* want to run... but only to make Fantasia look better, really. Her team looking good meant she'd look good, and be more likely to have the same freedom she was used to everywhere. But she also didn't want to have to deal with the humans that were no doubt in charge, but also the ones running. She could deal with the sacrifice of being around humans to make herself and her team look better, though.

So she left the room. And quickly came across Fantasia's posters, instantly frowning. While Noveria's plan was to be aggressive, it wasn't really towards the other people running... just the voters. Not making up her mind just yet, she continues moving around to spot everyone else's posters. Upon spotting the one for... Leonius, she frowned again. While it was possible the metal man was the only one that didn't hint, it was unlikely. Noveria clearly was "guilty" of it, but she suspected nobody else was. Fantasia... maybe, but none of the others looked like they would hunt animals.

Arriving at the office, she grabs her own posters, leaving the badges, as they were tacky, and annoying to wear. Moving around campus, she begins sticking her own simple posters on top of everyone else's, being extremely thorough with the placement. She made sure that nobody could see the posters she was covering, making hers appear like the only ones there. It's not like she knew how to actually run, she just knew that cutting out competition was the key to becoming a leader. Her posters were simple, just saying that a vote for her was a vote in favor of Faunus rights.

The announcement woke Melissa, who had been sleeping in, intending on ignoring class for the day. She had spent the last night working really hard on setting up for today. Everything was set and ready, all she had to do was execute her brilliant plan and all would fall under her control!

Which was why the announcement alarmed her - Nononononono! She had completely forgotten about this silly student council thing! Now her plans to take over the school by bribing everyone with cookies was ruined! She had spent so long making cookies too! If she didn't start campaigning today she would fall behind, and she did want to win! And the cookies wouldn't last beyond today, so her plans to take over the school were ruined!

Unless... She once more came up with a brilliant plan, and rushed towards the office to gather the supplies for her new plan. Grabbing all of the posters and badges, she brought them back to her dorm room, snagging several students she knew she had scared into submission with her pranks to help her, despite their protests that they were busy. They had no time to busy!

"Right! Let's get to work! You four go tape these badges up on the walls, you two help me with wrapping these cookies with that paper and writing my name on them!" She ordered, quickly getting to work herself.

With her two helpers, the job only took an hour, a long hour filled only with cookie wrapping (And a bit of cookie munching). Finally finishing though, she shooed the last two helpers out, giving them some badges to stick to walls as well, before beginning to run through the halls, throwing cookies at anyone she saw along the way, cheerfully chiming, "Vote for me!" as she did.

Ron realized that handing out badges was tedious and very few people actually took them. He had emptied 1/5 of the box but it was taking too long. He decided there had to be a better way to do this. Time to put this speed semblance to use. He stuffed as many badges into his pockets, his hood, and even up his sleeves, totaling about another 1/5 of the box. He then ran in a loop through the halls of the school putting the badges on every student he saw (excluding the other campaigners). When he got back to the box he did the same twice more, these times he also went out into the grounds. He figured if people didn't want them they would throw them on the floor of the hallway and he could do another loop picking them up.

Now left with about 60 badges he thought, Why the hell not? The other campaigners can vote for me if they want, plus I still have too many. He emptied the box into his pockets and such and started sprinting again. Now he also put the badges on the other nine campaigners. He started with putting one on a girl throwing cookies at people She's got the right idea, and he puts one on a faunus girl who was covering someone else's poster She better not have done that to mine. I worked hard on those. Next he put a badge on a guy with a mask Wonder what that's about, and a badge each for a girl and her two helpers Where did she get help? He puts a badge on each of two guys he sees putting up posters, Looks like there is some normal people running at least. It doesn't stop me from tagging them with my badges, though. Next he put a badge on a girl handing out hers in the cafe Oh, right, there are people in here. He quickly puts badges on the students in the cafe and then moves out to the grounds. He puts 10 badges on the giant robot that is also campaigning His name's Leo according to the badges. Having one badge left he runs through the halls and finds the last person campaigning, a raccoon faunus girl putting up a poster.

When he puts it near the collar of her shirt he accidentally tears a bit of her shirt. Hearing the tear he stutters into a tumble a few feet down the hall thinking, Damn. Well that was inevitable running at this speed. At least I got done all the badges. He quickly jogs back to the girl. "I'm so sorry, I probably shouldn't have been running that fast," he apologizes. He takes the badge off the girl's shirt and asked, "Are you at least okay?"

Tyler had walked into his dorm to get more posters, and when he had come back to where he had been putting his up he saw that someone had covered his up! Oh no, he wouldn't stand for that. So he flipped the script and covered the ones covering his with three of his new ones! The new ones had a faunus and a Human standing side by side, hands joined, each of them smiling. It said "I believe in a united Beacon. Vote for Tyler Yamasaki!" It was a good touch, so he moved on, putting these posters up all over beacon, glad he had the patience to do this. He also handed out badges with a token for a favor from him on the other side, he knew that people would be bound to cash in on these, so they each were only good for one favor. He knew that he didn't need to try too hard considering the Council was apparently gonna be made out of one person from each team. At least that was the rumor. But still, he didn't trust rumors, so he was working hard to secure a spot on the student council.

The most beautiful sound she could imagine caught Rebecca's ears a brief moment before she found herself sprawled out on ground. Climbing to her feet she noticed the collar of her shirt was loosened. The buttons, and a healthy portion of the fabric had been torn free. A wave of elation swelled through her body as she quickly shucked off her jacket and then the torn ruins of her shirt. She was wearing her chest wrap, so she maintained a measure of decency, as she changed out in the open.

For a moment or two she debated on whether or not she should wear her jacket. The garment that was, almost as bad as shirts. On the one hand, wearing her jacket would be only slightly better than the accursed shirt, she would prefer to forego both entirely. On the other, it was likely one of the staff would make her go back to the dorm to change if she walked around in just her skirt. At least with the jacket on, she could talk herself out of trouble.

Slipping her jacket back on, she finally realized the boy standing next to her. Smiling she stuck out her hand. "You ruined my shirt! Thanks!"

Ron was confused for a second. He thinks, I think that means she's okay. At least she's not mad at me. Ron takes her hand and shakes it. He says a bit confusedly, "Your welcome, I guess... Anyways, I'm Ron. What's your name?" he asks even though he could just look past her to see what it was. Nicer to ask, in my opinion. he thinks to himself.

"Rebecca Meskenas." She introduced herself cheerfully. "Huntress-in-Training and sworn enemy of all shirts. You can call me 'Becca.'" Pulling the boy into a quick hug, Rebecca broke away with a grin. "Seeing as how you have slain my most hated of foes, I now you a favor. Anything you need or want, let me know and I will make it happen." She promised before her brow wrinkled and she recanted, slightly. "Except dirty stuff. We just met."

"Uh, okay," Ron says a little confused when he is hugged. Ron thought about Rebecca's offer. At her last statement he muttered, "Didn't even think about it." As he thought more and more he remembered why he had put that badge on Rebecca. Now there's an idea, he thought to himself. "Okay," Ron finally said, "I want you to vote for me for Student Council." He said this with a grin on his face.

Frowning at the sudden appearance of a badge, and subsequent arrival of a human's sent, Noveria growls. Ripping the badge off, any Faunus nearby would be able to hear the beginnings of a growl emerging from her throat, though it quickly ceased when she notices the man was no longer near her. Relaxing ever so slightly, she makes sure to memorize his scent before leaving the area, moving around the school grounds and tearing down each and every one of his posters, making sure to leave absolutely none still up. At the end of her journey, she finds herself fairly close to a giant metal man, and tilted her head, observing his actions.

Said giant metal man had already removed the offending buttons, and was surrounded by his drones. Ron's actions would not go unanswered for, nor would some of the other 'antics' of the other candidates. Already, he had compiled footage from his drones that were doing his bidding around campus, and as one of his tireless AI extensions of his will adjusted the loose toga around his full armor, he tilted his head at Noveria, framed by the upright cannons of his armor's Modus: Servator.

He didn't say anothing, merely nodding before taking his place behind a podium he had borrowed with permission from a lecture hall. "Execute campus-wide broadcast."


All over campus, Leo's drones had been busy. At the execution of his command, however, they stopped what they were doing, projecting screens. Leo, on every one of them, stood behind his podium, video and audio courtesy of a drone providing a live feed.

"Fellow students... Fellow future Huntsmen and Huntresses... I ask but a moment of your time... not as a candidate for student council... but a man of justice... and honor... A man saddened... by what he has seen... his opponents do in the name... of a victory they sully... through their actions..."

The video changed, to a slowed down capture of Ron rushing through the halls, putting badges on people. It slows and stops as he (inadvertently?) grabs a girl's breast, her look of shock and horror clear.

"I speak of assault... Of the violation of one's fellows, to what end!? To sexually assault one's fellows... to use them... as an unwilling billboard!? IS THIS... WHAT WE ARE HERE FOR!?"


Coffee was spit, as several Beacon Guard officers cried out in unison that most sacred of words.

"DIBS!!"

It was decided through rock paper scissors who would go.


The video in the broadcast changed again, to Noveria putting posters up over the oppositions. Unseen by many was Leo's head turning to glance at the girl in question for a moment.

"And what of censorship... What does it say... of someone who seeks to silence... her opposition... on such a level? I will tell you... what I see... dear fellows... I see a person... afraid to let people know... of their choices! To quote a wise philosopher... 'Beware of he who would deny you access... to information, for in his heart... he dreams himself your master!'"

There was one more change, to that of Fantasia putting up her posters.

"And here we see... the greatest deception of them all... A woman who exploits progress in Faunus-Human relations with one hand... to make herself seem compassionate... And in the other... denigrates a man... for the life support system... that keeps him alive! This is a person... who wishes to appear kind... civilized... a saint among men... but her hatred of those... different from her... is clear. Her bread and circus campaigning... painfully obvious in its intent!" The video shifted to Fantasia and her help, handing out coupons and flaunting said cow Faunus assets. "This is a woman... who thinks you weak... and easily pliable... People... who can be BOUGHT." The camera zoomed out, but focused on the revealing clothes of one of her aids. "A person who thinks... you so weak minded... to be distracted and swayed... this easily!" The video pulled back completely, showing them all, before zooming in on Fantasia. "These are not the acts... of a person who respects you... These are not the acts... of a person who truly holds... unity as a goal... She thinks you idiots... She thinks you able to be... manipulated so easily... These are the actions... of someone who seeks... to MANIPULATE YOU!"

The video went back to Leonius, who clenched a fist that rested on the podium..

"Is this who you want... to represent you..!? Is this who... you seek to be your reflection? The reflection of this... proud institution!?" The video cut to Ron, his hand on the girl's chest. "MOLESTERS!?" The video cut to Noveria. "CENSORS!?" Another cut, to Fantasia. "TWO-FACED TYRANTS!?"

The video cut back to Leonius, his enormous arms held wide.

"My fellow students... Many of you hail from Vale... and while I am not of your country... it is in this glorious and prestigious... institution where we... people of different backgrounds... different worldviews and ways of thinking... of fighting... of living have come to learn... to fight in solidarity against the darkness... that we have become comrades... I stand here now... your brother in arms... against the Grimm... and more importantly... if you so decide... YOUR VOICE..."

He lowered his arms, pointing at the camera, and thus at every viewer of his announcement.

"JOIN ME... IN FORGING A BRIGHTER SEMESTER... AT THIS GREAT INSTITUTION... VOTE LEONIUS... AND I WILL BE YOUR SWORD AND SHIELD... IN THE COUNCIL AS WELL AS... THE BATTLEFIELD..."


As the broadcast ended, Leonius turned to look at Noveria again. As the drones parted slightly, Leonius chuckled. "I thank you... for your inadvertent aid... in my campaign..."

Noveria watched the speech and accusations with curious eyes, not really sure what this metal man was doing. He claimed that one of the fellow campaigners had touched a woman without her consent, which seemed possible considering the boy's ability to move around faster than she could catch. She was slightly confused at the metal man's claims of her censorship though, but that could be a misunderstanding on both of their parts. She was only following the laws of her people, removing competition before they became a problem. Based on his words and actions, that did not seem to be the case here. Something to note for later, at least.

Her greatest confusion, however, was at what exactly he was. She could kind of make out some familiar noises, though they were tainted by other more mechanical sounds that she had was entirely unsure of. There was something similar to a heartbeat, very faint hisses, and some other noises she just could not place. But he was clearly not a machine, there were enough organic sounds confirming that. But none of that really mattered to her at the end of the day, as her biggest question was if he was a human or Faunus, since she didn't really care beyond that.

But she hesitated on asking, more out of fear than anything else. It was clear this was not someone she could intimidate, but she also did not want to anger him. She was still curious though, and curiosity tends to kill the cat. So she shrugged off some of her tension, kept her ears alert, and kept her tail close to her body. "I didn't really plan on winning anyway... so it is not a concern of mine. My concern is my inability to figure out if you're a human or Faunus. Seeing as I can't see you, and I can't make out your heartbeat very clearly... I am at a loss. And if I have offended you with my question, please let me know before taking action."

"No offense... has been committed... personally..." Leonius chuckled, crossing his arms. "I stand Pilorum... Beyond that statement... of nationality... my race is not... of concern..."

He held out his right hand, the other going behind his back, and in his palm he projected a screen, showing the narrow streets of Holy Pilum, and the city's Faunus and Human population intermingling.

"You will get the same answer... from all Pilorum... One of the tragedies... of the Bar-" He caught himself. "... The outside... is how much emphasis... you place on the composition... of the natural body... of another..."

He closed his hand, the image vanishing, as his right hand joined the left, clasped under his armor's backpack.

"... Why the concern... about whether my ears were once round and bald... or pointed and furred?" He narrowed his eye under the helmet. "... And why do you seem... so nervous asking..?"

"Because you're a threat to me. I am nothing if not good at telling a threat from a non threat." Is her guarded reply to the second part of his question. Without taking her eyes off him, she navigates to take a seat on a nearby bench, being careful to appear as passive as possible. "And for your first question? I have my reasons for not trusting humans. Just because you can co-exist in your homeland does not mean that is the case everywhere. If you are a human, I'll know for sure to stay far away from you, for my own good."

"A threat?" Leonius seemed amused. "Why would you think me a threat... unless you had reason... to start something?"

He watched her move, his posture unchanging even as his body turned, the drones around them serving as his eyes and ears from different angles, looking for signs of deception or concealed weaponry. The views were simply a bonus, he told himself.

"As for what I am... I am curious how resourceful... you are..." He began slowly walking, moving behind the bench. "Your senses are acute... Your hearing, it nothing else... if you can attempt to distinguish... my heartbeat... and I am guessing your visual and olfactory... capabilities are no less... developed..."

Slowly, his hands emerged from behind his back, and he put them on Noveria's shoulders.

"You should be able... to figure out the answer..." He chuckled, thinking he might have felt her tense up. "... The fact that you... did not immediately flee... and the passive stance you are taking... seems to indicate... more than a passing interest... in the subject..." Under his mask, the scarred face was split in a grin. "... Ask questions... See if you can find out... without help..."

Shivering involuntarily as she feels hands on her shoulders, Noveria tries to control her instincts for the moment, though she does feel herself starting to sink back in to the more animalistic part of her brain. Someone she didn't know, didn't trust, and was certainly scared of was touching her. Not a very good mix for someone with a less than stable personality, let alone someone who was certainly more animal than human. But she pushed most of her instincts back, knowing that moving in to aggressiveness would certainly get her injured, if not killed.

Blinking a few times to clear her head, she looks up at the man she was rather unsure about, trying to figure out how she could discover his species with any current information. "My hearing is by far my most developed, but of course sigh and smell are nothing to scoff at either. The reasoning for not running? I know better than to run from someone or something I consider a threat, if I can help it."

Beginning to shake somewhat uncontrollably, she takes a few deep breaths, trying to focus her hearing on the man's body again at the same time. "I don't know what questions to ask. And honestly, at this point, I would feel safer if you let me leave, regardless of you being human or Faunus."

Ron watched Leonius' broadcast in confused surprise. Well, I guess that's what I get for putting those badges on the guy. Though I don't remember that happening, he thought to himself. He turns back to 'Becca still awaiting her response to his request. He quickly explains, "I don't remember that happening, either it was an accident or that hunk of metal has some advanced type of editing software. Either way, I regret running around placing those badges on people. If I hadn't done that then I doubt I would have been mentioned in that broadcast," he says remorsefully.
