Divine Guidance Day Two [PLOT]

"Well, here we go." Lee stands, overlooking the seating order, and decided to grab a seat behind Li. Sitting down, he pulls his hood over his head as far as he can before puling it shut around his face. With a muffled voice, he speaks to Li: "I hope you're good at wind-breaking." He stifled a small laugh after.

Sam shakes his hand and leaves a note in it. "Sam. Nice to meet you." Sam just shivered as the wind blew. I HATE COLD! She screamed in her mind.

"Just don't pull my hair," Lí says in response, certain that the wind would end up taking it and flinging it into Lee's face at some point during the trip.

Resigning himself to being in such close quarters, Lí takes a deep breath, and slowly releases it. When he inhales again, he repeats the action, working himself into a controlled rhythm as he attempts to relax once more. Still, the tension in his chest remains, despite his efforts to the contrary.

"Likewise." He replied, shocked at how cold her hand was, even through his and her gloves. Thinking for a moment, he resists the urge to wrap his tail around her hand and places the thermos in her grip instead. "Please, feel free to sit close to me." He said, taking his bag and setting it on his lap to allow her the space."I should be able to provide some warmth."

Sam just moved closer to him, try to keep warm. She took a sip of the thermos, and shivered as the wind blew. Can we move soon.......I hate the coldness......I miss vale. She thought as she tried to stay warm.

Aphelion jumped onto the sled, deciding to sit away from the commotion and stare out into the land. Looks nice... he thought to himself, leaning back calmly.

Getting on the sled, Xarias adjusts his goggles one more time before saying, "All set here. I wonder how fast these guys can run." Spotting Naoto and Sam getting a bit close together he teasingly says, "I guess she's one for guys with big ships." Nudging him a bit with his elbow while throwing a quick wink.

Naoto shrugs at Xarias, hoping Sam didn't here that in case she thought he was coming onto him. True that anyone right now would think them to be a couple, what with his arm around her shoulder and the girl all but attached to his side, but the comfort that she was only doing this for warmth came to mind as he waved those thoughts away. Besides, there's a girl back home that's not like any other. He thought, his words automatically to the tune of an old kid's movie song.

Happy that everyone was settled down, she shifted up to Arthur for extra warmth while stating, "With this guy as our amazing driver? An hour, maybe? I mean, I thought it was going to take MUCH longer than that, but apparently not." Nodding to the man to give him the signal to set off, the entire sled jerking as the dogs bound off at full speed.

TIME SKIP

It was a quiet trip. Too quiet. The city's skyscrapers were visible on the horizon and they were in the final stretch of the trip there, no flora in sight. Soon they would be allowed to go home, though, it seemed that they weren't going to be allowed by Nature to get there without a fight. Dogs slowing down to a stop, they start growling at a seemingly hidden enemy. The first target was Aphelion, who had stood up when he thought he saw something, which he did. As the Artic Beowolf jumps up at him and knocks him down in the snow next to them, his upper clothing cut to shreds by the teeth as the Grimm go straight for the kill, or at least would of, but a fist was through its chest.  Now more visible due to their active looking for them, twenty seven Beowolves had managed to surround the sled, looking pretty enraged due to their comrades death, with the closest six heading for the group two from each side and one from the front and rear, Lilliana yelping and bringing her Halberd to defend, "W-What the!?"  

"Please, sit tight Miss Sam." The panther said calmly, placing his warm bag in Sam's lap. Immediately rising from his seat, Naoto stands protectively over Sam, his staff extending and twirling over head with two metallic clinks. Spinning it one last time, he lets the length of it slide down his hand so he held it near the end. With a practiced motion, his sword inserts itself into the tip of the red staff as the blunt end points down. Activating the engine, it fires through his grasp behind him, Naoto grabbing the blunt end at the last second and the staff extending to skewer the first beowolf behind him

Upon noticing the grimm begin their assault, Xarias leaps out of the sled with his double barreled rifle at the ready, aiming for grimm heading for the group. He activates extreme burst, and leaps towards Aphelion, extending a hand while keeping his eye on the oncoming grimm. "Need a hand? Cuz it looks like you have one of yours stuck in a dead wolf. " He says, a bit amused by his on the spot joke before stabbing the first grimm to leap towards him with the end of his rifle before shooting a high velocity round at point-blank range as the blades dug in, causing the wolf to fly out and land on the snow, dyeing it red with it's blood.

Just when I thought this was going to be my easiest job yet.

Immediately after Aphelion is bowled over by the Beowolf, Lí stands up and shifts, launching himself skyward as he draws Fenghuang from her harness. At the apex of his ascent, he shifts again, moving forward and down to intercept the Beowolf coming from the front and protect the dogs. Just before touching down, he redirects himself once more, adding more forward momentum to run the monster through. With a short hop back, he pulls Fenghuang from the Grimm's body, and shouts out, "Keep the dogs protected! We can't afford to lose them!"

"Ugh, stupid Grimm... I'm fine, don't worry about me." Aphelion smiled unamused at Xarias before he kicked the one on his fist in the groin before and got up pulling it with him. Grabbing it by the chin, he tore his hand out of him and swung to throw it at the approaching ones. Well, with people here I might as well go for it... Sorry Sam if you get PTSD. he thought as he followed up with a jump past the first wave of Beowolves, aiming for the back lines as he Ascended mid-fall, his Panda form going to stomp on the Grimm.

Arthur knew this kinda crap would happen, it always does. But that didn't stop him from enjoy it any less, after he stood and jumped out of the sled he donned his shield and drew his sword and got himself in a combat position. Knowing it was foolish to go on the offensive straight away, Arthur decided it was best for the beowolves to come to him.

Just as he was doing this he noticed all his comrades, jumping and flying about, with no order or plans behind their actions, he wasn't overly concerned at the moment he didn't really know these people that well, apart from Aph, but Arth knew he could handle himself. He just had to wait and see if everyone else could. Until then, he would focus on the task in hand. That being the Grimm standing in from of him.

Sam grabbed her box, and unfolded it into her shot gun and aimed her it at a Beowulf and fired three rounds at it. Really......cold and these guys. She then fired it at a few more, before changing it into her ax and swigging it at a more closer one.

The Grimm's assault brought Lee back from his mid-trip slumber. Rising from his seat quickly, he swings both arms forward, revealing Chichi. Beginning with a spin, his arms flip to the direction of a nearby Beowolf. One kunai embeds itself in the beasts chest, while the cord of its partner tightly synches itself around the neck of the creature. With his weapon now red-hot, he tugs both arms, decapitating the Beowolf and ripping open its charred ribcage. To the naked eye, his body slowly fades into transparency, being only identifiable by two footprints and the snow landing on his silhouette. "I'll be attacking from behind them! Keep a close eye out!" And with that, he took off to sweep around the Grimm party on the left of the sled.

As the first Grimm start to fall, they realise their fatal error in underestimating the group, backing off with the second Grimm Sam had gone after fleeing without injury. The rest of them fled upon seeing a six metre tall aura-Panda, melding back into the near invisibility they had while on the tundra. Though it was blatantly obvious they would be back, and inevitably better prepared with no more easy kills on them, this was their land after all, they knew it much better than the travellers.  Leaving them with the seven dead Beowolves, Lilliana start burying them, the sled driver doing the same, "That wasn't a needed level of brutality.. On both sides.."

Naoto stands his kwan dao beside him. "Thankfully, they didn't have that much of a surprise advantage." With a flick of his wrist, he sends his weapon into a well practiced spin beside him, the staff folding up with two metallic clinks. Retrieving his sword, he returns it to his sheath and the staff on his back. "They will probably be back. In force too."

They're not gonna be gone for long, if experience serves me right.

Grabbing a rag from his bag Xarias wipes the blood off the ends of his rifle's blades but not all comes off with one clean swipe due to the cold weathers' causing the blood to harden to some degree. A bit surprised by Lilliana's reaction to the slaughter he starts feeling sympathetic and decides to help with the burial of the grimm. "These things happen." He said towards her. "Though I'm not totally sympathetic about their death. We couldn't just let them have their way with us after all." Dragging a corpse towards a depression in the ground, Xarias start covering it with dirt and snow, not really paying much attention to the bodies' position. It's just going to freeze anyway.

Lí turns back to the sled as the Grimm retreat, pondering what would cause such behavior. However, at Lilliana's statement, he pauses, and looks at her. "Unnecessarily brutal? This is the Grimm you're talking about, Ms. Knight. Surely, you realize this?"

Carefully, he drags the Grimm he skewered with Fenghuang out of the way, a wary eye on it in case it wasn't quite dead yet. "Mercy is something we can neither expect, nor give, if human or Faunus extinction is to be avoided."

The Panda just looked at the Beowolves. Kinda wanting to chase, but... the moral principles stood. No need to pick another fight.

The beast stretched its aura limbs before leaning backwards into a little bridge over the sled. It glanced around the people, grinning at Sam specifically for no apparent reason before disappearing, Aphelion's unconscious body thudding as it hit the vehicle.

Stopping in his tracks as the Grimm fled around him, Lee let out a grunt before melting back into his tangible appearance. He was surprisingly tired from the use of his semblance. "Disappointing." Returning to the group, he merely stood as some began burying the creatures. "You are but wasting energy, putting soulless demons to rest." He frowned. His glance moved to Aphelion as his body quite literally bounced off the sled as he collapsed. Why is it always unconsciousness?

Arthur relaxed from his stance and shrugged. Whatever He thought as he sheathed his sword. It was always going to happen sooner rather than later, Lil wouldn't have such a big escort if there was no worry of danger. Arthur, whilst not saying a word to his comrades, quickly got back to his seat in the sled and made himself comfortable again, eager to get moving again.

Sam thought back to what had happened with the panda and winced a little. She loaded her shotgun, and returned it to the box form. She just put her hands in her pockets as she walked over to Liliana. She then handed her a small piece of paper which said, [Can we go now?] As she walked back to the sled she stopped and looked at a dead Beowolf. ......worth it. She pulled out her knife and began cutting off the warm fur.

Sighing as she points back, "I was referring to Aphy deciding to go Panda powers, now look? Unconcious on the sled. As for burying them? All beings, Grimm or otherwise, deserve a respectful burial, it is disrespectful to leave them like this." Deciding to just shovel Snow over them, she carefully removes the fang of each Beowolf, placing it like a mast over the grave to mark it before heading back to the sled, muttering a small prayer before sitting down, "Let's get ready to go, only five to ten minutes left before we get to the city. I'll leave you at the gate and then you can take the return trip, will get you out of the cold quicker. Or would you rather you came with me straight to the house?"

Naoto leans over Sam as she skins the beowolf. Sighing, he shrugs off his coat and drapes it over her shoulders. "Please, Miss Sam. Do not trouble yourself with that." He said, offering his hand to the girl as his shirt writhed, his tail moving up under it to wrap more of his torso to keep him warm. True, he wasn't feeling perfect but he wasn't exactly toasty warm either. She needs the warmth more though. He thought as he stood there, waiting for her to take his hand and return to their seat on the sled.

After Lilliana finishes off with the graves Xarias heads for the sled, carefully making sure not to step on Aphelion. Slinging his rifle across his shoulder he finds his previous spot near the back of the sled while still carefully scanning the surroundings not really seeing much due to the amount of snow. Getting comfy on the sled he says, "We better stay frosty but I guess we won't have much trouble with that in this weather." A bit impressed by his awful joke he makes a silly grin before adjusting himself on the sled to make way for the others.
