The Grimm-less Village (Closed)

"That be the symbol of the guardian!" Sarah said. "He protects us from the Grimm in the forest, ya know. Not a Grimm to be seen for miles in many years. The symbol was found on a buckle not too far from here by some hunters who were attacked by Grimm. They say they saw a man shoot arrows from the treetops and protected them. In curiosity they gave chase to the man. But he disappeared, only leaving the buckle. Me dad knows more of the story, if ya like to talk to 'im." Sarah pointed to the old man again who was making his way here.

"Aye, Sarah, my girl. Who these lovely lassies be?"

"Pa, This is Thorn and Rory. They came from across the way."

"Just in time too, I'd say! The name's Peter!" The old man said lifting a hand to the girls.

"Pa, dont be flirt'n with these girls now. They are out of your league." Sarah said with a laugh.

"Nonsense! This be a festival! Giv' a old man a chance, lassie!" He said to his daughter with a laugh.

Behind the man, at a stall stood a figure head to toe in clothing, a hood covering his face and head. He doesnt seem to be acting too suspicious, its just his clothing. The hooded figure looked around before diappearing into the crowd.

There was something about the man that bothered Rory a bit, but she didn't have much to go on and it would be rude to decide to disappear. He soon disappeared but Rory knew how to fix that. But first, she turned to Sarah's father and smiled.

"I'm glad everyone has such lively spirit here," Rory said. "Sir, care telling us more about your famous guardian?"

As she would listen, Rory would activate her semblance, Foresight. It allowed her to see as far as forty miles in radius. When she would, she'd scan for the man in particular and see if he meant any harm.

Thorn nodded and said, "Yes please, we would love some more information on the guardian." She then looked around Peter noting an unusually tall man who didn't quite fit in with his surroundings, but decided to ignore it for now. She then laughed at Sarah's 'joke' about how the two girls were way out of Peter's league. She then said, Anyways, any info would be much appreciated sir."

"Aye, the Guardian..." Peter said before turning to the statue. "Legends speak of a man; a man tall as a tree, with antlers sprouting from his head like branches that roams the deepest parts of the Emerald Forest. For years he has protected us from the Grimm and he alone had stopped the human/faunus civil war in our village and brought peace. Yet, We dont know anything about this guardian. We have this festival to thank him for all he has done and rarely we get a sign of his existence." Peter turns back to the girls and smiles. "Many people have searched for the truth and came back disappointed. We like te keep the mystery where it is, ya know?"

As Rory kept all her senses on the man, she should come to realize that there is something off about him. His fluid motion, the fact that he has no scent of a human, and he makes no sound...not even his footsteps make a light tap on the cobblestone ground. The figure turns towards the girls revealing a glowing green eye before continuing into the crowd, making his way to the statue.

"SO!" Peter yelled, "Which one of you lassies fancy a dance with this ole man?"

"Oh, pa...." Sarah said. "Well whoever doesnt have to get embarrassed by my father, will the other come with me?" She said to the girls.

Rory's eyes were too focused on the man and only half of her was really listening to the story. There was definitely something up with the person and Rory needed to follow him.

"Um, I'd love to dance, in a bit," Rory said. And then, turning to Sarah, "But err, nature's calling first. Is there a bathroom I can use?"

Thorn replied to Peter by saying, "Id love to have a bit of a dance sir! Haven't danced in...oh a few years." She then looked past Peter again, noting the same suspicious man, and making sure to keep a close eye on him. She sent Rory a look of suspicion and did a slight motion with her head in the direction of the suspicious looking man to see if she had noticed anything. She then noticed that when he turned towards her, that he seemed to have a glowing green eye. She knew she couldn't shrug this off, but decided it would be better if one person stayed with Sarah and Peter while the other investigates, and she took a guess at what Rory was going to do when she asked to go to the bathroom.

"FANTASTIC!" Peter yelled as he quickly grabbed Thorn's hand and began dancing to the current song. "You're not too bad, lass!" Peter said as a crowd formed around the two, clapping to the music.

"Um..." Sarah said looking around. "Theres a restroom over in the pub. But be wary. There be a lot of rough housin' in there. Ill wait here for your return. Dont get lost now." Sarah said as she began clapping to the music watching her dad dance with Thorn.

The man stood in front of the statue and looked up to it. With a tilt of his head he began walking around it, admiring the detail of the statue, green orbs looking up and down. He then looks down and picks up a flower rarely found the area- an offering of thanks to the guardian by a child and puts it in his cloak.

"I'll be back as soon as I can," Rory said as she kept her eyes trained on the man.

She followed the direction but then made her way to the statue as cautiously as she could before staying at a distance and looking patiently at the man, observing what he was doing. She couldn't smell him per se, but the scent of the flower was strong and it filled her nose before she caught pollen and let out a loud sneeze.

The man quickly looked up at the sound, staring into Rory's eyes with his green orbs before turning and sprinting out of the crowd down a street not too filled with people from the main square. Freerunning over boxes, carts and between people, the man seemed to be sprinting towards the forest.

Dang it! Rory thought as the man started off into a run. Rory was quick to follow, her faunus heritage making her quick to dodge the boxes and people and other things, her eyes sharp on her target as she focused her semblance as much as she could on it.

"Excuse me! Coming through! Sorry" she'd say as she passed the people. She didn't have time to go back to Sarah and Thorn, so she just followed the man where he went, trying to pick up the scent of the flower he held earlier as something to use if her semblance eventually failed her.

The man looked back for just a second before tripping over a small wall which was the barrier between the road and the forest. Instead of falling with the thump, the man somehow shattered into many leaves. The leaves swirled around the outfit the man once wore and they reassembled on the other side of the wall back into the man's form. The man, still in mid run, grabbed the flower he took from the alter and continued into the forest.

"Drat!" Rory thought as the man ran away past the wall. "But how did he...how did he do that? Semblance, perhaps?"

Rory took note of the flower's smell and wondered if she could use it to trace him later on. She sighed and then realized the others were probably waiting on her. A bathroom trip wasn't supposed to take that long. She made her way back as quickly as she could, catching her breath as she saw Sarah again.

"Sorry about that," she smiled. "Long line, hehe. Where are we off to?"

"Get lost, lassie?" Sarah said. "Unless ya met a lad, then why'd you come back?" Sarah let out a small giggle as her father walked up.

"Aye, That Thorn is one heck of a dancer!" Peter said with a smile. "While I was dancin' I saw ye run off down a street, Ever'thin' ok?" Peter raised an eyebrow.

Rory giggled nervously.

"No, I'm totally fine!" Rory said. "Yeah, I guess I wandered off a bit, but the important thing is I'm back safe and sound. Hehe...so, Miss Sarah. You needed me to go somewhere with you?"
