Dark Alleyway

Serena is walking down a dark alley at night holding a grocery bag.

"Wow, all this was so cheap!"

Serena starts to skip to her house.

Devlin emerges from behind a dumpster, sniffing the air intently. As he surveys the area his notion is confirmed as he spots a young woman skipping towards his territory.
"Who are you. Why are you here."
Devlin's voice is dry and monotonous. His ears twitch, waiting for her response.

"O-oh Hi... I just usually come this way to get to my house... I'm sorry to approach your... territory..."

Devlin's ears perked up. He seemed far more aware than moments ago.
"You shouldn't be here. This is the boss's territory. He doesn't like visitors."
His voice carried a sense of urgency and worry.

Serena chuckles.

"Don't worry I'll be fine."

"No no no... Someone's here." Devlin ducks down, covering his ears and whimpering like a scared puppy. Two men in black hooded sweatshirts bearing the same skull symbol on their shirts as Devlin had engraved on his arm. The taller of the two spoke up in a gravely voice.
"Well now, what's a pretty lady like yourself doing out here at this hour?"
The men had their hands in their pockets as they began walking towards Serena.

Zangretor stops on the sidewalk, clutching his stomach as it begins to rumble. "Ugh, still hungry. Where the heck are we supposed to find food this late?" He mumbles, looking around. After a short while, he spots several people down a nearby alleyway. On closer inspection, it seems that one of them is carrying something about the size of a grocery bag. "Seriously? It's like the moment we start trying to get away from our life of easy crimes, the world pulls us right back in." Zangretor sighs, slowly making his way towards the alley. "Ah well, maybe she'll be generous and just share. People around here seem to be pretty well off, anyways."

Serena puts the grocery bag aside and wall-runs and hops to the first male, in mid air aiming to kick him in the face with her steel-bladed leather boots.

'It's obvious this being with the primitive mind may or may not see this coming. But either way, it's worth a shot.'

The taller man sidesteps the flying kick, pulling his hands out of his pockets to reveal that he wears a pair of gloves with short spikes on the underside. As she passes him, he grabs at Serena's leg with a sharp hand. The shorter man pulls out two small pistols from his belt and aims them at Serena.
"Yeah, how 'bout no?"
Devlin whimpers.

Seeing the action that has just kicked off, Zangretor decides to head over and observe. "Well now, this could end up as dinner and a show!" He walks over and leans against the side of a brick wall, watching the scene unfold before him.

Serena struggles and whimpers in pain.

"Will you let go of me!"

Serena attempts to rip her leg away from the tall male who is causing her trouble.

"And quit pointed those primitive fire-arms away from me!"

'Why won't this over-grown ape let go of me. He needs to find a better career where he doesn't get grips on girls in dark places. So...'

Serena pulls out a fire dust vial and prepares to throw it.

"LET GO OF ME NOW!"

The vial of dust shatters upon impact with the man's face, erupting in a gout of flames. Howling in pain, the taller man drops Serena to the ground, her leg having seen better days thanks to the glove.
"AUUGH! You bitch!!"
The shorter man opens fire, sending a flurry of bullets toward Serena.

Serena's leg is bleeding profusely and she glares as the bullets come.

She activates her aura, but still gets hit a few times by bullets in her leg, arm and one near her stomach.

'Dammit that hurt like hell...'

She takes out a vial of fire dust and fire dust crystals.

She sets them up in front of her and ignites it into a wall of fire.

Serena grabs her grocery bag and hobbles into a store around the corner.

"Well here's our chance." Zangretor says silently. He follows Serena into the store, nodding to her to attract her attention. "Hey, those guys'll be here pretty quick. We can cover you if you wanna give up a small bit of whatever's in that bag." He says, watching the entrance for enemies. "If not, then I'll just sit back and enjoy watching if you don't mind." Zangretor smirks, looking back to Serena for her reply.
