Relics [Closed]

Hira flicks a switch on the dash that initiates training mode. Cover and targets start to pop up on the open airfield, large columns of concrete also raising. Hira lurches forwards and slams the two control sticks to the front of their tracks, a large plume of blue flame roaring out of the engine before it dies down and the hoverbike kicks off, going about 40 MPH.

The wind whistled past Jacob's ears and his face practically lit up as the bike lurched forwards. He lifted his head slightly before whooping loudly and staring off ahead of the hoverbike, the wind whipping his ears back.
"THIS IS AMAZING!" he yelled over the noise of the engine and the screaming wind.

Hira yells back to him. "I know! Target in front, fire at will! Show them who the h*ll we are!" She steers narrowly around a small concrete wall, the target she speaks of around 100 meters away.

Jacob yanked the trigger four times in rapid succession, the streaks of amber light lunging forwards and colliding with a small fuel barrel. It erupted in a column of fire, smoke billowing outwards into the air. Caught up in the moment Jacob howled
"YEAH!"

Hira quickly pulled the bike into a bank and aimed for a ramp. "Kill confirmed, moving to next target." She speaks in a normal tone, not expecting to be heard over the roar of the engines. The craft hit the ramp and launched into the air, the bottom thrusters firing twice to mitigate the impact.

Jacob's ears twitched, picking out Hira's words amidst the scream of the engine. He punched the air and grinned. This was decidedly more fun than riding in that blasted dust chopper.

The hovercraft pulls into a bank again and Hira wrestles with the controls, grinning. "One more target, straight ahead!" She yells as she kicks the afterburner switch.

Jacob takes a moment to focus on the pile of discarded ammo crates, gauging the distance. He took a deep breath, the world seemingly slowing down around him. He gave the trigger one sharp tug, sending a lance shot streaking through the air. The crates exploded in a shower of splinters. The wolf smirked
"Bullseye."

Hira slowed the engine down to a crawl and slowly piloted the hovercraft over to it's parking spot before cutting the ignition. "Well, what should we do next? Want to go down into the complex and look around?" She asks, stepping out of the hoverbike.

Jacob ruffled ran a hand through his hair still riding the high from the stint on the hoverbike.
"Where do they keep the big stuff?" he asked with a mischievous grin.

Hira walks over towards a small building at the side of the airfield. "Likely in the undergound launch pads. I heard they were working on a superheavy walker at one point, though I don't know if it ever went into production. Rumor has it they lost the design file." She says as she stretches out.

"A walker eh?" Jacob put his hands behind his head and interlaced his fingers. Images of gigantic fighting machines flashed through Jacob's mind, the more concerning thing was their purpose, what sort of Grimm were they supposed to take down? "let's take a look" he nodded towards the building.

Hira goes to open the door and struggles with the handle. "It's rusted shut." She mumbles as she thinks for a moment. After standing there, she throws her whole weight into the door, knocking it off the hinge. "Hmm. This must have been here a while." She looks around the dim room, seeing the staircase. "A way down. Good. That means that this isn't just a storage pad." She grins as she rushes over to the staircase.

Jacob climbed over the remnants of the door. his wolf eyes seemingly lit up as he stared into the darkness. The light from outside reflected in his eyes, as he stared down into the blackness below. He drew Jernulf and switched it to shotgun form
"Watch yourself" he cocked the gun "no telling what's moved in since this place was abandoned."

Hira waves her hand in the air and pulls a large combat knife off a table. "The door was still locked. At largest there might be some rats." She says dismissively as she starts down the staircase. Ten flights of stairs later and they get to the bottom, a large double door set at the bottom.

"Locked from the inside" Jacob reiterated "what happened to the people who locked it?" he paused to allow the question to sink in.

Hira pauses before opening the double doors. "No idea." She mumbles as she opens the door. She walks in and flicks on the lights, then gasps. "T-that's...!"

Jacob's grip tightened on Jernulv and he darted over to look over Hira's shoulder. His eyes widened. After a few moments of silence he whistled
"Wow."

Hira walked fully into the room and looked up at the massive walker, which was easily four stories tall in the seven story tall hanger. "It's huge..." She mumbles, flabbergasted. She quickly rushes towards the catwalk. "Come on Jacob! Let's see if we can get it started up!" She calls as she climbs the ladder.

Jacob warily walked forwards, staring at the huge mechanical monstrosity that was now looming over him. His mouth agape, he searched his brain for the right words
"Why would someone build this?" he breathed.

Hira barely hears him and stops climbing. "It... it was made for deathstalker elimination. And city razing. It's a warmachine built for destruction though it can be re-purposed for other means." She says before she climbs to the top of the ladder. She studies the gigantic hands that are larger than her before starting up the second ladder that leads up to the cockpit. "Come on Jacob!" She yells down to him.

Jacob trudged over to the base of the iron creatures feet before bounding up the ladder at an astounding speed. He slowed as he neared Hira. The sight of the gigantic creature had stunned him, he'd never seen anything like it whilst in the North.

Hira puts her hand on a scanpad and her eyes widen when the panel unlocks and slides up to let her into the cockpit. She walks in and stands in the cramped space, taking in the fact that it doesn't use a glass canopy. It uses a camera system like the newer Gunship models...

Jacob clambered up onto the beast's shoulder and took a firm handhold, perching on a curved metal panel
"Will it run?" He called out.

Hira calls from inside the cockpit. "Unless there's someone in the control seat it won't start up. I would get in here as I'm not too sure how well it responds to two people in the control center." She says as she takes in the single control seat. "It's a bit cramped and dark because it's not powered up though."

Jacob looked over at the cockpit.
"I'm not in the control centre" he called out "fire it up."

Hira rolled her eyes. "Just get in here! I don't know what moves on this thing and what doesn't, and I don't want to hurt you by doing something stupid."
