Escape From Underworld Battle Arena [plot]

"All bets have been placed! It's the fight you've all been waiting for! Our Tag Team Death Battle of the day!" the announcer shouted over speakers.

Once again a split screen appeared, showing the two opposing sides.

On one side were a pair of men with wicked expressions. They looked lengthy and scrawny with bald heads and pointed ears, making them look like a pair of goblins. Each of them wore elbow length gloves that sprouted the blade of a sword from each finger.

On the other side was the top hat man and the faunus girl from earlier.

"We've got the Goblin Brothers Jack and Ripper versus the king and queen of tag team battles, the Magic Pair Hatter and Hare!"

The two teams stepped into the arena, walking towards each other from opposite ends until they stood only ten meters apart. Hatter took an extra five steps forward and stood in front of the goblin brothers with a smile on his face.

"All bets are now final. Begin!"

The one named Jack stepped up towards Hatter with a snide smirk. He flexed his fingers, cracking each knuckle. Hatter merely smiled and said, "It's showtime!"

This made Jack pause hesitantly, staring dubiously at the man in the top hat, twirling a cane as he stared back with a smile. His other hand was digging into his pocket until he pulled out something strange. It looked like a ball of steel wool that was meshed around into a round cage with a little orange plastic ball trapped inside.

"Keep your eye on the ball," Hatter said cooly as he held it up, moving it to the left and to the right. Jack's eyes followed it warily. "Watch closely now... are you watching?"

Then Hatter lightly tossed the ball of steel wool with a mere back and forth movement of his wrist. The steel wool bounced off Jack's throat causing the goblin-like man to gasp and step back from the unexpected tossed. But the steel wool ball simply bounced off his neck harmlessly and Hatter caught it in his hand, smiling cooly.

Jack shook his head and glared at the man who he realized was simply playing with him and tried to growl but instead he coughed.

"Were you watching closely?" Hatter asked, rolling the steel wool ball between his fingers. He held it up for Jack to see. The camera zoomed in on it. The steel wool mesh was simply that but something was off. The plastic ball it held inside was gone.

Jack coughed again. And again. He started gagging and hacking. His hands reached up for his throat while keeping the swords sticking out of his fingers clear as he hacked and gagged. His face was turning purple as he wheeze.

"Brother!" the one named Ripper shouted, running over towards Jack, but then Hatter snapped his fingers and Jack's neck sprouted tiny blades that spun around a mere second before his head fell off, the tiny plastic ball sticking out of the neck wound.

"Thank you for volunteering," Hatter smiled, tipping his hat to the falling corpse.

"BASTARD!" Ripper screamed and charged towards Hatter furiously.

Hatter moved as if to pull something out. Ripper was suddenly upon him with a swipe of his hand, tore a deep gash into Hatter's chest. The hatted man was falling back when Ripper started swiping at him savagely, slicing off his arms, legs, and ripped into his organs. Then with a final swipe, Ripper slashed through the neck and the head and top hat rolled on the ground together.

With a psychotic laugh, Ripper started walking towards Hare, his swords outstretched, eager to tear into flesh again.

"I love tearing apart pretty woman. Your flesh is just so tasty and soft. Come here little bunny. Let me taste you! It's meal time!"

Ripper laughed crazily but Hate simply stared blankly.

"I'm a hare," she deadpanned. She didn't appeared a bit concerned at her partner's untimely demise. "You're new here, aren't you?"

"What does it matter?" Ripper smiled wicked. "I love this place. I get to tear apart as many pretty ladies I want!"

"You haven't seen us in the arena yet then," Hare continued. "You don't know Hatter's semblance."

"What does it matter? He's dead! And you'll be my next meal!" Ripper exclaimed, licking his lips.

"Hatter can't be killed," Hare stated. "Because his semblance is... Immortal."

Ripper suddenly stopped as a hand was placed under his jaw and another curled its fingers atop his bald head.

Behind him a a figure stood. His head was hanging from his neck by a mere strand of flesh, and yet the strand of skin seemed to pulled the head upwards and lifted it into place onto the neck. It was positioned backwards, but then it slowly twisted around until it was in its rightful place and the line separating the head from the neck started meshing together leaving no trace.

"And for my next trick," Hatter smiled, "I'm going to make a life disappear."

"What the-"

Before Ripper could finish, Hatter twisted the head around a full one-eighty , the neck twisted like a corkscrew. As Hatter lifted his hands off, the corpse fell to the ground lifeless.

"Abra Cadaver," Hatter smiled.

The crowd of monitored went wild just before the television turned off with a close-up picture of Hatter and Hare.

* A man with the ability to control electronics tried to drain the battery from his collar in the arena. He succeeded and the collar was shut down, but then the man fell dead instantly. The reason was unknown.

* A woman tried to shoot a guard when he opened her cell but her collar went off and stunned her.

* Another person tried to withstand the pain of the electrocution until the battery was drained. After ten consecutive attempts at provoking the collar to go off, the battery was drain and the collar shut off. The person died instantly.

* A couple tried to use their semblance to tunnel through the ground in the arena but were met with dense metal two meters in before their collars went off.

* Hatter tried to kill all of the guards and succeeded in killing many regardless of the collar but soon he was overtaken and fell by the numbing spell of the serum, screaming gargled curses at the guards as Hare was dragged away while a dozen guards pinned him down.

* A young faunus man no older than twenty was running down a corridor with three others whose faces were obscured. The faunus was yelling at the others, pointing up ahead while his other hand held a map. Suddenly a figure popped out of nowhere in front of them and the scene was obscured. The young faunus lied on the ground with wide eyes of disbelief, silent as he stared with tears in his eyes at the three decapitated heads lying around him. The figured raised a weapon obscured in shadows and swung down on man's arm. The faunus roared in pain and agony, his metal plated teeth glistening.

That was the last of the knowledge that went into Jacob's head.
