Practice Matches[Plot] Myren vs Jet

Jet stands up and takes a few deep breathes. He slowly walks up the steps and onto the stage. He punched his right arm out, the think metal covering his already armored arm shifting and sliding off in an organic manner. The metal plates finally stop moving as Paladin takes it's form as the large, double bladed battle axe. Jet places a canister of red dust between the blades and they ignite, roaring with flames that lick the air.

IC:

Go Jet, I thought with a heavy bias. After all, I had no idea who Myren was.

Myren stands and moves to face Jet. He places his left hand on his right shoulder, saluting him for a moment.
"good luck" He says, as he draws Skorpios, and assumes his stance; left foot forward, blade low to the right, left arm braced defensively in front.

'that fire is going to be a small problem' He thought, not particularly concerned about axe itself.

"You too." Jet nodded politely at Myren. The pieces of his helmet ascend from his upper armor and form around his head. The thre slits light up blue with a quiet hum.

(OoC: i'm assuming we don't need to wait for Koop, so here goes)
IC:

"heavy hitter, don't know his ranged capability, and with all that armour, I don't need to worry about hurting him." Myren thought quickly.
Jet responds, nodding as he puts on his helmet
"Well, No time like the present."

Myren jabs his left arm forward, launching Myrmigi at Jet's chest while he rushes forward, bringing his blade up to Jet's left.

Jet quickly spins to the right, avoiding Myren's attack. He uses his momentum to swing his axe quickly and fiercely at Myren's side, the blades leaving a trail of flames through the air.

As Myren's strike missed, he immediately pivots, getting his feet under him. He sees Jet's burning axe flying towards him just in time to raise his left arm and absorb the impact with aura, deflecting the blade upwards. as the trail of flame comes between them, Myren jabs through them with his sword.

(aura: 95%  -4 hit. -1 fire damage)

Jet's arm swung upwards with his axe as Myren redirected its momentum. As Myren's sword jabbed through the flames, Jet lifted his knee to knock it upwards. At the same time he lurched forward and sent Paladin downwards at Myren.

Myren shifted Skorpios into clawed mode as the blade was directed upwards. shifting his weight to the left, He angled the blades into the path of the decending axe, catching it by the haft. practically standing toe-to-toe with Jet, it was then a simple matter to launch Mirmigi's head at Jet's upraised leg, in an effort to latch onto it.

"Oh fun." Thought Jet. "Now I have a sword." Jet twisted Paladin to the right, torquing Myren's arm and wrist in a way that arms and wrists are not meant to go. As the ant head grabbed Jet's armor plated leg he let out a snort and slammed his foot down with a loud thud and brought the angled forehead of his helmet towards Myren's in a vicious headbutt.

Myren let his arm get dragged left across his torso for a moment, before releasing his blades from the axe. as Jet leaned in for the headbutt, Myren hooked his elbow behind Jet's head, accepting a glancing blow to the shoulder. He sweeps a hard kick at Jet's legs, using his weight to push Jet's upper body to the right, while pulling his leg out with Mirmigi.

( aura: 94% -- let me know if that elbow grab was a bit too auto-hitty)

Jet places the shaft of his axe into the ground, pushing against it to stay upright. Suddenly, a quick yank brought Jet's leg out from under him, and a kick hit the other. Jet pressed down hard on Paladin's shaft and used the momentum that Myren gave him to go horizontal. With a bit of effort, Jet raised his legs a bit higher and brought down his armored foot at Myren's right shoulder.

((Nah it's fine. I wouldn't call a grab like that an auto hit))

Myren barely managed to get his right arm up in time to block the attack, though his leather vembrace didn't do much to soften the blow. taking advantage of Jet's momentary weightlessness while midair, Myren steps forward and strikes at Jet's torso with his left knee.

As Jet's foot connected with Myren's shoulder, Jet noticed a knee coming at his chest. He let go of Paladin with one hand and grabbed the knee, pushing it away and flipping to the side, landing back on his feet. In a blur of metal and flames, Jet roared out as he slammed the blade of his axe into the ground directly in front of Myren, causing a large fiery explosion.

not idle as Jet got back to his feet, Myren charges forward. As Jet yelled, axe held high, Myren dove to Jet's right, slashing upwards a moment before the he felt the heat from the blast wash over him. Myren lands in a roll, quickly springing up to his feet. He detaches Mirmigi from jet's leg, assuming his defensive stance again.

"A bit excessive for a practice match don't you think?" He asked, calmly.

(I've kinda assumed that the explosion was directed forward, since you were standing at the epicenter and remained undamaged. Am i right?)

((Yeah, any dust powered attack from Jet's axe is directed forward.))


Jet spun to the left, but not before Myren's sword dragged across his gleaming armor. He spun and faced his opponent, having replaced the fire dust with ice.

"Pffft, did you see that one guy before us? He was tearing apart the stage just because he could." He responds in a friendly manner.

Myren shook his head, a wry smile on his face.
"no restraint. I'm amazed some of our classmates haven't killed each other yet"
with that, Myren stepped forward,feinting a slash from the right, while preparing to launch Mirmigi to where the parry should come.

As Myren stepped forward, Jet slammed down Paladin and a spiky wall of ice erupted from the ground between them with a loud crack, followed by some mysterious mechanical whirring and clicking.

'well, this is probably a trap' Myren thought as he angled to the right, launching Mirmigi's hook into the corner of the ice wall. 'Best not keep him waiting'

Myren reels the chain back in, pulling himself quickly to the corner. he uses the chain as an anchor to maintain momentum as he comes around the wall before detaching and retracting it as he charged.

Jet saw Myren charging him and just smiled. "Atta boy."

Jet no longer had an axe in hand, but a large, bulky dust-thrower, with white dust loaded in the top. He waited until Myren was about 6 feet away and pulled the trigger, creating a powerful concussive blast at Myren, powerful enough to completely shatter the ice in front of Jet.

ready for the worst, Myren was channeling aura into his barriers even as he caught sight of Jet, now aiming some kind of launcher at him.
"Yep. definitely a trap"
using his momentum, Myren moves toward Jet, intent on crossing the gap between them, when Jet smiled and spoke before he pulled the trigger!
"Your opponent's confidence is always going to be your best warning" His father's old advice rang in his mind as he diverted aura to his legs, rooting each foot as it landed. He Charged through the concussive blast and attempts to knock Jet's launcher down with his left arm, while bringing Skorpios down towards Jet's head.

Aura:88%  -2 exertion

"Well plan B is going swimmingly!" Jet thought to himself as he rolled out of the way and gave a bit of a hop and fired again, launching himself a good 20 feet back with the force of the blast. The same blast that happened to be practically point blank to Myren, who still had the remainder of the ice wall to his side.

Myren braces himself against the blast, but his aura had already gone back to fueling his shield when it hit. He was pushed back several feet until he was stopped by the remains of the ice wall.

"so that's how it's going to be" He muttered to himself as he stretched, rolling his head side to side.
"Dust?" He yelled at Jet "What's the matter? not confident enough in your own skills? you still need to lean on a crutch?"
He began calmly walking toward Jet, his arms held wide

"You call it a crutch eh?" Jet says, popping out the canister of white dust. "It's just a weapon! But if you want to be a fool and go without weapons, we can!" He sets in a canister of bright blue and Paladin begins to whir a bit.
