Of Drakes Most Strange [Closed - Team DISC, MKNT]

Week 5 - Wednesday

It was a strange and utterly alien sight. One that would shake those within both teams to the very core. He was stood there, looking at a mirror, seemingly fretting over his own appearance. He's looking over the cloaks, scowling as he starts trying to clean them up and he seems to have spent part of his usual sleepless night cleaning and polishing the scale-blades.

What had happened? He was normally dour, anti social and utterly apathetic about his own appearance, or indeed about the very idea of others fussing over themselves. But today...and indeed much of the past week he had seemed somewhat off. Not quite himself. Distracted. The normally cold and stoic Drake...had actually smiled at one point.

Mao walked through the hallway trying to organize his thoughts regarding his, or rather Indigo's, jarred scales. Perhaps I could make some scale mail with them, and, if I'm lucky, I could make wrist guards, too! But this would require quite a bit of steel thread. He hummed to himself a bit before a bulb lit up inside his mind. Doesn't Drake have a scale cloak of sorts? He totally would've made that by himself. Maybe he will have supplies!" He smiled, proud of himself, as he walked towards Drake's dorm. Peeking his head in, he was about to speak when he paused. He removed his head from the doorway, hiding himself just outside of it. Did the ever-so-gloomy Drake just smile? He poked his head back into the doorway.

"Uh, hey Drake. Whatcha up to?"

Kyri walked in thinking about the nice girl she had met not too long ago now, and how their mission in the forest went. Though her mind was split between the two, classes came up every here and there and the all too distracted Kyri almost ran into her partner as he stood in front of team DISC's doorway. She stopped dead next to Mao before she walked over him and looked into the doorway.

"What's up guys?" she peered in as well and saw that Drake was fussing over his appearance.

Matt walks down the hall, hoping to take a quick nap before his next class. I really need to start getting more sleep. I was falling asleep in that last class. Up ahead, he sees Mao and Kyri staring into the DISC room. What's going on now? Matt walks up to them and stands behind them. He stands on his toes and looks over the heads of the two of them. The sight inside the dorm shocks him. Oh. My god. "Drake? What are you doing?"

For the most part Drake was distracted, focused for a change of his own appearance. As he ties his hair back he starts to notice a somewhat off silence and then stops, hearing both Mao and Matt's voices. His first reaction would be panic...they knew nothing of his recent late night meetings with Victoria and as such would have no idea what he was planning.

He coughs, awkwardly trying to shift his posture, awkwardly trying to project his usual image of apathy and cold disdain. His voice wavers just a moment as he tries to get his thoughts back to his usual range, to its usual low, throaty growl.

"It's...nothing. I'm just getting ready for...meeting...someone. Nothing important." He couldn't risk them finding out. Not just yet. It was still very early for both of them. He frowns, just a little as he puts the bladed cloak on, deliberately hiding the extra effort he had put into it. Then he turns, making his way toward the doorway, glancing at each of them before pulling the scarf up, just a little.

Now he had to find where her dorm was...hopefully surprise her there. But not embarrass her...

Mao raised an eyebrow at Drake's explanation as well as his seemingly acted-out voice. He stepped into the doorway to block Drake's withdrawal, and put out a palm in front of him as if signaling Drake to stop. "Wait just a second there, mister." Humming, he scanned Drake's appearance from head to toe. He did seem a little...cleaner for lack of a better work. "Just meeting someone, huh?" Mao looked at Drake with suspecting eyes.

Kyri backed up a little as Mao took the main part of the doorway to stop Drake from leaving. She took a second to look him over with his not normal appearance and when the talk of him meeting someone popped up her eyes lit up with joy and mischief.

"Oh! Is it a girl! It's a girl isn't it! Drakes going to see a girl! Drakes going to see a girl" her chants turn into a nearly musical tune and she begins to dance around in a circle.

His plan of indifference and escape had failed. He freezes up, trying to glance away and trying to figure out how he was going to escape...up until the point where Kyri started to chant and dance. This was not good. He'd just finally managed to patch things up a few days ago...things were returning to normal in his dorm...and now part of his secret was being outed!

His plan had been to sneak past and go find Victoria...and hopefully get to have lunch with her. Of course, now the neighbours from across the hall were trapping him. Awkwardly he tries to figure a way around them, trying to keep his voice at a constant. Trying not to panic. After all, he still was trying to figure Victoria out...he didn't know how comfortable she was around him yet. Not properly.

"It's...nothing. Really. Look...I had to leave...really." With that he moves to duck under Mao and rumble past Kyri...he was still agile and nimble, even if being perhaps a bit more careful about his appearance. Metal clinked as he turned his escape into a hurried almost-dash, trying to slip through the crowds and head off toward the third year dorms, trying to lose his doubtless following tails in the process.

Kyri continued to dance around chanting her little song as Drake said it was nothing and he had to leave. She stopped the moment after he passed by her and she turned to see him running down the hall. She pointed to him as he headed off to the third year dorms and she giggled before calling to her team.

"After him! We must see what's making him so weird!" She then took off after Drake trying to make sure she didn't loose him. She skidded around a few others as she chased him.

Mao stood in the doorway and just let things happen as they did. Then he listened as Kyri gave chase to him and sighed. "I just needed some steel thread!" He yelled down the hallway, but Drake would've been out of earshot by then. He sighed again and started mumbling to himself. It seems that by crafting is going to be delayed slightly... Seeing as he had nothing else to do, he decided to follow Kyri.

Location Shift: A few tumbles, ducks and dodges later...Third Year Dorms

He'd lost them. Or so he thought. After glancing about and not spotting them, the awkward first year decides to straighten himself out quickly, pulling the scarf-mask down and carefully sorting the scale-bladed cloak out. This was the right place...wasn't it?

He frowned, looking around for someone he recognised...or, ideally the one he was here to try and catch. Did he ever feel out of place though. He starts to walk carefully along the hallway, giving each door a cursory glance, trying to find her name. He glances in and apologetically moves on from one room after the other.

Why did he feel so anxious about this? How was she going to react...to this? Nervously he shakes his head, taking a deep breath to calm himself, stopping just a moment and closing his eyes. He had to focus. He had to keep control...

As Drake approached the dorm room of Team VTRY, the muffled sound of two female voices, one significantly higher and less pained than the other, would become louder. If he listened close enough, he could hear that they appeared to be arguing about something. The lower voice kept making pained shrieks, all of which were followed by more yelling from the higher voice.

He stops, hearing the voices and carefully presses himself up to the wall. This...was not a good point to knock, was it? He glances about, hoping people aren't at least staring at him, trying to look casual and awkwardly pointing to the door for VTRY as though to say that yes, this was normal for them. Was it? He really didn't know.

He inches closer and carefully puts his ear to the door, trying to listen in, trying to get some hint as to the conversation...and if Victoria was one of those voices. Not that he felt she needed him to come dashing in to be her hero. If anything she had already started to save him...

Though the voices were still muffled and warped from their originals, their words were now distinguishable. "OW! DAMNIT!" "If you'd stop squirming it'd hurt less!" "I'm not squirming!" "Then why do you think it hurts?" "BECAUSE YOU KEEP PULLING ON- OW!" "Still squirming!"

What...? He blinked a few times, his thoughts drifting before he shakes his head, trying to resume his usual serious, apathetic nature as he stands, having heard probably the absolute worst end of a conversation. He wasn't sure he wanted to know.

Did he knock? He wasn't sure what the correct approach to this was. Keep listening? Knock? Be patient and stand outside, looking like an idiot? Unfortunately it was a combination of all of the above that would happen. He'd lean, carefully, listening with a confused look on his face before slipping, just a little, the metal of the leg brace clattering as it loses some grip and he...knocks on the door with his head.

He winces and pulls himself back, rubbing at his head and groaning. Stupid. Stupid stupid stupid!

At the knock, the yelling stopped. A third voice, this one male, spoke up. "Er, Hello? Someone there?" The sound of someone rising from a bed is heard, followed by the sound of footsteps and someone fiddling with several locks behind the door.

Another voice! Damn! Damn damn damn! He stumbles back just a bit, trying to get himself composed and orderly, trying to stand at ease as the locks start to go behind the door. Rather a lot of locks. He's not exactly sure what he's supposed to say though.

He stands there, looking awkward, glancing about cautiously before looking down and reaching to knock on the door again. This time a definite knock. He hoped this was the right thing to do...

The handle turned, and the door opened to reveal a black haired bearded man of about 5' 5'', wearing a long grey and red robe. He looks up at Drake, a little more than confused. "Ahh... Hello. Can I help you?" From over the man's head, Drake can see a room much larger than his own with much fancier beds and furniture. With the door out of the way, Drake can clearly make out the lower voice to be Victoria's "Grimm in hell! I said quit pulling!"

Ok. This one was...short. Drake pauses, looking down awkwardly, realising this person was two years his senior and nearly missing a foot in height. And then he hears Victoria's voice. He looks up for just a moment at that, coughing as he tries to set himself right in the head again.

"This...is the right place to find...Victoria. Yes?" His phrasing is awkward...mind you this whole situation was awkward. He was just glad he hadn't been recognised as the one who got stuck tied up to a beowolf. But seriously...what was being pulled?

"Ahh... Yes. Er, Victoria. You have a visitor?" He says to Victoria, hidden from Drakes view. "Stop moving!" "Ow ow OW! Damnit, Yora. Who is it?"

He winces, hearing the...surprisingly angry voice of Victoria, frowning just a little as he swallows and takes a deep breath. No, he wouldn't just give his name. That would cause all sorts of problems. That was exactly how rumour spread and that was probably the last thing she needed.

He tries to smile, just a little and he looks down. "Tell her...that the 'troublesome first year' is here." She'd recognise him from that, right? That was, after all, how she viewed him initially...

At that, Yora cocks his head a bit. "Ahh... Whatever you say, friend." He shuts the door. From behind the door, some conversation is heard with plenty of cursing coming from Victoria. Eventually, Yora returns to the door. "Ahh, our leader is a tad... Occupied... At the moment. Is it urgent?" "Vic! You're gonna lose hair if you keep flinching!" "I'm not flinching!"

Hair? Flinching? He frowns just a little and anxiously fidgets on the spot. Something didn't go right at all. He'd hoped...perhaps for a more positive response. But something was also off about the other voice he was picking up. Something...familiar.

"...Urgent. I...don't know how to describe it. Yes? Should I wait? I can wait...who...else is in there? They sound...I can't place it. She was...angry with me, wasn't she?"

Yora smiled a bit and raised a finger, waving it in the air at Drake. "Ahh, now I remember you! You're that guy Tera caught a while back!" He chuckles to himself at the memory. "Ahh, you should come in, I had my suspicion about her interests in you. Ahh that must be why she's acting strange. Come." He motions Drake into the room and flops back onto his bed, continuing his reading.

Drake steps in, cautiously, glancing about, almost terrified of what he would see. She'd been acting strangely? She was interested in him? He flushed, just a little at that and fretted subconsciously at the bladed cloak before looking around.

He would turn to look in the rough direction her voice had come from...
