"Looks like the only way left is down." Rainer points at the tunnel leading down. "We could rest for a bit, or we can continue on." He lets out a yawn. "I'm fine with either one for now. Super Giant X can wait. We don't know what's going to be down there. Unless you guys are up to the task." He says genuinely worried for the others, but also because he's hungry. He hasn't had anything since the start of the initation, except strawberry milk. "Just wondering do any of you have anything to eat? I'll trade you some strawberry milk for it."

"Nah, didn't pack anything." Emilie said. She shifted Splendor on her shoulder again. "Ok then, let's go." She said, taking the point. She began walking down, deeper into the cave.

Topaz, Lapis, you guys ready in case I need to use Fragmentation? Yep. Yeah, my nap charged me back up. Good, we don't need to rest. Emerald thought and said, "Okay, I'll stick to the back." He followed Emilie down the path.

"Excellent, lets keep moving then." Piers happily chimed in as he followed everyone else down the cave, every now and then looking over his shoulder to make sure that nothing was going to sneak up on them. He remembered that their frantic fight with the bat Grimm left one alive when it retreated. The memory made his arms burn slightly.

"Uh...by the way, I don't know if you've seen them yet but if we find any bat like Grimm be careful about attacking them. They're full of acid."

Emilie rolled her eyes, unlike herself the two had probably read the scroll. Speaking of which, a ding came from hers, she pulled it out and illuminated it with her semblance as they walked.

"Hmm, so there's a new grimm in the water." She said "It's kinda like an eel and is pretty poisonous." She said. Luckily, the water up ahead seemed to be decreasing. "Let's hurry it up a bit," she continued. "If the water keeps lowering we won't have to worry about meeting it." She said, picking up her pace a bit.

Rainer gently clapped his hands when Emilie used her semblence. "Wow, that's pretty cool." He said impressed, but can be easily misinterpreted. As Emilie talked about the new grimm, Rainer takes his scroll out. He reads the new message about the Toxicanths. "Looks like the only danger is the spikes of the Toxicanths. Creating a new type of grimm that's just crazy." He puts his scroll away and matches Emilie's pace. He decides to give everyone some of the strawberry milk he had stashed. "Do any of you want some?" Holding up two small milk cartons to Emerald, and Piers in the back. In his other hand he held up a small carton of milk in Emilie's field of vision.

((Time-skipping a bit.))

The squad of students continue on their trek through their tunnels after brief introductions and snacking. Over time, the terrain seems to be evening out, and the cavern getting wider. Indeed, after around thirty minutes of travel, it seems to be pretty normal cavernous terrain. Perhaps an hour after joining up as a team, the four students come to a giant doorway in the cavern, with the doors already open.

On the other side of the doors is a massive cavern, spanning at least three-hundred feet in diameter, and probably even taller than that at the center. There seems to be three more sets of doors, placed equidistant to each-other, around the cavern. There is one straight ahead, one to your right, and one to the left. All three of these other sets seem closed, however.

Suddenly, an ear-shattering screech can be heard echoing throughout the cavern. It is quickly joined by what sounds like three more, and anyone with sensitive hearing would quickly be incapacitated. It may be wise for the students to try to find a way to at least dull the sound.

As they walk in Emerald comments, "Are we still under the lake?" Before anyone could answer him, the screech goes through the cavern.

Gah! That hurts! I'm scared! Why couldn't it have been food! Not only does Emerald's head hurt from the screech, he gets a mind full of shouting voices. Shut up! I can't think! All three of them stopped shouting at once. Emerald covered his ears when the screech started, but it hadn't subdued the sound much. Without looking up he asks shouting, "Anyone know how to stop that!?"

"Thanks but I'm good." Piers politely declined the offer of milk with a wave of his hand as the group kept walking. He didn't bother checking his scroll when it beeped, the others did a well enough job of explaining what it would say. Poisonous eels...the thought of such made him glad the water level was lowering for them. Briefly Piers wondered if his semblance could be used to cure poison, it wasn't something he's had the chance to practice trying before. Hopefully he wouldn't have to in the near future.

Upon seeing the large open doors Piers was about to wonder out loud if some other students had beat them here, but seeing the three closed doors lead him to believe otherwise. Had he the time Piers would have liked to of examine the doors for clues on where to go next, these being the first man made structures he had seen in the caves. But any thoughts about that were immediately silenced by the wave of intolerable shrieking that filled his ears. Instantly his hands went up in an attempt to cover them but Piers knew it made him vulnerable to do so. Something else was obviously in the cave and he was going to need his hands for his weapons.

Bracing himself for the sharp sound, Piers quickly lowered his hands and began undoing the bandages around his burns. With a simple tear he was left with one long strap and two smaller wadded up ones which he used to fashion himself a headband with earmuffs. It was far from perfect or ideal but it at least allowed Piers to tolerate the cacophony.

"Let's pick a door and deal with whatever we find behind it!" Piers shouted as he pointed toward the middle door with his staff. "Either we find something behind it to kill or we can get out of here and away from the noise! I'll open the door, someone with a gun take aim and get ready to shoot the hell out of whatever we find." Not wanting to waste anymore time Piers ran up to the door and got ready to open it as soon as someone took up an offensive position.

Emilie rejected the offer for milk, she hated the stuff. They continued walking for a while before they came into a huge cavern. The shrieks shattered her ears. She'd already gone partially deaf from years of fighting, but it did nothing to dampen the sound. As she went to cover her ears, she heard Piers's instructions. A good plan overall, but Emilie had no plans to use a gun, or to wait for someone else to open the door. Charging over to the door, she grasped the handle with one arm and pulled with about 70% strength. At this level, the door could weigh almost a ton and she'd be able to open it. Her other hand grasped Splendor tightly. If necessary she was ready to slaughter anything that came out of that door.

Rainer covered his ears from the ear shattering shriek. "WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!?" He saw Piers and Emilie run for the middle door. Piers was saying something but he couldn't He gave Emerald a tap on the shoulder and pointed toward Piers and Emilie. "LETS FOLLOW THEM AND THINK OF A PLAN AFTER WE REGROUP!" He runs to the middle door. As he runs towards the door he looks around to find anything suspicious.

Emilie's head whirled around as she saw the ape creatures out of the corner of her eye. She gripped Splendor with both hands.

"Finally," she thought "a challenge." Pushing Piers behind her, she held Splendor out in front of her.

"BERSERKER!!!" She yelled, a mere blur as she rushed forwards, giving no thought to any sort of plan. This was her 100% power. She would have 45 seconds to a minute before her muscles would start to rip apart. This would have to be quick. Unless this creature had skin harder than stone, she would be able to cut through it like butter. Splendor was on full heat as she charged. Activating her semblance, Emilie blasted out a brilliant flash, hoping to blind her opponents. Leaping off the ground, and using her huge sword to her advantage, she struck towards the creatures left chest area. If it had any sort of familiar anatomy a lung (or the heart if she was lucky) would be pierced.

That...that was a big Grimm...

The bats were one thing but this? Piers was beginning to feel very small, in more ways than just size. This was far beyond anything he had ever trained for, hell he couldn't even place the creature amongst all the studying he's done. These things must of been something new then... Perhaps that was part of the test, seeing if the students could react to undiscovered Grimm like this. After all, that's what Hunters and Huntresses had to do all the time. Piers wondered if he had just gotten too used to the all too common Ursa and Beowulf. What was he doing here if he even struggled against those kinds of Grimm?

No, I can't be thinking that right now. Piers pushed those thoughts aside in his mind. Sure, he himself had difficulty in a one on one match but this was different. He had allies, all of whom were capable and experienced fighters. And one of those allies was about to charge off into battle head first. Piers was immediately shaken from his thoughts as Emilie shoved him back, catching himself just in time to place a hand on her back and imbue her with the same protective aura boosting glow as from before. The white particles that emanated from her seemed to give her an appropriately energized look for what she did next.

With that finished, Piers ran to the...thing...furthest from the one Emilie was attacking while launching a weak blade of wind at it to draw it's attention. The first boost of a battle was always easy to get off but after that there simply wasn't enough time for him to wait and finish bolstering everyone else. Not to mention that they probably couldn't afford to have two of the Grimm on one person. He'd have to dance with one of them to keep it occupied while finding a chance to break off and help the others. It was far from ideal, but this was what he had always been good at. Everyone else here poured themselves into mastering fighting.

But Piers was a helper, and a master at that.

Emerald asks his 'advisers,' Anyone want to fight? Let me at them! I haven't fought anything yet! Okay. Lapis? Topaz? You want to fight as well? I'll go. I'll hang back for now. Okay. Here we go. Emerald quickly closes his eyes and focuses. "Fragmentation!" he says. Lapis and Almandine appear next to him. Again, almost complete copies except for hair and eye color change to blue and red, respectfully.

Emerald points at one of the Grimm with Răbdare switching it to shuriken mode. He fires a couple of shots in the general direction of the beast. Lapis and Almandine take out Caritatis and run toward a couple of the Grimm aiming to stab the beasts in the center of their abdomen.

"What the..." Rainer turns around and looks at the grimm. Following his teammates lead, he runs behind the grimm targeted by Piers' wind blade. He takes out Silver and chucks it into the air. He jumps about 5 feet into the air. Spinning in the air Silver reaches it's max height and falls nearing Rainer's foot. I hope this works. He twists his body and kicks the butt of the bokuto with lots of force. Silver stops spinning and, blade first, speeds towards the middle of the giant grimm's tail. That should immobilize him if it works.

NOO! I WANTED TO FIGHT! Well, that was unexpected. I would say running is the best option now. Yeah, that's probably best. Emerald switches Răbdare back to grapple mode and shoots it high up on the wall.

When he lands on the wall he yells, "Guys! We need an actual plan!" hoping they heard him Emerald starts trying to think up a plan, though he isn't a strategist.

Piers fended off the Grimm's attacks with practiced easy, slowly backing up and allowing it to follow him in order to put some distance between it and the others. If nothing else, Piers knew the Grimm could at least always be depended on to be single-minded in their offensive strategies. Parrying the claw swipes and jumping over the tail when it came was about as easy as it got for him, especially since Piers wasn't trying to strike back. In between each strike he managed to catch a glance at what was happening to the others.

The slime that had covered Emilie's weapon was bubbling and fizzing all over, an indication to Piers that it was reacting with the sword. What is with this cave and acid? He briefly wondered as he looked for Emerald and Rainer. At one moment it looked like Emerald had...back up? It must of been his semblance he figured, but before he had another chance to look over they were gone and Emerald had retreated to a wall. And Rainer was behind the one that he was defending against. Both of them out of range for a boost...maybe he should have told them what he could do before this all started, Piers realized with a small groan.

Ultimately it didn't matter, no plan survived the battlefield so it was important to adapt and adjust. And given what Emerald just yelled, that's what they needed to do right now anyways.

"One on one is a bad idea!" Piers shouted at the top of his voice as he lifted his staff to block another swipe at him. "We need to gang up on them, take them down one by one. Let's start with this one!" With that being said, Piers blocked one of the right swipes that came at him from the side with less strength than he had the others, allowing it push him off to the side. Skidding to a stop, Piers jumped back and simultaneously launched another blade of wind at the beast. This time he didn't hold back at all, aiming a full powered slice at its legs. Thanks to being repositioned by the claw attack, the blade of wind wouldn't be headed toward Rainer.

"Don't go for the kill, try to disable it instead! It might be easier!" Piers yelled again, hoping that if the Grimm dodged the attack it would at least open itself up to another one from someone else. "Emerald, see if you can get by me! I have something for you!"

"GODDAMMIT!!!" Emilie yelled. She couldn't afford having her sword melt on her. With nothing readily available to rinse it in she thrust the blade to the hilt into the stone floor and began to sprint away from the beast, leaving a deep crack in the ground as she ran. The acid had not had much time to work, and the heat had probably helped boil off some of it. Thinking it clean enough for the moment, she pulled Splendor out of the ground when she heard Piers's suggestion. It was probably the best course of action, and as such she bolted towards the one Piers was defending against. Though they obviously had some organs moved around, there wasn't a beast she'd heard of that could move without muscles, and that necessitated they be in a similar place to other creatures. A muscle to move the leg had to be in the leg. Basing her attack off this she swung splendor in a arc, cutting towards the mid calf. If her blade went through, she would stab it into the stone again and run to cleanse the blade. If her attack went through, it would essentially pin the creature here. It would b unable to walk, and most likely unable to stand.

"About 40 seconds left." Emilie thought.

"Well that didn't work." Rainer ran over to where Silver fell. He grips onto Silver lifting it up and runs to the group. "Let's try cutting off one of it's legs." He says while holding Silver with both hands.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS THINGS BONES MADE OF!!!" She yelled, her sword caught. At this level of power, she'd once swung her blade cleanly through a 2X2X2 meter cube of solid granite. This thing obviously had bones harder than anything she'd ever seen. Quickly pulling the blade the opposite direction from her original cut, she freed it. Stabbing it to the hilt into the earth she hoped to clean off this things acidic blood. However, there was no doubt that this beast was not going anywhere fast. Still, she now needed someway to hit something lethal. The only place where she new she could get that would be the neck. She'd seen Emerald use that thing...

"Emerald!" She yelled, running towards him. "Try to get me up near the neck!"

Emerald stabs Caritatis into the wall to hold him when he removes Răbdare. He shouts, "Catch!" and shoots Răbdare down at Emilie for her to catch. Once he brings her up he tells her, "Hold onto my leg." He shoots Răbdare at angle to the other side of the room (taking Caritatis out of the wall) passing just above the Grimm.

Emile gripped tightly to Emeralds leg as the fired through the air. As they passed above the grim Emilie dropped. She held her blade in a guard until the last possible moment when, further powering the strike with a gunshot from the hilt. Plunged the entire blade towards the creatures spine. If it sunk in, she would finish her cut, before getting down from the beast to cleanse her blade again.

"30 seconds" Emilie thought.

"Hey Piers, can you boost me up over to Emilie?" Rainer asked. He looked up at Emilie "She's going to need some help. I'll give you a signal when I'm ready." He faced the injured grimm, relaxing his muscles and slowly falling head first onto the ground. He was in a trance like state, yet felt like he was more focused than before. Still gripping Silver in both hands, he slowly brought Silver to his right side. The edge of the blade facing the ground. Two feet from the ground, his legs explode into a sprint. The momentum of the fall mixed with his leg strength made him ten times faster. In the crouched sprint, he easily closed the gap between the grimm and himself.

Rainer, still sprinting, looked at the injury Emilie had caused the grimm earlier. He grips Sliver tightly and closes in on the grimm's injured calf bone. Lifting up Silver, in an instant, he attacks the chipped bone. The impacted echos across the cavern. He pushed with enough force hoping to break the bone. He hit the bone in a way to both trip the grimm into falling onto his buddies that are chasing Emerald, and to give Emilie a better angle to cut the spine. "MY BLADE IS THE BLADE THAT WILL CUT THE HEAVENS!" He yells triumphantly. He quickly give the signal with his hands to notify that he was ready.
