Match F: Alex Broles & Chiu Fong Wong VS Marc Treasa & Alani Fields

Chiu wasn't impressed. At least if anyone asked she wasn't. She did, however, have to admit a burgeoning sense if respect for her partner. So much so that she almost felt guilty about not knowing his name. Not that she actually felt guilty, she couldn't stress that point enough, but almost.

His forward thinking not only had their enemies walking into a trap, but would also provide her with their exact location should they stumble into it.

As her partner went high, Chiu decided to go low. Best to provide two separate attack angles should they stumble across their foe.

Jumping from her perch Chiu crouched low and moved as quietly as she could through various bushes and brambles. Stealth wasn't exactly her forte, but she was an experienced huntress in training and had stalked Grimm in the past. Hunting humans shouldn't be much harder from Grimm. One was a group of stupid mindless beasts, and the other had claws.

Smirking to herself at her little joke Chiu spotted a small depression in the ground surrounded by rocks and fallen trees near her partners position. Unless the enemy also came at them from the trees she would be well concealed from view. And if they did attack from above her partner should have the where with all to provide her with some warning.

As the two reach the clearing, Marc looks into the battle area and frowns. "They aren't there..." he whispers, his eyes darting around. "I would put money on it that they are hiding." Seeing the way one of them moved in the trees, he was almost sure that was it. One problem, though. Which trees.

Thinking quickly, he lowers Olyndicus, looking at Alani and nodding towards it. "Get on." he whispers and crouches a bit. "I have a plan. I'm going to throw you up in the air, and you tell me if and where you see them. Either of them. I'll rush, you back me up." That sounded like a good plan. It would work. At least he really hoped it would.

Alani's eyes surveyed the area just as Marc's did. It seemed he was right. There was no one in sight and it was highly unlikely that they had been the first to arrive. When directed to hop onto Marc's weapon, she couldn't help second guessing his tactic. "Uhh... are you sure about this?" Despite her apprehensions, Alani locked her Boom-orange onto her left forearm and awkwardly positioned herself on top of Marc's Olyndicus, facing him as she did so.

Marc sways his head and shrugs. "Eh, pretty sure." he tells her before quickly taking a step, swinging Olyndicus at an upward angle. "Jump!" he tells her as the weapon reaches its highest point, launching Alani upwards.

As two figures walk into the area, Alex readies a grey-tipped arrow. By the looks of it, Marc had a plan, but what it was, Alex was unsure of. He watched as Alani straddled Marc's giant lance, and wondered what was going to happen. He nodded to Chiu as he aimed the arrow at Marc, getting ready to shoot and run.

Suddenly, Marc yells, "Jump!" and launches Alani into the air. Alex knew it was the time to strike, so he loosed the arrow, flying straight towards Marc's torso. As soon as he fired, he circled around to the side opposite Chiu and waited for her move.

At her partner's nod Chiu braced herself to move. To attack, defend, or run she couldn't say, but she was prepared for anything. As her partner fired his shot from the trees, Chiu leaped from her spot just as a large, dark shadow passed over her. Glancing up she spotted orange hair rocketing up from the ground, her boomerang strapped to her arm.

Okay...That she hadn't planned on.

Marc may have been strong, but Alani knew she was going to need an extra boost if she was to get the height needed to get a decent view of the battlefield. As she was launched up, Alani fired off one of her mini-bombs, projecting herself upwards with the momentum of the blast.

During her ascent, Alani was able to spot both of their opponents, though the view was brief. "There!" During the apex of her trajectory, Alani fired one shot at where she believed to be the position of the female of the duo while her eyes followed her male partner. Already starting to fall but having a bit more time to aim, Alani let off a more accurate shot in front of the shady figure moving to the other side of the field. By aiming ahead, she knew that even without a direct hit the chances of the blast catching him were elevated. "And there!" Alani finished by landing on a tree branch, using her Boom-orange to stabilize herself. It wasn't the most graceful landing, but it could have been worse.

(OOC: Mini-bombs used: 3 out of ????. I'll be using this to keep track since she does have limited ammo.)

Marc takes the arrow into his chest plate, scowling. 'That's one... No matter.' he thinks, spotting the male Alani pointed out, and the one who had fired the arrow. "I've got this one." he calls out, Olyndicus beginning to spin as he runs at the opponent. "You are mine!"

Swinging the lance at the enemy, Marc yells out, the lance moving fast at the figure. Now the fight really starts.

Chiu was really starting to hate orange hair. Not only had the girl shown herself to be a one woman wrecking ball, it would seem she also moonlighted as her own demolitions team. The explosive orange hair had fired towards her hadn't struck Chiu, but did hit close enough to blow her off her feet.

If gash dripping blood into her left eye and streak of blood on the rocks in front of her were anything to go by she had smashed her head into the rocks as she fell. That bothered her. She didn't remember hitting her head which meant she had lost consciousness at some point, but how long? She could hear shouting nearby, so she hadn't been out long enough for the battle to end, but was she even still in it?

Pulling out her tracker she looked down at the screen and saw to the hit counter registered a 2. So she was still in the game, but why 2? Either someone had come by while she was out and kicked her or the blow to the head had counted as a hit.

Wincing against the pain as nearly every muscle in her body protested the movement, Chiu climbed to her feet. Walking gingerly to were Lunar Lotus had been thrown from her grasp she bent over to retrieve the blades and nearly vomited as a white hot lance of fire exploded behind her left eye. That wasn't good. The blow to the must have given her a concussion. Dazed, wounded, and half blind Chiu was now next to useless in a fight.

Tearing off a strip of fabric from her shirt sleeve Chiu fashioned a makeshift bandage and tied it tight over the wound in her forehead. It wasn't much, but it should keep the blood out of her eye. Taking up her blades again she started making her way towards the shouting. Hopefully in time to do something productive.

As the arrow makes contact with Marc's chest plate, the arrow shatters and lets loose a large cloud of smoke that covers the entire area. Due to the spin of Olyndicus, however, Marc quickly dissipates the smoke in front of him.

Anticipating an attack from Marc, Alex knew he had to keep moving. As soon as the arrow hits, Alex starts circling again, this time, stopping a quarter of a circle away from Chiu. By the time Marc reached Alex's position, Alex was long gone.

The smoke was a double-edged sword, though. Alex lost vision of Alani and didn't see her shoot from her Boom-orange. Luckily for Alex, the hit counter didn't go up because the smokescreen provided just the right cover for Alani to misjudge the shot. Some of the smoke cleared away and he could feel the shockwave from the explosion, hoping that the shot hit Marc as he got over there.

Once he started running, Alex kept launching throwing knives towards Marc's general direction, hoping to get another hit off as he reached for another arrow. He stopped in his tracks once he felt another shockwave from Chiu's location. He saw Chiu getting up, her movements sluggish. She must've gotten hit by the shot. Alex realizes that, should he rush to her aid, they were sitting ducks. If he had to tend to her wounds, they would have lost the round for sure.

Alex couldn't take that chance. He readies a white-tipped arrow, preparing to fire once the smoke cleared.

OOC: So, in case it wasn't clear in my post, Alex basically kept running once the arrow hit because he knew that Marc would charge at him (in the direction the arrow came from, not because Alani pointed him out).

Alani saw Alex as she was in the air, but by that time, the smoke was already covering the area; so she saw where Alex was for a brief second, then the smoke fully covered Alex, and at the same time, she shot.

By the time the shot reached Alex, it would be behind him, but he was well clear, since she didn't have the opportunity to actually judge Alex's top speed.

Alani checked her device only to realize that it only counted the hits against her. Unable to see where her first shot went, she couldn't confirm the hit and only hoped her shot had made contact. After putting away her tracker, Alani looked back at the two points she had last spotted her enemies, though it was tough with the smoke filling the air. At the very least she was able to spot Marc moving in for an attack.

Alani knew what she had to do and began releasing her Boom-orange from its locked position. "Heads up!" she yelled out before throwing it into the opaque air. The rotation of the weapon provided enough wind to clear out most of the smoke, though not all of it. With her accuracy, and a bit of luck, the boomerang would circle around the field and clear the smoke in front of Marc as well to give him a better view of his enemy.

Seemingly unarmed with her Boom-orange out of her hands, Alani hopped away to another tree and kept moving. The last thing she wanted was to be an easy target. Besides that, moving forward meant being able to retrieve her weapon that much faster.

Marc looks in annoyance when he sees the enemy has seeming disappeared. "Get back here, coward!" he shouts in annoyance, smashing Olyndicus into a tree.

Pulling away after his frustration has been dealt with, Marc sees the knives headed in his direction. Smirking, he dodges them quickly, running in their direction. 'I've got you now.' he smirks, suddenly changing Olyndicus' form.

Twisting the dial on the now elongated hilt, Marc shoots and and around Alex's feet with the loaded ice dust. Once the sneaky character had no where to run there was nothing stopping Marc forming giving him a face full of spiraling metal.

After few moments Chiu's aura started to heal some of her minor injuries little by little. It wasn't much, she was still concussed and the gash still bled, but at least now it didn't feel like her head was going to explode with every heart beat. Just every breath.

The coughing burp of machine gunfire caught her attention. It was close, but not aimed at her. This battle was one surprise after another. First orange hair decides to show off her bombs and now the spearman is demonstrating his weapons variable functions. She assumed it was spearman at least. She hadn't exactly asked her partner to detail his armaments, but he seemed to favor stealth and subtlety. If there is one thing multi-barrel machine guns weren't it's subtle.

"Sh*t!" Alex thought, as he heard the machine gun barrel spin up. He knew that he wouldn't be able to dodge all the shots without some help, but Chiu still seemed to be disabled for the time being.

Once Marc started shooting, Alex released the arrow and shot the ground in front on him, creating a small wall of ice barely big enough to cover Alex's entire crouched body. But Alex knew that Marc's machine gun fire would mow it down fast, so he quickly turned around and ran straight back into the trees, hoping to use them as cover once more.

As he dodged through the trees, Marc's words echoed in Alex's head.

Alani managed to catch up to her Boom-orange, catching it as it swung back around. After surveying the area, she decided to meet up with Marc. At the moment it seemed their two opponents were still separated, a perfect opportunity to double-team the one Marc was chasing down. She'd worry about the other one later. 'Move as one,' Alani thought to herself, remembering Marc's words as she attempted to close the gap between her and her partner. Having the disadvantage of being slower, she let herself fall to the ground in order to run with a bit more speed.

Marc waste no time switching back to normal ammo, mowing down the ice in his way and starting to sprint after the enemy. Seeing him disappear into the trees, he scowls and changes the dial to fire dust. Hearing Alani come up, he turns to her.

"Now before you say anything, we aren't getting anywhere as long as these trees are here, and I'm not going to smash each one individually." Readying to fire, he glances to her. "I'll let you make the call" he tells her, watching the treetops, ready to ignite them. "Do we keep chasing him, go after the other, or burn these stupid trees to the ground?

Somehow Chiu had gotten around behind the enemy team. She wasn't sure how, and honestly she didn't care, but as the spearman's gun spun up she found herself emerging into a small clearing a few yards from the pair.

Logically Chiu realized orange hair probably hadn't intended for her attack to wound Chiu so badly. She couldn't have known how weak Chiu's aura was at the best of times. Even if she had, this was a fighting competition and Chiu couldn't take it personally. But as she emerged from the bushes and her eye locked onto orange hair's brown clad form logic flew out the window and Chiu realized two things. One, Chiu did take it personally. And two, she was pissed.

Transforming Lunar Lotus, she aimed both guns at orange hair's back. Enraged she half yelled, half growled a furious "YOU!!" And opened fire.

"What?! Are you craz-" Alani was cut off by a voice yelling out from behind her. She turned around only to see gunshots being fired directly at her by her injured opponent. It seemed Alani had done some significant damage with that one lucky shot, but now wasn't the time to focus on that. With those bullets whizzing by, Alani's only thought was, 'What is this girl trying to do, kill me?!' With no more time to think, Alani's instincts took over. Her body did its best to avoid harm by rolling away towards cover, but her reaction time just wasn't fast enough. One bullet caught her leg as she jumped to hide behind a tree. "Ahhh!!" Alani screamed out in pain. She knew it would happen at some point. Leather armor just wasn't enough against weapons of that caliber. The hole in her right boot was proof of that.

A sudden warmth rushed down her lower leg. It didn't take much for her to realize it was her own blood running down and staining her sock along with the inside of her boot. "Dang it..." Alani muttered to herself in frustration. Knowing that time was of the essence, she lowered and tightened the leather strap she already conveniently wore on her thigh in an attempt to slow down the blood loss. With that out of the way, Alani strapped her Boom-orange back onto her arm and prepared to attack, though she was waiting for just the right moment. For now, she remained behind the cover provided by good old mother nature. She'd have to thank her sometime.

Alex heard screaming coming from behind him. He couldn't recognize whether the voice was Chiu or Alani's. He wanted to check, but Marc wanted to blast a couple of holes into him. Alex knew the only way to shake off Marc was to either knock him out, or sneak out of the way. There was a miniscule chance of Alex being able to perform the first one, but the second one he could work with. The question was, how.

What Alex didn't realize, was that Marc ended up not chasing him after all, which he took a huge risk to find out; turning around in the middle of a chase. He decided that heading back would be the best decision, but going straight, wasn't. Alex circled around again, trying to locate the source of the scream. As he ran, he transformed War back into a pistol and loaded in ice bullets.

By the time Alex had reached the battle zone again, he could only locate Marc, who was standing out in the open and his partner, who, by the looks of it, was going crazy with rage. The blast must've clicked something together in her head to make her go wild. In any case, Alex kept circling, hoping that he could find Alani quick enough to get some hits in before she attacks Chiu again.

Circling around a quarter of a circle more and continuing ((Read as: "and kept going")), Alex spotted Alani hiding in cover behind a tree. Taking quick aim, he fired two shots from War in an attempt to either freeze her in place, or have the ice hit a tree and cut her. As he kept circling, Alex got vision of Marc again, and saw that he still hadn't turned his attention to Chiu. Alex quickly fired four more shots from War at Marc, hoping that at least some bullets, his and/or Chiu's, would hit.

OOC: Alex is in constant motion while this is happening.

Marc didn't know what to think in the chaos of what was happening. First he had to deal with the insane girl, then he felt his feet frozen in place. 'Its not ending like this.' he thinks to himself, deciding what he will do.

Aiming at the direction of the shots, Marc fired at the trees, setting them ablaze and making sure to fire near the inraged girl. It was not the greatest plan, or the safest, but it would get them out of this situation if it worked.

Changing Olyndicus back to its primary form, Marc smashes the ice as his feet, then sprints at Alani, making sure to smash a tree to fall in the other girls direction. To be sure his partner isn't stuck, he slam the weapon near Alani's feet, in case she had been hit by the ice as well. He lifts her over his shoulder before starting to run away from the growing fire. He gradually moves inwards, back to the battle area.

Chiu dodged as the tree fell from her right. With the crash it hit the ground inches from where she had been. Vaulting over it's trunk she stepped up to where the enemy pair had been in the now flame encircled clearing, only to find them gone. Searching quickly she spotted spearman running back towards the prescribed battlefield, orange hair slung over his shoulder.

"Get back here you cowards!" She screamed enraged. "I'm not done with her yet!" Although her body still ached and her joints were still stiff, rage and adrenaline fueled her and numbed the pain. So feeling like she had in the beginning of the battle Chiu gave chase.

Alani couldn't even catch her breath before the next attack came. Ice crystals started to form a few feet to her left. As she flinched from the first shot, the second one managed to hit her Boom-orange, creating even more ice, though this time just inches from her face. Before she could even exhale, the ice beside her was smashed to pieces and she was in her partner's arm. "Woah!" She was lucky before, but now she felt more defenseless than ever. "What are you d-" Alani managed to lift up her head to see the blaze engulfing the greenery behind them. "What in the world did you do?!"

The buzzing alert went unheeded by Chiu. The voice of Professor Ospin emintating from it, however, did not. The recall order stopped Chiu in her tracks. Over? But she was so close. Orange hair had blown her up, and she had returned the favor by putting a round through the other girl's leg. 1:1 they were tied. Now this, Ospin was calling it a draw? It wasn't fair.

"Life was never fair." She reminded herself. "If it was the Ursas would have killed you and not Ce."

Sheathing her blades with a sigh, Chiu locked eyes with orange hair and forced herself to stand with her back iron bar straight. "I am Chiu Fong Wong formerly of Sanctum Academy, and I can live with a draw. For now."

Marc stops at the beeping and Ospin's voice, sliding to a stop as he hears the girl shout. He looks to Alani, panting. Running this much was a lot, even for him, and he needed to stop. Setting her down gently, Marc keeps their arms locked to hold her up.

Alani was surprised by the sudden announcement, but a good portion of her was glad it was over. After being set down Alani wanted to pull away, but she knew trying to stand on just one leg for long was probably not the best idea. Instead, she let Marc support a bit of her weight as she responded to her opponent. "Alani." She couldn't help but notice the blood and wrappings on the girl who stood before her and decided to question her. "Are you ok?" she asked cautiously and curiously.

As the adrenaline left Chiu's body, all the pain and weariness washed back in. Orange hair, no her name was Alani, stood across from her; spearman supporting her weight. "I'm not dead," Chiu answered. "So well enough. How's the leg?"

Alex heard Ozpin's voice loud and clear from his navigator, so he headed back to the battle area, where he saw his partner and two opponents resting.

Dropping in, he puts a hand on Chiu's shoulder and asks "Are you alright? I wanted to help, but I didn't want to risk losing."
