Third Team SNTS: 1st Training Day at the Temple [ CLOSED ]

"Okay. Now it's absolutely pulverized." Looking at the ashes that was once the Ursa, Hunter smiled and slapped Nigrum on the back. "Looks like you're gonna have fun for the next four years with her. Anyways, it's my turn." He jumped off the rooftop and after gracefully landing on the ground, he looked back up at the team.

"So. Who wants to unleash a force of death at their leader?"

"Oh I so call dibs on this" Nigrum said standing up. He clicked the ear of the panther a couple times causing the eyes to glow a bright yellow. He spun the panther between his fingers on with his right hand. With his left he pointed to the four remaining cages one by one, each a different size. "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, Catch a tiger by the toe, If he hollers, let him go, my mom told me to pick the very best one and that is," He sang, changing the cage he pointed to with each word. "YOU!" He pointed towards one of the medium sized.

He grasped the panther from it's spin which was positioned correctly in his hand. he stabbed forward with the point aiming towards the lock. A small ball of electricity fired from the end of the panther exploding the lock. Time to see what you can do Nigrum thought.

The Ursa burst out of the cage letting out a loud roar. It looked around the field seeing the bodies of two other Ursas and a smoking plot of grass. It then looked at Hunter whom seemed to be the only one who could have done this, having not looked at the roof of the temple. It let out a roar and charged towards him aiming to tackle him to the ground.

"Woah-woah WOAH!" Hunter dived to the side as the Grimm tackled the spot he was at only a split second ago.

This guy isn't a normal Ursa, he realized. Heavy armor plating, extra long spikes...

Yup. It's an Ursa Major. Difficult for most Huntsmen to kill. Fortunately, Hunter was not like most; he had his sword.

As the Ursa recovered from its dive, Hunter held the Metaruhōku up to the side of his face, pointed it at the Ursa Major, and after charging the red fire Dust cores, he delivered an eight slash attack at the beast.

The blade sliced through the Ursa's skin causing is to bleed in several places, some of the strikes bounced off of it's armor saving it from a bit of damage. The Ursa backed away from Hunter for a moment before running at him and swinging at him with it's left claw aiming more to clothes line him with the strike and leave him open for a better follow up attack.

After eight consecutive hits, Hunter began circling the Ursa and brought up his sword. It was amazing how such a brute could withstand the slash of a wingbuster sword. The ursa began charging again with its arm up.

Ursa Major attacking with left --> move to right.

He rolled to his right while swinging, dismembering the giant beast's arm.

The Ursa's arm stuck the ground with a heavy thud. It let out a loud roar and turned back to the teen charging at him aiming to tackle him again. It's run was strange due to it missing it's left arm.

Heh. "BLAZE." Hunter's sword burst into red flames. He eyed the ravine on the other side of the Forest Temple. The Ursa, which jumped at him, was right between him and the ravine.

Here comes the finishing touch, he thought. Hunter swung. The wingbuster's impact sent the beast flying towards the remains of the Forest Temple in the middle of the ravine.

Nigrum gave a few claps as the Ursa fell into the Ravine. "Good job Hunter." he said, "So what's next?" he asked, "I don't really feel up to another round of Ursa. Plus we only have 3 left."

Flying back up to the roof, Hunter says, "We've got two cages that are the same creature inside, both holding Major Nevermore. The last one has something special inside it. I don't know what it is; Port wouldn't tell me. Nigrum, you and Kait get to sit this one out first. Shem, you're with me."

Shem stands up and stretches. "Sound good." He picks up his large sword and walks up to Hunter.

"Okay then. Shall we?" Hunter jumped off the roof and landed with a roll. "Nigrum. Care to do the honors again? Or how about you, Shem?"

Shem jumps down to Hunter and stretches. "Eh, I can see what I can do."

OOC: I actually need to focus more on my studies. Currently have sub par grades so I'm not gonna be able to do that. Sorry guys. You can control it for yourself Wrecker, but be fair to yourself.

OOC: Two weeks later, and I finally post.


IC:
A sword beam launched, and the cage is opened. Hunter backed up a bit. "Alright, Shem. Remember, this is an abnormal Giant Nevermore. I don't know what makes it stand out from the others, but stay on your guard."


As the Nevermore:
Wings spread out, the bird raised up into the sky, circling around. Its prey on the ground could see that it was not black with white armor like most Grimm, but instead white feathered with black armor, adapted to the frozen wasteland of the Frost Forest. It cawed twice, spotting tasty food for it to eat.

"interesting color scheme.." Shem thought out loud as he hoisted Gleipnir up from his back and holds it in front of him, relaxed.

As the Arctic Nevermore
A squawk, and the Nevermore swung both its wings forward at the duo on the ground. Feathers flew, jabbing themselves into the ground. These feathers aren't normal as they might think, however...


As Hunter
As the feather spears flew by, Hunter dodged the ones he could. Left. Left. Left-right-left-right. Suddenly, he heard a large bang behind him, followed by a rain of ice, some of which cut his skin. He peeled his eyes away from the flying beast to see what had happened. Some of the feathers were exploding, sending snow and fragments of ice everywhere. If he had time, he could see that the feathers were laced with Ice Dust, somehow ingested by the Nevermore and flowing through its veins. Now, they were going off like grenades with bad fuses.

Hunter began to sprint, avoiding the explosions that went off like he was in one of those explosion-filled Baywood films and yelling. "Shem! We gotta find cover! NOW!" He looked at Nigrum and Kait, who were still on the roof and exposed to the beast. "NIGRUM! You and Kaitlin get down underneath the ruins! Use it as cover while we fight this thing!" As he serpentined his way around the randomly exploding feathers, Hunter launched a few fireballs at the airborne monster, most of which were too slow for them to reach it.


OOC: Dust-infused Grimm idea totally not stolen from Vox's exploding beowolves from Autunno Day 1.
