The Kitsune and the Fenghuang [Invite Only]

Katy blinked, following the other girl. "Pet.. Ursa Major," she repeated, blinking again. "It seems like you have quite the interesting family, Aoife," she said, still a little bewildered. Why would anyone want to even have a not-dead Grimm around? It seemed like a recipe for disaster. Katy couldn't even imagine how her parents would react if she came home with a pet Grimm.

Well, no. That wasn't true. She was reasonably certain they would kill it on the spot.

"So where to after this? That game store you were talking about?"

"Sure. T-Though, if anyone asks. I am eighteen and DON'T look at any of the games I buy." Blushing slightly, she would get to the front of the line, placing the clothing to get paid, taking out enough cash to pay for hers and Katy's , "You sure there is nowhere you want to go? I mean, I am going to give my bags to someone in the place I work to look after, so other than those three we will be free to do whatever."

Katy shook her head, looking out at the street through the window. "I've got nowhere in particular in mind. I don't mind tagging along with you, unless you didn't want me to. If you'd rather go to those stores you mentioned on your own I can always take this stuff back to the school and wait for you to get back?"

Katy thought for a moment, then let out a small 'oh' in shock. She had almost forgot the most important thing. "Wait! I was wrong. I do need to visit a weapons store. I spent almost all my ammo yesterday in the woods. I need to grab a few handfuls of bullets."

Smirking and exchanging the bags of clothes for cash, she would nod to her, "I would prefer the company. And shall we head to your store first then? Mine are not as important as yours is, so should get that out of the way first."

Katy grinned and exited the store, heading for the weapons shop she tended to frequent. The owner of the place was sort of a jerk, but it was one of the only places that carried the type of ammo she used. Upon entering, she immediately beelined for the ammo crates and, after a minute of careful browsing and checking various shots, she selected a few dozen shots and, then after a moment of thought, grabbed a few dozen more.

Upon reaching the counter and placing the bullets down for the merchant to count them, anyone standing close enough would hear a rather angry, "What!?" from Katy, before lowering her voice. The girl appeared to be engaged in a rather heated argument with the shopkeeper, before angrily reaching into her pocket to produce a Lien chip, slamming it down on the counter, scooping the ammo up, stuffing it into the pockets of her hoodie and storming out of the shop.

It was quite obvious Katy was furious; she was trembling with rage.

Melissa was on the hunt, on the hunt for a pair of dastardly criminals. She had searched all over town and beacon for them, but had had no luck so far with tracking down the evildoers. This was the last place she could think of - surely the criminals were here.

The two criminals who had left her doing the boring task of sleeping instead of something fun like going outside. How did she know they left outside? She didn't. But hunting them down, even if they weren't even out, had sounded like a fun thing to do at the time. Now she was wishing she had just gone out herself.

Regardless, the criminals would be brought to justice, one way or anothe- Did someone just shout?

Looking around, Melissa saw one of the criminals, walking out of some sort of weapons store, looking extremely angry. Obviously now would be the best time to ambush her from behind...

Approaching the very angry looking girl from behind, Melissa would attempt to grab her from behind, and shout, "CRIMINAL!"

Walking out a few moments after Katy, she would spot the person approaching her from behind with relative ease. Not realising it was Melissa, the second she grabbed Katy would be the moment she reacts. 'Just because she is a faunus, she is automatically a criminal!?' With one fluid motion, she would withdraw White Dragon from its sheath and point the sword form a few inches away from Melissa's neck, her voice full of anger and laced with malice, "I suggest you let go of my friend, or else you are leaving here with less blood than you started with. Say around the difference of all your blood then afterwards having none."

Katy, momentarily overwhelmed from her argument with the merchant, was not even aware of someone approaching from behind and was grabbed by the girl without issue. "I paid for that stuff fair and square," she immediately shouted the conditioned answer, squirming to get a better look at her assailant. Thankfully Aoife was there. That meant, at least, Katy wouldn't have to deal with a prolonged argument over whether or not she was, in fact, a thief.

Melissa, spotting Aoife approaching as well, but completely ignoring what she said or did, pointed at her, shouting, "OTHER CRIMINAL!" to her. So both of the criminals were here!

Suddenly, a thought formed in her mind - what if they were tired of her, what if they just kept her around to laugh at her craziness, like all her past 'friends', and had knocked her unconscious to keep her from coming? That was probably what was happening, now that she thought of it. The best thing to do, in Melissa's experience, would be to walk off and pretend she didn't see anything. That way she could at least have fake friendship for a while longer.

"Oh... Sorry... I'll just go then, I guess..." She said as she flashed the two a weak smile, before beginning to walk away, disheartened, but trying to hide it.

Until she realised who the one yelling was, she would keep the sword up at her, resisting the urge to introduce the neck and her blade into an intimate relationship. As she would sigh heavily, the sword would go away while saying loud enough for Melissa to hear, "Number one. Don't go around calling people Criminals, especially in a public place outside a shop. Second, if you want to stay you can, we are just going shopping. That is all. I mean, I was going to invite her round to my house, but I was also going to extend you that invitation when we get back, on a single condition."

Katy grabbed for Melissa's hand, offering the girl a genuine smile. "I was gonna leave you a note for when you woke up," she explained, "but I wasn't sure where exactly where we were going. Did you sleep well?"

She glanced around the streets nervously, trying to pull her hood down more. Her original outburst and the immediately following scene between the girls was causing some unwelcome stares from passers-by.

Melissa turned around, holding onto Katy's hand with hope in her eyes, "Really? You didn't ditch me and sneak out because you hate me? Really??" She asked, although deep down she was already doubting it was real, instead believing it to simply be a lie they had made up to cover up their trip without her, and indeed, this had happened to her before. Soon, they would probably make up some excuse to get her to leave. At least, they would if they were like her old 'friends'.

"You really think I would joke about this? Who do you think I am, if I offer an invitation to my home, it is because you are one of my true friends. And as you two are my only friends, I find it befitting of such." Despite saying that, she would go to take Katy's other hand and start pulling the two along, continuing, "Now. Shall we leave for the next store? And if you two are hungry, tell me and we can stop off and get something to eat. Plus could use it as a way to drop off the bags we have already."

Katy seemed genuinely confused by the girl's worry. Who could hate Melissa? Katy certainly couldn't imagine it. "Of course we didn't ditch you. I carried you to your room, y'know. If that didn't wake you up I figured you must really have needed to sleep," she said simply. Getting pulled along by Aoife, she grinned, her issues with the weapons seller forgotten. "Food? I could definitely eat," she answered.

'Maybe these two aren't like everyone else...? Maybe they're actually trustworthy...' Melissa thought to herself, as she looked at the two with a smile, although a voice in her head was almost shouting at her not to believe their lies. Even if they weren't to be trusted, she could allow herself to trick herself into thinking that she had found trustworthy friends. As long as she remembered that no one was trustworthy, she wouldn't be hurt, and she could at least feel like she had good friends in the short term.

"Food? I've been here before... there aren't any good candy stores here! This place sucks for food!" Melissa said, back to her normal self.

Looking at the two, she would lead them to her home pub, stopping and turning to look at the two, she would have a small frown on her face before speaking, "Right then candy eater, Katy. Would you rather eat here and have entertainment or go to a restaurant? I don't mind either but you said you wanted to see where I worked."

Katy weighed the options, almost immediately discarding the idea of going out to a restaurant. "I think I'd rather eat here, unless either of you two didn't want to," she answered, looking at the pub with interest.

After a moment of thought, she rummaged around in one of her pockets and produced the candy Melissa had traded her when they were in the woods, offering it to the hyperactive girl. "Here's some candy to help ya get through," she said, holding it out to Melissa.

Melissa accepted the candy with a look of delight on her face, before pulling out almost twice the amount that Katy had given her out of her pocket with the other hand, and began eating from both hands at once.

"I don't mind! I have candy!" She said, the words slightly muffled as her mouth was full of delicious sugar.

Rolling her eyes, she leads them inside. Being the usual atmosphere for the Hippogriff, a few patrons would be fighting, maids in the mix delivering drinks and food. By the counter, the picture of Lilliana, Aoife and the black haired girl would still be up, the young boy replaced by the father and evident landlord. Quickly being escorted to their seats,coming from a corner holding two girls and two men, Katy recognising the one in golden armour would be a loud voice, dominant over the noises of fighting and orders, "So there I was. Surrounded by twenty Beowolves. And by the end of the battle, twenty Beowolves knew what their gullets looked like!"

Katy quickly sat down, setting her bags down and sliding her rifle down under the table to lean against the booth seat, before looking around the room with some interest. It seemed like a very interesting spot. Eventually she zeroed in on the very loud man in the gold armor, listening in on his story with interest. Katy didn't particularly want to be a Huntress, but she did enjoy hearing stories from others.

"So you work here, huh? This seems like it could be a very hectic job,"she said, her attention still partially fixed on the boisterous fellow in the corner.

So shiny... Shiny shiny shiny shiny... That man has such shiny armour... Shiny like a... shiny thing...I didn't know anything could be so shiny and magnificent... It's like he's the God of shiny...

Melissa stared blankly at the gold-armoured man, a look of awe on her face as she stared at Mr Ultimate Shiny (Or rather, his armour, but it looked like she was staring at him), drool starting to form on the corner of her mouth as she imagined having that much shiny to herself. She had even stopped munching on the candy in her mouth, and a piece fell out as she stared at the shiny.

Spotting the group, the Golden armoured man spots Aoife and her compadres, laughing loudly, he takes out a pair of chains, "Hey! Don't think you are getting away with coming in here and not saying hello, Aoife." With that he would nudge the White haired titan. First using the chains to grab Aoife by the Arm, she would get yanked out of her chair and over to them, only for the Titan to grab her by the throat, launch her straight into the wall and then lastly get pulled back to the two girls, the group laughing as Aoife's head lolls and the chains retract.

Katy immediately snatched up her rifle, bracing it on the bench and aiming it directly at the guy, her finger hovering dangerously just over the trigger. Her accuracy was utter garbage in close range combat situations, but that's because the mental math involved in the calculations required at close ranges changed too quickly to keep up with.

Against a relatively still target, however, it was much easier. And it was easier still since they were indoors; she'd be aiming behind him, using the walls as landmarks.

"You've got three seconds to explain what the hell that was about before you get the honor of being the first human this gun puts a bullet in," she stated angrily. The consequences of actually firing her weapon indoors briefly flitted across the back of her mind, before being stubbornly dismissed.

Meanwhile, Melissa continued staring with awe at the ultimate shiny lord of shininess, seeing him throw Aoife with chains, and Katy aim her rifle at him, but not registering either in her mind, the shininess being too distracting. She considered moving to touch the shiny, and maybe take some of it for herself, but decided she was not worthy to touch the mighty shiny.

In response to the raised gun, the titan would simply sit down, while the two girls stand up. A Halberd/Rifle now pointed at Katy from Lilliana while the now Red haired woman would be surrounded with ten arrows floating by her, the golden man would simply lift a Drill at her, stating, "The reason I can do that? Because she is my sister. That is why. Now I suggest you put your gun down, or else O'Mally over there will have to call the police." Slowly getting up, Aoife would frown before looking at the two, "Want to meet my family without the weapons ready?"

Katy didn't move her gun right away. She was confident she could hit the trigger before any of the other weapons could stop her. She probably wouldn't be able to avoid anything, but she was sure she could take the guy down with her.

Glancing at Aoife, she finally scowled, putting up her rifle. "Not if they're going to keep acting like that," she snarled, ejecting the bullet, pocketing it, before replacing it with one of the newer ones. "Family's supposed to be the people you can count on, not get attacked by. It's.. not right."

Finally breaking out of her shiny-induced trance, Melissa blinked, realizing the implications of what had happened, and resumed munching on her candy, picking up the one that had fallen and putting it back in her mouth.

"You have a weird family." She said casually, taking brief glimpses of the shiny whenever possible.
