Hunting the Beast [Closed]

Vega moved toward the remains of his trap. He had the decency to dispose of the snack before the others arrived. He kneels down and shows them the tracks the beast made, the prints were deep from a great force pushing off them. "Judging by the prints it made and how deep they are its either very fast or very big. I'm thinking its fast. I wasn't gone for very long." Vega stands back up and dust himself off before checking his pocket watch. "I was here 5 minutes ago and it was heading east. The only thing in that direction is caves. It think we have it cornered."

As the trio headed east toward the caves they passed several overturned trees and broken branches. The beast was obviously larger than they had anticipated. As they reached the cliff face with the cave entrance broken into it they came to a stop.

A low guttural growl came out of the darkness of the cave before the beast itself stepped out. It was almost completely covered by black fur save for three white stripes that ran down the length of its body. It had a bone armor mask along with four red eyes and one larger one in between the other four. Out of it's forehead sprouted two small, white horns and out of it's shoulder blades sprouted two much larger bone spikes that curved forward and split off into two different spikes. Along the rest of it's back it had three medium sized bone spikes down along each side of it's back ending in a large, fairly bushy tail. It seemed as if it stood a whole ten feet at the shoulder when on all fours. It snarled and showed its double row of razor-sharp teeth before standing up on it's back legs and sniffed the air with it's elongated snout and showed off it's four dagger like claws on each paw. It seemed to be over twenty feet long from head to tail. It then slammed back down onto all four paws, facing the trio directly now.

"Well..." Malina said as the Porusk faced her and her two teammates. "Looks like we have an actual challenge." She smirked and un-holstered Summer's Blaze and let Manticore unravel from her waist.

Vega tugged at his gloves and started to let his aura channel through the spools on his wrists. The wires around the spools suddenly came to life and started wrapping around each other making thicker wires. "Malina that RV better be worth it. We need to kill it quickly before it escapes again." Vega moves his hands away from his body and begins to manipulate the wires. He begins by setting up a perimeter around his team and the Porusk using half of his wires. The rest of the wires he separates into thinner sets and begins lashing at the Porusks eyes. "First we reduce its ability to avoid us. Then we remove its ability to maneuver all together."

The porusk quickly lowers it's head head down and charges with its shoulder spikes. As it lowers it's head Muzen's stinger blade shoots forward and is caught in between the Porusk's shoulder spikes.


As Muzen shot forward she raises Summer's Blaze fired two repulsion dust rounds into the Porusk's side knocking him out of the way of Vega.

The Porusk, with Muzen still hooked onto it's shoulder spikes, was knocked of it's intended path and now headed back towards the woods. As the beast approached the tree line of the forest it twisted and lunged it's shoulder toward one of the trees and slid toward it with Muzen caught between the tree and the Porusk. When thhe three objects collided against each loud cracking and splintering could be heard as the tree cracked in the middle and toppled over along with Muzen. The beast now turned it's attention back to the two on the other side of the clearing. It reared up on its hind legs and let out a loud roar before falling back on all fours. It lowered the front of its body before leaping through the air directly at Vega and Malina.

Vega didn't have much time to react as the Porusk charged toward him and Malina. He quickly wove wires into a stronger set and wrapped them around a nearby tree. The Porusk was feet away, coming closer to the two. Vega moved toward Malina and grabbed her around the waist. She won't like this one. As he he held he manipulated his wires into pulling him and his companion toward the tree and away from the Porusk's line of destruction. Vega could already feel the physical strain it took to pull both him and Malina in such a rapid manner and started breathing heavily. Somehow between moments of catching his breath Vega managed to get a sentence out. "So..any..ideas?"

"Um...." Malina thought for a moment and looked down from the tree at the beast. "Well it's fast, we need to stop that. If I could get close enough to cut its legs with Manticore then that could paralyze it long enough to kill it. After that it still has the teeth and the armor but without its speed that shouldn't be a problem." She looked back up from the Porusk at Vega. "Any idea that can get me close to it without me needing stitches?"

The Porusk crashed into another tree, knocking it over, while Malina formulated the plan. Recovering from the crash it steadied itself once more and focused its five eyes on Muzen once more.

Vega listened to Malina talk about her plan but his labored breathing made her a little hard to hear. He holds his hand up signaling to give him a moment to catch his breath. After a few seconds Vega fixes his tie and looks back to Malina. "We need to distract it from two different different directions. You stay in the tree while Muzen and I tire it out. When we bring it back toward you, jump on its back. It will be tired but it will still be a very bumpy ride. It's the only plan I can think of."

Vega jumps down from the tree and moves the Strings of Fate around him. "Muzen we have to get serious this time." Vega notices the Porusk is staring at Muzen. "The beast seems to have targeted you, don't get killed. I will try flanking it from the right." Vega's wires begin to move more violently and start to form thicker sets as he prepares to attack the Porusk.  As soon as he is satisfied with the strength of the wires Vega darts away from Muzen and arrives at a spot near the Porusk in it blind spot.

Sylvian has come, maybe it was abit late, cuz when she arrived at the meeting point Vega gave her, the battle has already moved away from that spot. It took a long time for her to follow the traits. What in front of her is a chaotic battle between a group of Huntsmen and an enermous Grimm creature. She finds Vega among the Huntsmen group, setting a wiretrap to entangle the beast. The others are a girl (with scorpion tails) standing still and plotting something, and a flying-man (for real?) distracting the beast without any real result.

"Guess I'll do it my way..." Sylvian engages her combat mode with Impala Gracia in shield-form. She unlocks the dust valves on her armor and starts to unleash her aura along with the dust. This should catch the attention of everyone without the noticing of the Grimm creature since they cannot sense aura or alike. "C'mon Vega, catch my aura."

Vega had been on  guard making sure nothing around him was changing hoping to keep the defenses up. Out of the corner of his eye he sees a strange change in scenery which draws his attention, its Sylvian the girl he befriended earlier. He quickly waves to hear to signal he knows she is here while returning his attention back to the Porusk when a thought crosses his mind. I forgot to tell Malina...this may not end well.

The Porusk lowered itself so the blade instead cut through the side of it's body, however the beast's thick fur wouldn't allow it to become too deep. It then turned and pounced toward Muzen with it's razor sharp claws extended and showing off it's rows of teeth.

All the while Malina stood in the tree, waiting for the Porusk to pass under her. Something was wrong though. Something was there that wasn't supposed to be. There was something...She looked around the clearing until she spotted the anomaly in the field. A silver haired woman stood at the edge of the clearing ready to attack the beast. To Malina it appeared as though it was another huntress come to steal her job and reward. She wasn't going to let that happen. SHe checked Summer's Blaze and reloaded both before firing to rounds, an ice and electricity round respectively, at the woman's feet as a warning.

"Watch where you're looking Muzen!" Vega turns toward Muzen as the Porusk charges toward him and the tree Malina is in. He sends his wires in thick sets and wrap them selves around Muzen making sure not to damage his wings. Who flies head first into a tree! Vega pulls as hard as he can on the wires and is able to bring Muzen toward him and away from the Porusk before it hits the tree. "Malina its your turn." Vega begins to unwrap Muzen while breathing heavily. "Where...were...you..looking?"

Malina looks between the Porusk about to hit the tree she stood in and the girl standing at the edge of the clearing. 'Shit.' She quickly holstered her weapon and jump off of the branch as the Porusk slammed into the tree and toppled it. She aimed herself to land in between the two shoulder spikes and as she landed on its back she wrapped her arms around the base of the spikes and held on for her life.

The Porusk began stomping and shaking its back as it realized there was a human on its back. It slammed into another tree in an attempt to get the pesky annoyance off of its back before it noticed another human by the edge of the clearing. It lowered its head and began to charge forward toward the unknown menace.

"Try to keep it calm! Scorpion girl!!" Sylvian yells, as she realized the situation is turning worse. She quickly charges in with her destructive dash and takes the Porusk head-on before it can go into rampage.

"I don't know if I can hold it for long... Do something Vega!!" Sylvian holds the Porusk down with both of her Impala Gracia pierced into the skin of the beast, releasing dust non-stop to maintain her strength.

"I got it Sylvian!" Vega rushes over to the Porusk, releasing as many wires he can muster. Most of the wires are made into his thickest sets and are attached to trees to hold the beast down. He saves a few wires and keeps them at their sharpest while wrapping them around one of the Porusk's legs. "Let's see how hard you can push on three legs!" Using all his strength to keep the Porusk down and applying pressure to its legs Vega is able to slice through the leg severing it from the body. The Porusk falls to the ground not be able to balance itself on only three legs along with the pressure of Vega's wires.

With the Porusk on the ground Malina took the chance to cycle through the chamber on Manticore until it stopped on her fast acting poison. Manticore quickly jabbed itself into the back of the beasts neck and injected the purplish blue liquid into its body before Malina jumped off it's back and onto the grass to watch it die.

The Porusk felt a sharp jab into its neck and let out a loud yelp...or as close to a yelp as a Grimm could get. It struggled to stand upright so it could crawl back into its cave to die in it's own home but ended up flailing its two remaining legs as the poison set into. In it's final moments the movements slowed down and finally stopped. Now shortly afterwards the beast began to dissolve into smoke and rise into the air leaving blood stains and its weight imprint on the grass.

Malina breathed heavily for a moment before catching her breath and turning toward the unknown girl. "Who...the hell...are you?" She asked, slightly annoyed.

Sylvian, breathing heavily as she's almost exhausted from the strength boost earlier, tries her best to keep her stance, until the beast completely stopped. She disengages her shields, walking toward Vega and the rest of the team.

"Vega... asked me to do this proposition yesterday..." She's still in the catch of her breath. "The name is... Sylvian Silverhorn." And turns her head toward Vega, asking for a little bit of introductions.

After the whole ordeal of keeping the beast down and cutting its leg off Vega was exhausted his breath was ragged. Seeing Malina move toward Sylvian he remembered he forgot to mention Sylvian to Malina and Muzen. He moved over as quickly as his body would allow. "Malina this is Sylvian. I met her the other day at the gym and asked her to help us." Vega turns to Sylvian having caught his breath. He fixes his suit as best he cans and gestures to the others. "Sylvian I'd like to introduce you to the team here we have Malina our leader and the one who flew into the tree is Muzen."

"G'day? G'day!?" She says with a brief, angry, glance toward Muzen before looking at Vega. "Why did you think we needed someone else!? We did fine on our own as a team! We don't even know who she is, let alone without telling your teammates!" Malina rants on, obviously angered. "How are we supposed to share the reward with her, that RV was for US not some b.....person we've never met! We didn't need her help. In fact, she didn't even help at all!" She turns her head back to Muzen for a moment. "And you 'lover boy', You coulda gotten yourself AND myself killed because you were too busy gawking at her!" She said, finally turning her head to the person in question with the last word.
