Alice's Adventure in Karaoke Night [Invite only]

The lights around Liseran blinked slightly as Caster was pulled down towards Rider, but he quickly corrected the problem and looked at Rider with narrowed eyes.

'What the hell are you doing, Rider? Fine, is it a show you want?' he thought, lightening his expression and slowly stroking a hand down one of Rider's fluffy white ears.

"Love, is now really the time for this? The lady of honor is singing." Caster spoke softly, leaning his face down closer to Rider's with a look in his eyes that mixed annoyance and portrayed love. "I would hate for us to create a scene."

Dusk was smiling up at Liseran and the beautiful song she was singing. He thought, So many nice singers here. He turned slightly before something caught his eye. He thought out loud, "What in the world are those two doing?" He was looking at Caster and Rider a bit confused.

Mirai had found it funny at first but the more she looked, the more she realized Caster and Rider were going to be playing a game she wasn't going to like. She walked over to them and held them both by the back of their collars to pull them a tiny bit apart.

"Enough, you two men-lusters," Mirai said sharply. "Have you no consideration for the team's dignity?"

She looked calm but she was glaring at them in a warning manner.


When Caster had the lights focused on Liseran, she thought her heart was going to stop, but she continued to sing, her hand on her chest as she tried to put in every emotion to the song. She knew she meant every word she sang. How her life had been a series of dead unchanging events, how it was bleak and seemingly something she couldn't be rescued from...how Cheshire had changed all of that for her and showed her a new tomorrow. As she reached the chorus, she finally mustered the courage to look Cheshire straight in the eyes.

Stay by my side forever
Let's imagine the future for us
And smile, believing we can be happy

Forever and ever
I will be thinking of you
The dead end has gone, and the gate of tomorrow
Where today is leading to, is wide open

She stopped there as an odd heaviness hit her head. She grabbed it and her knees began to wobble. Rory stopped the song and rushed to her just in time to help her stand straight.

"You okay?" Rory asked. Liseran shook her head, not to say no, but to try and shake off the dizziness.

"Yeah, I think so," Liseran smiled sheepishly, though she gritted her teeth again afterwards. "I...must be sleepy, that's all. Or I just had a stage-fright attack, eheh..."

"Ah ha ha ha ha," Rider laughed nonchalantly as Mirai scolded them, "My my Mirai, I'd thought you would enjoy this type of thing. You aren't by any chance jealous are you?"

Cheshire glided over towards Liseran, placing a steady hand on her shoulder to support her. "Are you sure you're okay?" he asked. "Let me take a look at you..." Cheshire pressed his forehead against Liseran's to check her temperature. "I hope you're not sick or something..."

Byron chuckled, hanging his arms over Robin's shoulders, leaning on her casually. "Cute couple aren't they?"

Mirai stood back a bit surprised, her cheeks turning red. She crossed her arms before kicking at the wheels of Rider's chair. "Don't be ridiculous!" Mirai said. "I just think you two should keep your perverted boy love to somewhere more private. And no! Why in Remnant would I be a fan of men lusting over one another!? So quit it both of you, before I decide to stick C4 in your throats!"

Liseran looked at Cheshire sheepishly, her face still red though it seemed apparent now that it wasn't just because she was nervous.

"I'm fine," she pressed. When Cheshire would touch Liseran's forehead, he'd notice she was, in fact, turning feverish.

Rider raised his hands to the air with a shrug and and casually rolled backwards, away from Caster. "As you wish, princess."

"You are not fine," Cheshire deadpanned, "You have a fever."

Cheshire practically dragged Liseran towards the closest chair and sat her down. "I need some ice," he announced. Pulling out a handkerchief and started dabbing Liseran's forehead.

"Allow me," Shen said, walking towards them. "Please give me that cloth."

Cheshire did as requested and Shen took it with one hand while bringing his hookah to his lips with the other. Breathing it quickly, Shen separated the pipe from his mouth and breathed into the handkerchief. When he hands it back the Cheshire, a ball of ice the size of a fist was in the handkerchief. Nodding his thanks, Cheshire pressed the handkerchief and cloth against Liseran's head.

"How do you feel right now?" Cheshire asked worryingly. "Any aches or pains? Nausea?"

Mirai looked at Caster and Rider sharply. "Good." she said. "You were beginning to creep out that girl over there."

She jerked her head to motion to Alice. She then sat herself in a chair and turned to Caster. "By the way, Caster, you have yet to sing. Why not give the mic the try? I don't expect you to be singing your love songs to Rider now, go that?"


"I'm fine..." Liseran slurred. "Really I am...it's just left over exhaustion, I think..."

Her eyes were beginning to droop. Rory looked at her sternly.

"Lise, did you get any rest after this 'test' of yours?"

"I slept four hours," Liseran said plainly. "Isn't that enough?"

She groaned a bit before clutching the ice and Cheshire's hand. "I'm fiine...."

"No you're not," Cheshire said sternly, his eyes narrowing. "After all that trouble, you need a lot more sleep than that. Lye down."

"I'll go get some herbal tea," Shen said turning around. "It's good for fatigue and will help her relax."

"Guys, please, I'm fine..." Liseran urged. Rory frowned and placed her hands on her hips.

"Lise, I think I should take you home..."

Liseran was about to protest but another spout of dizziness hit her. "I'll go home by myself. I'll take Rar-rae"

You are not driving in this state," Cheshire said sternly, now glaring at Liseran.

Rory placed a hand on Liseran's shoulder.

"I'll take you home," Rory said firmly. "I'm sure Rae-rae can stay behind tonight and we can get her in the morning or something."

"Are you crazy??" Liseran said half-yelling, though she had no real energy to do it. "Something like Rae-rae would bound to get stolen."

She groaned again holding her head.

Cheshire sighed. "I'll take you home on the Rave- Rae Rae then. I need to visit our daughter anyway."

"So the age of consent is at a young age here," Lao Tzu exclaimed.

Rory frowned at Lao Tzu. "Err...not exactly..."

She turned to Liseran. "Lise, I think you should let Cheshire take you home."

"But-"

"Go on," Rory said sternly. "You'll have us all worried if you don't leave now."

Liseran lowered her head. "I'm sorry..."

She held Cheshire's hand and before they exited she turned to Alice. "Enjoy the rest of the night, all of you," Liseran said. "And congratulations once again, Alice. I hope you have a fine time at Beacon."

With that, Liseran hazily led Cheshire to the Raven, shining in the dark, and they made their way back to her cottage on the cliff. The lights were still on and a few voices could be heard.

"Bell, you need to go to bed!" an elderly voice said.

"But Mama is here! I know she is and Papa, too!"

Liseran and Cheshire came to the door and before Liseran knocked, she looked at Cheshire apologetically. "Sorry about all this...I must've ruined the night..."

"Not at all," Cheshire smiled. "There's going to be plenty of people there anyway and I wanted to see our daughter."

Putting his arm around Liseran's waist, Cheshire opened the door.

Rory watched as they went and sighed. "Well, that's one event wrapped up for tonight." she told Lao Tzu. "And it also looks like I should be going, too...I have an early maid shift tomorrow. Would you like to stay a bit though, Lao Tzu?"

"No," Lao Tzu said plainly, "I will escort you back home. I can not allow you to go back on your own."

Shen may say so, but considering his constantly shifting eyes it seems that he just feels awkward about socializing by himself.

Caster watched the scene, rubbing the back of his neck and tilting his head. He wanted to say something, ask if he could help, anything really, but it seemed like the situation was handled. Turning away from what was going on to Mirai, he nodded.

"I'm not really a singer, but I see no harm in it." Caster laughed nervously. "So I'll sing a song to you!" He walked onto the stage, his fingers beginning to idly fool with the tubing in his gloves. After choosing the song, he took a deep breath he tapped the mic, giving a small smile.

"Sorry if I hurt your ears." he said into the mic before the song Pierrot came onto the screen and Caster began to sing.

"It's okay, It's alright.
To play the fool has always been my plight.
In this tiny circus show, I'm the nameless Pierrot."

As the music began to pick up Caster gripped the mic, his foot tapping slightly with the music and a grin growing on his face.

"As I try to balance in the center
of a ball as round an shiny as the moon.
It's my job to trip and fall for laughter,
but I just get back up and smile like a buffoon."

Dusk sighs when Cheshire leaves with Liseran, Well there goes the one person I knew before coming here. Where are those two? He decides to stop thinking about it and walks over to the lady of honor.

"I don't believe I've formally congratulated you, Alice. Welcome to Beacon," he said to Alice.

"Oh, uh, thank you," Alice murmured. "You're Cheshire's new teammate right?"

"Yeah, that's right," Dusk answered happily. "I guess that means we're kind of in the same boat." Dusk's smile falters as he glances to the side, "Although..."

"Although, what?" Alice asked curiously, tilting her head to the side.

Mirai listened as Caster sang and though he sang rather proficiently, Mirai noted something off. She continued listening regardless, and smiled pleased with his voice.

"Okay," Rory smiled as she held Lao Tzu's hand. "But before we do..."

Rory moved over to Alice and Dusk. "Hi there! I'm Rory Veiller, Lise's cousin. She said you got accepted into Beacon so I wanted to congratulate you. Uh, I don't have a gift as pretty as hers. But I wanted to ask if you and your friends were into concerts."

"I don't know. It just doesn't seem like I'm a part of the team," Dusk replied. "All they seem to want to do is read and keep conversations short. I don't know if it is because I wasn't a part of their team in the beginning, or what. It just seems like they don't care that I'm there." Dusk usually doesn't get worried, however his eyelids were drooping at this moment in slight sadness.

As Rory walked over, Dusk quickly hid his sadness with a smile. "Hello Rory. I guess I don't mind concerts," he answered.

"I've never been to one but I hear they're fun," Alice answered.

Rory's smile grew wider.

"That's great!" she said. "Because I happen to be an events promoter and I have these on hand."

She took out a clutch purse and pulled out a bunch of tickets and cards and looked at Dusk and Alice. "Are you or your friends fans of Kara?"

Dusk smiled in a confused way. "I have no idea who that is. Also, I haven't seen any of my friends since I joined Beacon," he responded.

"Hm," Rory frowned at Dusk. "She's a popular singer and Lise mentioned Cheshire liked her so I thought it'd be crowd favorite. There will be other singers at that concert too."
