10 years on the clock [Closed]

"Dad... Dad... Daddy.... Dad" Jacob's eyes turned from the axe in his lap, to the small dragon boy tugging on his sleeve. The child's eyes were the same vivid green as Jacob's own.
"Yes Toraid?" he sighed, trying to hide his exasperation
"I'm hungry" Jacob sighed and prut Jernulv to one side, just beyond the child's reach and tucked the boy under his arm, carrying him across the room. He paused for a few moments before looking down at Toraid
"Where's your sister?"

A quiet grinding sounds echoed down the hallway as Hira sharpened Convergence, ignoring the loud snoring coming from Kokkino. A small girl with wolf ears sat to one side, watching as the whetstone ran across the blade repeatedly.
"Mom. Mom. Mom."
The dragoness attempted to ignore the small child, only to get poked in the ribs. She yelps loudly, staring at the child. "What, Gwyn?"
"Hi." The small child said with a grin.
"You're going to be the death of me some day..." Hira mutters as she sets the whetstone aside, retracting Convergence.

Jacob carried Toraid through into the main chamber where the fire was crackling. Plonking the child down Jacob retrieved a n Elk leg and began to cook it over the fire. Growing bored Toraid quickly took to scaling his father, clinging to his shoulder to watch the food cook. Jacob reached up and ruffled the boy's hair affectionately. The Elk finished cooking and Jacob sat the boy down with the entirety of the leg
"Don't eat it too quickly" he instructed. Though this was quickly ignored as the child tore into the meat, tearing great chunks out of it and occasionally forgetting to chew. "I swear the boy has a tapeworm" Jacob chuckled to himself. He left Toraid to his food and went in search of Gwyn.

When Jacob finds Gwyn, Hira, and Kokkino, he walks in on them all sleeping in a large snoring pile. Kokkino is slightly off to the side, sprawled all over the place while Gwyn is laying directly on Hira, wolf ears occasionally twitching.

Jacob stood in the doorway, watching them, smiling to himself.

A small groan comes from Hira as she slowly awakens, her golden eyes opening as she tries to move. "Ah curses..." She mutters to herself as she notices the child sprawled across her and the grown woman clutching onto her arm. "We'll isn't this just a fine position."

Jacob chuckled, he walked over and lifted the sleeping girl off of her mother and held her in his arms for a few moments, she mumbled in her sleep and nuzzled the fur cloak draped over his shoulders
"You're going to have to get Kokkino off yourself" he winked.

Hira groans loudly and starts attempting to pry the bandaged female off her arm. "She's... so... strong!" The dragoness says through gritted teeth.

Balancing Gwyn with one arm, Jacob leaned over and made an attempt at loosening Kokkino's grip
"Try to wriggle your arm out" he hissed, using his foot to aid his efforts.

Hira pulls her arm out from the blademaster's grip, falling off the bed when she does so. "Eep!"

Jacob tried to make a grab at her but missed, cursing under his breath
"You ok?" he walked around the bed and offered Hira a hand.

Hira sticks her arm straight up, giving him a thumbs up. "Just great." She says before grabbing his hand and pulling herself to her feet. "Ach, that old scar from the Gafflynder battle is acting up again..." She groans out.

Jacob looked a little concerned, he set Gwyn down beside Kokkino and walked back over to Hira
"Still?" he sounded a little concerned "did you want me to put some more ointment on it?"

The dragoness sits heavily in a chair off to the side, grunting and screwing up her face as she does so. "No... I'm good. I just need to sit down for a few minutes."

Jacob sat down on the bed, fixing Hira with his now two toned gaze
"Did you want something to eat? I've already refueled Toraid, you never told me dragon kids eat that much" he chuckled.

Hira giggles. "Sorry dear, I thought you would have caught on with me. But yes, it would be nice for you to get me something."

Jacob nodded before walking through into the main camber, Toriad was gnawing on the elk's thigh bone grunting as he tried to find and scraps still sticking to the bone. Jacob retreived a slightly smaller portion of meat from the larder and began cooking it over the fire. Toraid immediately discarded his bone and stood over the fresh food, licking his lips in anticipation
"This is for your mother" Jacob cautioned
"Can I just have a bit?" the boy pleaded, Jacob tapped the scar running downwards across his right eye
"This is what happens if you steal Mummy's food" he warned. Toraid looked unconvinced
"You said a Grimm did that" he folded his arms across his chest as if interrogating Jacob, the wolf laughed, retrieving the meat and a wooden platter
"You're clearly more clever than I am Tor" he winked and ruffled the boy's black hair, taking care to avoid the small stumps that where his horns.

Hira stands and extends the staff portion of Convergence before using it as a walking stick. She walks out to the main chamber, sitting down by the fire with a slight huff. "Bah, freaking stupid walkers..." She grumbles to herself in annoyance.

Jacob handed her the platter and sat down beside her, throwing an arm around her and pulling her a little closer. Toraid, still eyeing Hira's foot, sat on the other side of her and rested his chin on her arm.

Hira looks down at Toraid with a pointed look. "You've been fed. If you need more food, go bother Arnkeiger." She says before tearing into the elk.

Toraid pouted folding his arms across his chest and staring into the fire. Gwyn appeared in the corridor, rubbing her eyes
"Kokkino kicked me out of bed" she moaned
"Did you kick her back?" Jacob raised an eyebrow. Gwyn nodded "That's my girl" Jacob smiled. The small girl padded through to the fireside and set herself down, resting her head on Jacob's lap.

A loud knock on the door interrupts the temporary silence and Hira looks at Jacob. "Would you?"

Jacob got to his feet and walked over to the heavy wooden door, he tugged it open. A tall cloaked figure stood outside in the snow. Jacob sniffed the air for a few moments before his expression softened
"Silfurion" he opened the door a little wider to allow the marksman entry "to what do we owe this visit?"

The tall man ducked to enter the carved house, his face still concealed by the cloak. "I just thought about dropping in." He mumbles, his voice quiet and gravelly. He pulls the hood of the cloak back, his shoulder length reddish hair gleaming slightly in the light. "I see the young ones are still being as bothersome as ever."

Hira grins up at the sniper, cocking her head slightly. "Brother, it isn't like you to just show up. You have a mission nearby, don't you?"

Gywn sat bolt upright before charging into Silfurion's leg and wrapping her arms around it. She peered up at him beaming.
"A handful, but never bothersome" Jacob grunted resuming his seat.
