10 years on the clock [Closed]

The tall man ducked to enter the carved house, his face still concealed by the cloak. "I just thought about dropping in." He mumbles, his voice quiet and gravelly. He pulls the hood of the cloak back, his shoulder length reddish hair gleaming slightly in the light. "I see the young ones are still being as bothersome as ever."

Hira grins up at the sniper, cocking her head slightly. "Brother, it isn't like you to just show up. You have a mission nearby, don't you?"

Gywn sat bolt upright before charging into Silfurion's leg and wrapping her arms around it. She peered up at him beaming.
"A handful, but never bothersome" Jacob grunted resuming his seat.

Silfurion chuckled and reached down, patting Gwyn on the head before prying her off his leg and walking into the main room. "Hira, your observation skills are as astute as ever. I have a marksman job nearby, so I decided to stop in to visit before I bloodied my hands once more."

"Grimm?" Jacob asked, still not entirely sure what sort of jobs Silfurion was taking nowadays. The man had specified military, but Jacob didn't know exactly what that would entail.

The sniper nods. "Big 'un too. It's been causing trouble for the villages at the base of the mountain so I was contracted to remove it."

Hira gives a worried glance. "Have you eaten? Of course you haven't, you eat rarely. Sit down. Jacob, be a dear and get Silf a haunch."

Jacob smiled to himself 'All I'm missing is the collar' he thought to himself, whilst verbally replying with a dutiful
"Yeah, I'll just go and get one" he trudged off into the larder to retrieve another chunk of meat "I may have to make a hunting trip to restock" he called back to Hira.

Silfurion sits heavily on the floor next to the fire, propping his rifle up against his shoulder.

The dragoness sighs and rubs her forehead. "Well isn't that just lovely. Have Arnkeiger join you, he also needs to restock."

Jacob returned, placing the meat on the fire and planting a kiss on Hira's forehead
"Calm down, I'll see to everything" he assured her.

With a loud yawn Hira stretches her arms and legs out before returning to her normal sitting position. "Hey, Silfurion. What was that method for maximizing output on a mechanical leg again?"

Watching the fire Silfurion responds. "Bypass the secondary rotary cuff and use flex tube to connect the primary and secondary input pipes."

Gwyn stared up at Jacob bewildered, only to see that her father's expression was much the same. Jacob shrugged before going back to tending to the meat above the fire.
"Can I have something Daddy?" Gwyn pleaded
"Only if you promise me you'll never date" Jacob replied, smiling slyly.

Hira leans over and slugs Jacob in the shoulder. "Be nice to the children." She chides.

"I'm protecting her, boys are animals" Jacob replied grinning. He retrieved the meat from the fire and put it on a plate for Silfurion, before resuming his seat for the umpteenth time.

With a slight bow of gratitude the sniper takes the plate and starts to tear into the meat, albeit much more slowly than the others.

"You mean like you were?" Hira says while idly playing with a bit of char.

"Still am" Jacob winked, the demeanor lost as soon as his daughter jumped into his lap.

Silfurion lets out a small chuckle as he finishes the meat and sets the bone on the plate. "So how's Kokkino? I hope she isn't sleeping all day still."

"More or less" Jacob replied, lifting Gwyn off of his lap and plonking her down next to him.

The sniper sets his rifle to the side before standing. "I'll go remedy that." He walks towards the bedroom, disappearing into the door.

Hira giggles loudly, covering her mouth with one hand. "Oh my, this is going to be great."

Jacob set his ears on point waiting for Kokkino's reaction, a smirk had already begun to materialize on his face in preparation.

A shriek pierces the air as Silfurion walks back out, Kokkino slung over his shoulder. "Come on now, stop squirming or I'll drop ya."

The blademaster flails about for a bit before groaning loudly. "And I was having such a great dream too..."

Jacob chuckled to himself, whilst Toraid and Gwyn howled with laughter at Kokkino's rude awakening.

Silfurion sets Kokkino down and looks down at her. "My my, you haven't grown a bit have you!" He laughs out.

Hira jabs the sniper with the poke of Convergence. "Be nice Brother."

Jacob grinned before snagging Toraid by the scruff of the neck and lifting him into the air. The boy had been using the commotion as a distraction to try and snag Silfurion's almost empty plate.

Kokkino nervously shifts from foot to foot. "Hehe... Well.... no. I didn't grow at all."

Hira lifts Gwyn into her lap and looks pointedly at the embarrassed Blademaster. "You're the one who said short is better."

Jacob smiled
"Makes you harder to hit after all" he joked.

The sniper give Jacob a look. "I'm perfectly hard to hit!" He says before groaning as Kokkino slugs him in the stomach. "Ow.."

"Not sure on that Silf" Jacob grinned.

The redhead picks up his heavy rifle. "Eh. Either way, I'm off to that mission. Thanks for your hospitality." He says before trudging towards the door.
