The Third Arrival [Open]

Nathaniel pounded through the corridor, down the stairs, and out through the main entrance. Damn whatever rules they had in place, Mike was going to suffer. He spotted him as he ran past, and dropped to one knee. Not bothering to fix a scope, he took a snap shot as Mike ran past. The sonic boom echoed out and a nearby fountain exploded. Damn.
Back on his feet, he sprinted after the fleeing boy, reloading as he went. Water began to flood the courtyard behind him.

Markus softened his own landing with a small propulsion blast from his gauntlet, and was nearly deafened by the sonic blast from his teammate's weapon. His shoes splashed against the wet concrete as he quickly approached Nathaniel, hoping to calm him down. "Hey! Mike should'nt've touched your chest that many times, but we can forgive and forget, can't we?"

"I can't believe he's actually firing that thing", Lucius remarked as he heard a very loud and familiar gun shot. He couldn't reach to where Nathaniel was because he was too far away so he tried to run as fast as he can and tried to catch up to him as he was carrying his two shields.

Katy blinked, suddenly realizing how close her face was to Melissa's, and straightened back up while trying to fight off an embarrassed blush. "Well, um.. I'm glad you're OK," she said, following it quickly up with, "I-I mean, if you had gotten really hurt you wouldn't have been around to give me this tour!"

Reasserting her hold on Melissa's waist to stay steady on the motorcycle, Katy cast about for something else to say. "So, um.. it sounds like there are a lot of fights here, right? Is that normal?" From the sounds of it, it seemed like the front of the school saw a surprising amount of action. Katy hoped there were at least some quiet parts, or she'd never be able to sneak in a good amount of napping.

"Yeah and I am in nine out of ten of them what happen in a day." Says Aoife, trying to think up more places to show but failing. Driving back to outside the CAKE dorm, she stops the motorbike and looks back at them, "Final stop, we will have to continue the rest of the tour on foot or I will probably have the Guard on me. Again."

"U-Umm yeah, exactly! Then you might have been stuck with a boring dull tour given by an underpaid teacher!" Melissa said, her face close to erupting in a blush. She got off the motorcycle and moved towards the dorms, "Well as you can say, this is the dorm! Where people sleep together!" She blushed as she realised what she had unconsciously said, "Umm I mean where they sleep together in the same room! Different bunks!"

"Should we go in? We can show you what the rooms look like I guess, even though you don't have one yet!" She added.

Katy hopped off the motorcycle and brushed off any accumulated dust from her hoodie, hastily trying to fix her hair before tucking pulling her hood all the way up. "Sure," she responded simply, with a shrug. "I'll hafta see everything eventually, right? Might as well do this since we're already here."

Katy looked around as she headed for the doors to the dormitory, suddenly frowning. "Wait, if I don't get a room where do I sleep? I mean, I bet there's some spots out in the forest, but then I'd probably always be super late for classes..."

"You get a sleeping area outside of the dorms, don't worry." With that she would look at them and play with her own hair quickly, letting out the large plait and putting the helmet away. Already starting for the door, she would grab hold of both of their hands, tugging them along, "Which room shall we see first? Can go to either CAKE or yours Mel."

"Yours would be best, my dorm just has a grumpy guy, a quiet leader who hardly says or does anything, and a somewhat cooler guy, so I don't feel like running into them, really..." Melissa said in reply, "And it may be a bit messy.... I'm not good at cleaning up, and men never are," she added.

Katy found herself getting dragged along behind Aoife while also trying to crane her neck around to get a good look behind them -- she was building a mental map, after all.. "We don't have to actually go in one if you guys don't wanna," she offered. "Just knowing where the dorms are is enough, especially if I don't actually get a room. I can.. just.. wander around here when I get tired and eventually follow someone to where I'm supposed to be?"

She also had a strange, unfamiliar feeling brewing somewhere deep in her soul -- something that had taken her a few minutes of deep introspective thought to even begin to understand. Katy found that she really liked... riding a motorcycle.

"If you get lost when trying to sleep, just knock on the door for team CAKE , you can come sleep at my room, or team SDJL for Melissa." Avoiding going to her own room, she would head straight for the main building, letting the other girl to be the tour guide while she escorts them.

Mike's grin dropped as heard a boom behind him, causing his ears to ring. Then he heard an explosion as the fountain ahead of him shattered. He turned around to see Nathaniel running towards him, Teres-Aris in hand. Then he saw Markus grab him, trying to talk some sense into him. Mike decided he should probably get out the way fast. He fired one of his blades at one of the trees nearby, and shot himself up onto it. He sat on one of the branches, waiting to see what Nathaniel would do. He spotted Lucius running out of the main door, weapons in hand.

Shoving Markus to one side as if he wasn't there, Nathaniel continued on his path. He watched as Mike hopped up onto one of the branches of a nearby tree. If he thought that was going to help him he had another thing coming. He had about a ten foot range with Teres-Aris and he was only a couple above head height. Nathaniel charged him, screaming something unintelligible, and brought the halberd down in a powerful overhand strike, cutting the branch Mike was sitting on clean off. Suck on that, you cocky little bastard.

Lucius having to take the stairs to get outside rather than jumping through the window, had finally arrived to the entrance of the dorm then towards the area where the new arrivals were. From a distance, he could see Nathaniel cutting one of the branches of the tree where Mike was on and he could also see Markus there as well. As long as he could reach them within a certain distance, he could just expand his deflective aura and prevent any further destruction caused by the fight or any possible casualties.

Got to get there quick!, he thought as he sprinted to where his teammates were.

Markus saw that Mike was falling directly into the path of Nathaniel's weapon, so he stood up, activated his gauntlet's repulsor system and shot straight at Mike, attempting to get him as far away from Nathaniel as possible. The blast was strong enough to knock him away from Nathaniel, but not enough to hurt him. He ran up to Nathaniel, seizing him by the shoulders.
"Dude! Calm down, we'll sort this out, but calmly, not by killing each other!"

Mike suddenly felt the branch drop from beneath him. It was almost a comical moment as he clawed at the tree, trying to find some grip, until he felt himself go flying. He fired another shot at a branch higher up as he flew, retracting it and clinging on to the branch before pulling himself up, out of range of Nathaniel's halberd. From his elevated position, he stuck his tongue out at Nathaniel, daring him to get him now. He then realised it had been Markus who had shot at him, and, not knowing he had been trying save his life, and looked at Markus confusedly.
"Why are you now angry at me? Everybody is in a bad mood today!"

Nathaniel brushed Markus aside with enough force to get him well out of the way. "Step. Back." Unless you want to get diced too. He turned back to the tree, where Mike seemed to have climbed higher in an attempt to get away. Clearly he didn't get it. Fine then. None of them had ever seen him fight properly and they weren't going to, but perhaps he might give them a hint.
Stepping back, he grasped Teres-Aris in both hands. He began to swing the halberd in a figure of eight, starting slowly but building up until the blade was a blur, just slow enough for the conscious mind to trace it's patterns. That was where the tungsten head and long shaft came into play- he'd generated enough momentum that you'd need a pretty big shield to stop it now, not some cute little switchblade. It was a unique technique for what was normally seen as a defensive weapon, but then Nathaniel had never been one for following tradition. Satisfied that Markus wouldn't be getting inside his little field of death, he turned back to the tree where Mike was (presumably) cowering.
If Mike was going to climb higher to try and escape, that was fine with him. He'd bring the entire tree down on him. Almost instantaneously, the pattern switched from a figure of eight to an overhead circular route. He took a step forward, and the blade began to bite into the trunk. Another step and it was halfway through. He moved it forward faster, getting it jammed in the trunk and slid his right hand down to the trigger. He fired the railgun, causing an explosion of bark and splinters, the sonic boom deafening him again. The tree toppled slowly to the ground and he rested Teres-Aris over his shoulder, waiting for Mike to make his next move. That, he decided, was the only true way to make firewood.

Markus had had enough from this dysfunctional duo, especially Nathaniel.
Whats his problem?!?, He could have killed Mike or any of the new students! Switching his weapon to it's Tesla-gun mode, he fired it at Nathaniel, who was standing by the splintered stump of a tree that was probably over a hundred years old. Feeling nothing but rage, a blot of electricity formed at the copper orb at the end of the gun and shot through the air, straight at Nathaniel.

"Well... I don't think much has taken place at the dorms, really. Nothing like what happened outside at least, or nothing that I've seen I guess. Maybe people did a lot of weird/exciting things inside their dorm that never got out! Oh, and you're free to come to my dorm to stay if you get lonely!" Melissa said. Only moments later did she notice what she had unintentionally implied.

"Nooo I don't meant to do weird stuff though! I mean, unless you want to! And umm, I'm sure we can get out a spare bed!" She stuttered, blushing.

"Um, yeah! That could work. For sleeping purposes! Not for any weird stuff," Katy said in a rush. "Um.. um.. so what else does Beacon have," she asked suddenly, tugging on Aoife's hand. "What else does Beacon have? Does it have like.. training facilities? A really good firing range, maybe?"

"Topic change, topic change," Katy thought to herself. "Don't wanna talk about their bedrooms, don't wanna be weieerd."

"Oh," Katy said suddenly. "What about the classrooms? I should probably know where those are, right? That seems like an important thing to know."

Lucius could finally clearly see what was happening; a broken fountain, a devastated tree, and all sorts of damage caused at the place where the new arrivals were.

He then saw them right in front of a toppled tree and noticed that Markus had prepared his gun and was about to shoot Nathaniel.

Markus!? What are you doing!?

He immediately threw his two shield, Xavier and Valerie, between the stump where Nathaniel was. Then he could see some blue projectile going towards Nathaniel, and he immediately activated his 'Shield Cage' and provided a shield for Nathaniel. The blue projectile hit the deflective aura and it dispersed. The deflective aura kept intact to where Nathaniel was. Though Nathaniel couldn't get out of that area for 10 mins. or so, at least he won't be harmed or harm others. Probably enough time for him to cool off.

But then he realized something...

"Where's Mike?"

Laughing at the pair, Aoife tugs them along as she answers the barrage of questions, "Now now girls. Katy, we will show you where the classrooms and everything are. As for training, we have an arena where you can fight each other or use the dummies to practice. As for a firing range, would not be sure considering I don't have a gun or bow. There are also places for food, sitting etcetera."

"I'm pretty sure I saw a firing range in the training arena! Really good one too, although it might've been an archery target... I'm not too familiar with these things since I don't have a gun or bow either..." Melissa said, "Aoife will have to show you around the classrooms though... Let's just say I'm not too familiar with them!" She added, a little embarrassed.

Mike's eyes widened as he peered down and saw Nathaniel swinging his halberd in a figure of eight. Nathaniel buried his weapon into the tree trunk, jolting the whole tree. Mike gave a small cry as he was knocked from his perch, landing awkwardly on another one below him, winding him. Nathaniel discharged his weapon, causing the tree to jump again, and it began to fall. If the tree fell over with Mike still on it, he would likely break his legs from the position he was in. As it tilted, he threw himself off the branch, down to the ground, landing face-down. Luckily, the grass below was soft and he wasn't injured.
"Where's Mike?" Mike heard Lucius ask, and he jumped up, slightly dizzy from landing badly.
"Here!" He said loudly, before walking back to the others. "By the way guys..." He said, producing the School Handbook he had picked up from his dormitory. "I think we already broke 3 rules. 1: Do not destroy, damage or tamper with school property in any way. 2: There is to be no fighting on school grounds, outside of the arena. 3: The use of Dust is prohibited except during sparring matches or with permission from an instructor. Achievement get!" He said proudly. Then he noticed the shield encasing Nathaniel. "Wow. Bubble shields for the win!" He said.

Nathaniel's first thought when the barrier went up was don't interfere, I can dodge it. His second was hang on, this isn't a shield- it's a prison! At this stage he was starting to seriously lose what was left of his cool. All he'd been trying to do was teach Mike a stern lesson, and now not only Markus, but Lucius too, had attacked him. He was... disappointed. He'd put Lucius down as the kind who let matters run their course, not someone prone to meddling. He turned to the shield. He had to calm down. Had to get out of this cage.
In his experience, there tended to be two common varieties of barrier like this. The first kind worked like a bubble of aura- if you could make a hole in it the whole thing would collapse. The second worked like a field of aura, and it was a lot more troublesome to break. Without resorting to some fancy tricks with dust or his own aura, neither of which he had access to, the only way to break it was with a lot of repetitive attacks. Depending upon the strength of the controller, that could take a hell of a long time.
He reloaded Teres-Aris. He had no doubt that the shot would be able to pass through it, but whether that would actually break it or simply drain a little of Lucius aura he couldn't tell. Truth be told, he wasn't all that angry anymore, but he'd said that the next person to touch his chest was going to suffer, and the last thing he wanted was a reputation for making empty threats. When nothing better came to mind, he pointed the halberd at the barrier and pulled the trigger.

Lucius seems to have noticed that Nathaniel was attempting to actually pierce through his deflective aura. He remembered that the last person(His adoptive father during training) who did that got the projectile to ricochet all over causing some serious injuries to the person inside. As Nathaniel pulled the trigger, Lucius forcefully dispersed his 'Shield Cage' causing a lot of strain to his body. The pressure he experienced from forcefully cutting off the supply of aura to his shields had him fell on his knees and had him gasping for air a lot.

"Please... no... more... fighting... we're... a... team...", he said as he felt pain jolt throughout his body. This was the second time he had done such a reckless thing and the first time he tried this had him unconscious for days. It was a miracle that he was able to keep himself conscious after doing that now.
