As the rumbling gets louder, and the cracking gets worse, it can only be a matter of time before something bursts out of the ground. And in fact, it truly is just a moment before THE SPAWN OF THE DEVIL HIMSELF bursts out of the ground. I am kidding. Kind of. At any rate, a massive worm-like creature bursts out of the rough middle of the cavern, reaching up over a hundred feet tall, and perhaps fifty-feet thick. It's mainly black, with some white markings, and a massive amount of eyes that appear to glow pure white.

Seconds after the creature burst from the ground, a collection of it's appendages also burst from the ground. They appear to be around 50 feet in length, twenty feet thick, and there seems to be around twenty.

The creature's appendages quickly begin attacking, one swinging at the students from the right, and one swinging from the left.

"Jump over them!" Robin yelled to her teammates, preparing to leap, "David, fly if you can!"

David got ready to jump as well. "That's a no go. He will slap me out of the air." He got his wings down to the ground to boost his jump. His wings would give him the boost he needed, but just barely. David readied his boosters on the bottom of his pack to give him an extra boost.

Lycus quickly shot a blast of momentum dust down at his feet then fired off a flare, launching him into the air and over the tendrils. "What the hell is this thing!?"

Axel, the furthest from the massive beast took the opportunity of the distraction presented by the others to climb the walls of the cavern using his weapons and chains. He hoped that soon the worm would pass beneath him and that he would be able to leap down onto its back.

It's worm-like. Not a worm. It's going to fight with it's tentacles. But anyway.

The tendrils continue their swing towards the students, passing around a foot above the ground. Considering the fact that they're 20 feet thick, one is certain to hit Robin, if not anyone else. With two students in the air and one on the wall, two more tendrils start swinging towards students. One heads straight towards Axel, with another swinging at Lycus.

Without warning, the creature begins burrowing itself below ground, though it's tendrils remain sticking out of random places in the cavern.

As David jumped he saw Robin wouldn't make it. Think fast. He used one of his wings to grab her while the other pushed him upward. Need to compensate for extra weight. "Boosters, adjust thrust output by 50%" His boosters came alive lifted him and robin into the air.

"Hey!" Robin yelled as David lifted her upwards, "Watch the hands buddy!" She yelled.

Lycus looked up from the ground he had shot up from to see another tendril coming toward him full speed. He tried to lift his weapon to defend himself but was too slow, the appendage slammed into his chest and launched him back into the rock side, knocking the air out of him. He fell to the ground on his knees with his hand on chest and gasping for air.

Axel saw the tendril coming at him. He put up a wall-shaped aura shield in the hopes of stopping it. But given that the tendril was so large, the aura shield fractured after impact, and Axel was knocked off of the cave wall he was climbing. On the ground, Axel held his head for a moment. A tendril shot at him, and Axel leapt out of the way.

A pair of tendrils continues chasing Robin and David, with another two moving to intercept them. They are basically in the middle of an intersection of tendrils, with one coming at them from below, in front, and to either side.

The tendril that had hit Lycus, on the other hand, continues it's assault, smashing him further in to the wall. Without help, he's probably going to end up being buried alive. Or he might die before then. Or he might be able to be saved. I dunno.

Finally, a trio of tendrils continues after Axel, one bearing down on him from above, one from behind, and one from directly in front. To Axel's left is a wall, but the right is open space. More or less. I mean, the creature is to the right, so not very open.

David throws robin on his back. "Hang on, I need to get some room from them." David turns upward away from the tentacles. He see's Lycus being shoved in a wall. "Shit. Robin they're being crushed ideas?"

Robin steadied herself on David's back, "Keep flying." Shifting her swords into a bow mode, Robin drew a bullet arrow. Cocking the bow string back, eye clear eyes narrowed in focus.

"Bone of my sword, unleash thy iron." She said, pumping aura into the arrow, "Fly." Letting the arrow go, the arrow flew towards the tendril's side with insane velocity. If it connected, the appendage would be cut in half.

Axel noticed two tendrils coming after him from the front and above. He had nowhere to go, except to the right and chase after the monster's main body. Letting loose some shots from Spite at the tendrils, Axel leapt onto the half-buried body of the creature and dragged the revved-up Laughter across it, cutting into the monster's outer dermis. Axel looked back behind him while he continued to run along the monster's body, dodging incoming tendrils. Only then did he notice that there was one tendril coming for him from behind. Axel raised his chainaxe to meet it, but it was coming in way too fast.

While his teammates convulsed on how to help him, Lycus was beaten further into the rock face. To him it seemed as though the end, he had almost no aura left to defend himself, a broken arm, a fractured knee and broken ankle, three broken ribs, and a punctured lung. Blood trickled down from multiple gashes on his head and pieces of his armor that broke inward, cutting into him. 'This....isn't....how...it was....supposed...to happen...' He thought to himself as the tendril came back around and hit him once more. He didn't know how much longer he could endure this, he barely had enough aura to stop himself from drowning in his own blood.

The group of four tendrils continues chasing Robin and David, surely gaining speed on them. Their course does not change, however.

Robin's arrow successfully severs the tendril, however Lycus is still effectively impaled in the wall by the remainder. He's probably got under a minute left to live. In addition, the... liquid of some sort flowing through the creature was now spraying all over the cavern, potentially coating the students. If it lands on them, they would notice that it feels sticky, but is freezing cold, almost to the point of causing frostbite.

The creature rumbles in pain at Axel's actions, raising itself all the way out of the ground. Axel should probably go flying in whatever direction, if not for the tendril slamming in to him, forcing him up towards the ceiling.

And for Lycus. With the tendril severed, the assault on his already battered body ceases, and it is now up to his team to save his life.

Robin looked to where Lycus was stuck. "David, get to Lycus and get him out of there. I'll distract those things." She ordered. Without waiting for a reply, she jumped off David's back and landed with a roll. Shifting Vera Volare back into twin swords, she narrowed her eyes at the approaching tentacles. "Alright then, me first." She said, assumed a stance, then rocketed towards the Trendrils.

"On it." David flew over to the tentacle. He landed and used his wings to pull the tentacle out, careful not to get blood on him. He ran into the hole to get Lycus. He saw he was bleeding heavily. "Hang in there buddy."" David quickly got to work on getting him out. While being careful not to hurt him. "Jeez. I need to get you out of here."

Axel went flying up into the air. Luckily, the cavern was so large that he didn't hit the top. However, getting back down was going to be a problem if he didn't want to be a bloody mess gone splat. In the several seconds Axel was in the air, he unwrapped the chains around his arm bounding it to Laughter, and he through the chainaxe at a nearby tendril, allowing it to hook along with the chain like a grappling hook. From there, he was able to swing around and make his way down back to the ground, dragging Laughter down the length of the tendril he had anchored himself to. Axel rolled sloppily on the ground. His back was killing him. He would be surprised if he didn't at least have any mildly fractured vertebra. He tried to step away from the creatures and its tendrils in order to find a place to concentrate his aura for some temporary sustenance against the pain.
