The El*er Scrolls [Event] [Team AMBR]

Byron's weapon, Thanatos, being the bulky carry around coffin its infamous for, easily blocks any sword swings to the back. Suddenly alerted to enemy presence, Byron spins on his heels while simultaneously switching Thanatos back to its weapon form and attempts to hit Olivia with to barrel of his right handed gun aiming for the side of her rib cage.

But, fortunately for Axel, he had backup in the form of one very pissed off leader approaching the Grimm from the side with frightening speed.

"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Robin yelled, her being glowing bright red and making an open plam thrust to the Ursa Major. If the attack connected, her semblance would send the Ursa flying.

David came down in seconds. "Byron we need...to..go." He saw Byron being attacked. He thought to himself. Not time to fight we need to move. He flew over Byron and grabbed him using his wings. "Sorry to interrupt, but we need to move." He flicked Byron on to his back.

His attack interrupted, Byron soon found himself riding David's back and flying upwards towards the sky. Byron put Thanatos back to its passive form and looked down at Olivia as they retreated to the skies.

David decided to stay low as to not attract the Nevermores. "Byron saw some ruins north of here. Lets check that out." He said as his flight helm came down across his face.

David sees the Nevermores coming now. Great. "Ic load up flak rounds." As he spoke his back pack made noises. A light on his back goes green. He looks at the amount of ammo he has. 35 shots. May work. David aimed his turrets up at the birds and fired 26 times.

"Hm~ Let's see if I can distract them," Byron mutters as the Nevermores draw closer, "Hm... how is a nevermore like a writing desk?"

Byron uses his semblance to call forth Wonderland, this time restricting the range to the size of a football stadium.

Suddenly the ground was where the sky should have been and the sky was down below where the ground should be. There are clockwork gears turning in the middle of the sky and the face of a giant clock is where the sun would have been. The upside down ground had tall trees colored like candy canes of many festive colors with gummy leaves. Apple pies and other fruity pastries grew from the branches.

Floating around all over the place were tea trays with bat wings as well as many hovering chairs and furniture all around. Tea pots and tea cups soar around and there is a man wearing a tuxedo with giant mouse ears and a long tail sleeping on a cotton candy cloud.

There is a man dressed similarly to Byron sitting on an upside down chair that like many other things in this strange place was defying gravity. This particular man had a much more crazed hat with dozens of eyes around it and a giant toothy grin above the rim. His face was all black and he had a crazed smile showing off two rows of triangular teeth.

The strange man had a cake in his hand with a chocolate note card reading "eat me". He tosses it into his mouth in one bite and swallows.

He suddenly grows and grows until he face alone was the size of a two story house and staring directly at the flock of nevermore with a wacky smile. He opens his mouth wide to show a long slimy red snake tongue. Where his throat should have been there is a giant raven head popping out cawing loudly as it writhed around as if it was trying to release itself from the wet throat of the mad man.

"Just ignore it and keep flying straight," Byron murmured to David as the chaos went on behind them, "We're in the sky so there's literally nothing to get in the way. You remember the direction of the ruins was?"

"Yeah, what will Hatta do to distract birds? Doesn't he just run time." David asked not changing course.

"You'd be surprise what a mad man is capable of," Byron answers vaguely glancing back at the scene behind them.

Axel recovered from the swipe. He was sure glad it wasn't a full strength, or even a half strength swipe. Still, his side ached from where he was hit. He saw the Ursa coming in to squeeze the life out of him and knew he had to act quick. Still laying on the ground, he dug Laughter into the ground and hastily focused his aura into Spite, letting out a primarily concussive shockwave as he aimed it to the side away from him. The blast propelled him in the opposite direction, sliding him along the ground in a large hemi-circle fashion away from the Ursa with his chainaxe acting as the center and the chain acting as the radius.

The swarm of black birds spread out somewhat with the sudden change of setting, with a few of them losing their course entirely. They weaved around various things, some of them flying through the objects and most of them swarming around the upside down floating crazy hat man. After passing through him a few times, however, half the flock caught wind of the two real targets, and changed course to pursue, still avoiding objects as much as possible.

Robin's semblance enhanced attack struck the ursa on its side with powerful aura infused force, but it wasn't as effective as she imagined. The ursa was knocked away, but only down onto all fours legs, and 10 feet away. It is recovering from the sudden attack, but it turning to face its new assailant as its previous one, Axel, zipped away quickly, recovering from being knocked down himself. This ursa is clearly no ordinary bear. It may just be the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered bear you've ever set eyes on! It roars viciously, the sound echoing throughout the forest.

Robin held Vera Volare in both hands, undaunted by the blood curling roar, switching one to a reverse grip, the sword dancer assumed a runner's position and looked like she was about to launch herself with her regular, albeit fast, speed.

"Ah, as the old saying goes...The bigger they are..."

With grim determination, Robin launched herself towards the Grimm.

Axel pulled the chain and retrieved Laughter from the ground. With the Ursa's back towards him, he rushed in for an attack to. He chainaxe normally would have been able to cut through and Ursa's limbs in a bloody spectacle of gore and guts. But this time, he needed to try something different. He charged up Spite with aura for another concussive shot as he closed in for another attack.

"Hm~," Byron hummed seeing their pursuers, "Didn't work as well as I hoped but at least half of them are gone. We're at a disadvantage in the air though. Try landing once we reach the edge."

Byron's semblance's range should be visible where the glittering border is where the real Emerald forest can be seen.

David was not able to really open fire from where he was. "Byron, as much as I hate the idea, can't Cheshire become anything?"

"Well yes she can," Byron replied, "And unlike the other denizens of Wonderland, she is a wanderer and may appear in any domain, even Hatta's. Why? You have a plan?"

"Well have her shape shift to look like us, and draw away the Nevermore." David said. (shit post)

"Hm~ Well that might cause the group to split but it won't get rid of them all," Byron murmured in thought, "I'm going to need some cover. Let's see. Other then Cheshire and other wandering characters I have the aid of all welcomed in Hatta's domain. That would include Hatta, Dorm, and..."

Suddenly descending from the forest above was a giant pitch black hare the size of a skyscraper wearing a party suit and red silk hat, its head adorning a bone mask.

"Yeah... he'll do the trick," Byron muttered as the giant hare descended from the forest above behind them getting in the way of the nevermores.

The giant hare roared at the nevermores, its bellowing sounding like a mixture of nails scratching a chalkboard and a wailing banshee. Behind him a giant cloud of pitch black darkness formed covering nearly 200 feet in radius. Giant red eyes peered out from the cloud, tears of blood pouring from them. Huge, gaping mouths with canine teeth snapped and laughed around the thick smog, long and slimy tongues sticking out and waving as if inviting anything nearby to come to be devoured alive.

The cloud of smoke come around and covered Byron and David's left, right, and top view, but they can still see ahead and below.

"So how about it? Feel like helping us out?" Byron asked out loud as the giant hare covered them from the nevermores.

Without warning the cat girl wearing the purple tiger striped outfit appeared in front of them, floating backwards in the air as they floated forwards. She gives them a piece sign and winks before her form suddenly shifts to look like an exact duplicate of the two.

The fake Byron and David fly off to the right, plowing right through the cloud smoke into the open. The one that looked like David tossed a grenade which flashed brightly like fireworks to grab the nevermore flock's attention and flew away in the complete opposite direction of the real duo.

"By the way, what is she like in person?" Byron asked David, "I don't really get the chance to talk to any of these guys personally. I'm sort of envious that you got to see the real Wonderland. What was it like?"

David just sighed. "Byron, in a phrase, you need to see a shrink man." He said jokingly. "I'll tell you what you want to know when we're done here.......maybe over some earl gray."

The swarm scatters at the sudden appearance of a massive creature, with just one chasing the original pair, two chasing the copy, and the others are in disarray, flying around and generally trying to escape or gather into a group again. The one still chasing has sense caught up, and latches itself onto David's backpack, trying to tear apart a strap with its talons and beak. The strap breaking would unlikely cause the team to fall, but it would reduce maneuverability slightly and increase the risk of other straps or belts breaking.

The massive ursa raises up on its back legs, lifting its right paw and making a powerful swipe at Robin at she enters range. His reach is further than Robin's weapons, so she is unable to attack back without avoiding the attack or attacking the death paw itself. However, Robin should be able to see Axel behind the creatures frame. He appears to be readying an attack.

Seeing the nevermore, Byron engages Thanatos to weapon form and points the barrel of one of the guns right at the nevermore, angling so the bullet won't accidentally hit David, and shoots while at point blank range.

The Ursa appeared to not have noticed Axel as he swung Laughter. "This is going to need perfect timing," the thought to himself. Axel aimed to fire the focused concussive shot from Spite at the striking face of Laughter the instant it was going to strike the Ursa's hide. If all went according to plan, the impact would turn Laughter into a vibro-weapon that should dig through the Grimm's thick outer skin with the added boost of the resonance wave. Too early, and he would vibrate his arm apart. Too late, and the shot would send Laughter careening as it bounced off the Ursa's hide.

Robin noticed Axel's attack, if he wanted it to go smoothly, then the Ursa's attention needed to be on her. In other words, she needed it stay still long enough for Axel's attack to go through.

This is gonna hurt. She thought wearily, bringing up her swords. Swinging them both in a cross, Robin caught the Ursa's attack by the claws and nearly felt her arms break from the force. If this worked, then a power lock would be put in place and neither would be able to move.

HOLYGODTHISREALLYHURTS. She thought calmly.

Thanatos quickly dispatched the smallish bird, knocking it free from its grip on the backpack and causing it to hurdle toward the ground. The strap seems frayed slightly, but it should hold for the moment. The rest of the swarm still appears distracted with various things, with a couple of them still chasing the shadow copy of the flying half of Team Amber. The rest of them have mostly regrouped but... are flying away from the exciting events happening in the sky. And very quickly too, as if they are chasing something else, but nothing can be seen in front of them as they are exiting the Wonderland effect.

Robin felt a massive force against her blades as the Ursa arm crashed into her, pushing her back. She was able to keep her footing, and eventually stopped sliding as her feet dug into the ground. Her plan had worked, for the moment. The ursa was not wasting time with a follow up attack, stepping in to bite her on the shoulder, keeping pressure on her blades with its arm.

However, before its bite can be realized, the ursa stops leaning in and roars in agony as Axel's strike but into the creature's back, blood spraying outward. The shot from Spite appears to have been successful, as Axel didn't kill himself and Laughter has cut through the thick armoring on its back and partially through its hide. The wound wasn't very deep, however, and Axel finds the creature spinning its arm around to backhand him and knock him back once again. As it turns its body, Laughter falls free from the wound. The hand keeping Robin pinned is released as it begins turning rapidly, at a fast rate for such a large creature.

David kept his course. "Hey are we clear?" He asked due to the fact he can't see behind him.

"No more are following," Byron stated looking around, "They seem to be running off after something else but I can't see what. How far are we from the ruins?"
