The El*er Scrolls [Event] [Team AMBR]

Axel, aware of how the deathstalker had not yet noticed him, quickly darted to behind a nearby tree. He quickly moved from cover to cover to get towards the deathstalker' rear side.

David kept his distance as close as possible with out being stung. Soon threw the grenade down in front of the beasts face. The grenade went of releasing a blinding light. Flashbangs.....my favorite non lethal grenade.

Blinded by light, the Deathstalker takes a few steps backward, very slowly. Its obviously disoriented, and probably wouldn't see someone standing on its face. Axel had moved behind the creature, noting that its tail, raised slightly, was poised for attack, but it shouldn't have a target while it can't see.

"Gah!" Nathan's surprise escapes him as he falls backward, over a kick sliding Robin, and onto his ass. His sword lay on the ground in range, but his hand slipped from its hilt, and he is holding himself up with both hands. Instead of standing, however, reaches to grab his sword with both hands, forcing it to disassemble into its gauntlet-rifle before attempting to stand with the rifle in his right hand.

Why in the world Nathan went for a long range weapon in a close range fight, Robin will never know. But she did know that closing in on the teacher....person was the best idea at the moment. Moving fast, Robin would use of her swords to deflect the barrel of the rifle away, giving her a free shot with the other sword to Nathan's chest.

The Deathstalker's tail was raised high and back, ready to strike David. Axel took this opportunity to strike. Axel focused what aura he could spare into a charged attack that would be directed at the tail, between one of the armored tail segments. As Axel was behind the Deathstalker, the tail should be relatively armored, but he wanted to be absolutely sure that he could cleave it off quickly with his chainaxe after the aura attack.

The Deathstalker's tail rushes forward toward David, despite him being out of range. As it retracts, Axel's weapon reaches it and cleaves through it, nicking the armor plating just barely. However, the strike was clean enough that it barely made it through the entire tail, cutting it short in a single swing. The now dismembered tail had dropped down, landing on the top of the massive body and sliding off to the side, twitching just once as it landed before laying there useless. A brief shrill chattering sound is heard as the creature whips its shortened tail back and it spins around, looking to face Axel, its powerful right claw closing the distance on him.

As Robin closes the distance with her target, her plans are interrupted by the clashing of her swords with two others. A short woman stands in front of Robin after firing her semblance several times in a row to close the distance nearly instantly. Her expression is highly focused as she stares at Robin, with three blades floating above her head, all pointing their blades at the student and ready to strike, not unlike scorpion tails.

Nathan was now on his feet. He loads a shell from an inside pocket of his jacket into his rifle, and was holding it steadily as he took a few steps back from Olivia and Robin clashing. Its directed at Byron, but he is aiming low, perhaps at Byron's feet or just in front of him. His own expression is more serious than before, but one can tell he is only mildly intent on fighting.

David saw the tail drop and the creature turn around. He then made a grab for it with his wings. He rose it in the air and with it still in his hand. He brought it down aiming for the creatures back. "This is yours I believe."

"You!" Robin's eyes widened, breaking off the blade lock and jumping back, "What are you...Nevermind. I think I know the answer to that." Taking a step back, Robin flipped the swords over so she held them in reverse grip. Sparing a glance to Nathan, then at Byron, the gears in her turning, and like that, a plan formed in her mind.

Oh. This may just work. Robin thought, continuing to back off from Olivia, then...."Byron! Switch!" Rocketing forward, she swung at Olivia before abruptly switching directions and headed for Nathan.

Byron squared off against Nathan, standing a distance away with his two guns held at his sides pointing downward. "Well partner," Byron chuckled, "let's draw."

As the hatter continued his western ranger play, as Robin called out to him, in perfect sync with her, Byron shot two rounds at Nathan's feet and dashed off the side and charged towards Olivia.

"Welcome to my Wonderland," he chuckled and his semblance activated, covering a clearing they all were in and turning it into a dome.

The walls and rounded ceiling were made of decaying, naked corpses whose bodies were twisted and bent around, forming a basket weave of bony bodies of pink flesh covered in sores and bleeding scars. The eyes were replaced with sewn in buttons yet they all looked like they were staring at those trapped within the closed dome. The ground was paved with live babies whose eyes were gouged out and replaced with squirming bunches of maggots crying tears of blood, squeezed so close together that they could barely move as they sluggishly squirmed, their tiny hands reaching out calling "Momma! Momma! Where are you Momma!"

At the very top of the dome, a pale bony woman with long limbs clung onto the cieling, her bare back facing the ground. Her head was twisted backwards, her long, dirty white hair falling around her face which had decayed so much ahead of the rest of her withering body that it was a bleach white skull with hollow eye sockets. Little balls of white light shined with within the empty eye sockets, glaring at everyone as she hisses, "Become my baby..."

As all this went on, Byron ran a clear path towards Olivia and swung his right gun  to hit her over the head with the barrel and at the same time swung the other hit her in the knee.

Just as the claw reaches Axel and begins closing around him, it opens, allowing Axel to move away, as the creature's body falls to the ground briefly, the weight and pain of a massive stinger being driven into the top of its body. However, it stands up immediately, swinging its claws wildly around as it spins its body around in a confused, and agonized state as it tried furiously to strike anything it could reach.

Kirkka was nearby, hiding hopefully quite well. She was watching the two fight the Deathstalker, ready to jump in and assist if needed, but by now, that didn't seem to be the case. So, she stood up from her hiding place in some tall grass, noting that her reasonable distance and location should keep the two from noticing her instantly. Staff in hand, she changed the order of the segments in preparation for combat. She tapped a button on her scroll, attached to her belt, and spoke. "Nate, the Deathstalker is going down. Status report?"

Olivia had jumped up and back at the sudden surroundings shift, avoiding both of Byron's attacks with relative ease. As she landed on the... ground... her eyes looking toward Byron in front of her. Concentrate on the battle! Focus! Ignore surrounds!  She was visibly shaken. Her stance seemed off, somehow, and her eyes were unfocused. Her breathing was rough, showing some mild fatigue. Her stance became steady after a moment, and her eyes focused more, but she did not move from her spot, as if frozen.

Nathan took a few steps back after avoiding Byron's shots, and spun to aim his rifle toward Robin, now charging at him. "We're really gonna waste all this time then? Alright!" A gunshot sounded, and a round struck the ground several feet in front of Robin, and discharged dust empowered wave of force that would at least stop Robin's charge, if it didn't knock her off her feet. Nathan had already readied the next round, and was looking around at the sudden change of surroundings when a voice echoed from his scroll.

"Nate, the Deathstalker is going down. Status report?"

"These guys are intent on fighting us for some reason. Guess they want to try and take us down." Nathan spoke aloud, making no effort to conceal his conversation with his probably distance teammate, instead sharpening his aim with his rifle, currently directed at Robin.

David flew to the air and put a mod in his arm. His arm soon spawned a shield on it after a about thirty seconds of transforming. He zeroed in on the stinger as he put his wings up. With his wings away, he aimed for the area where Axel had cut the stinger. Taking great care he flipped himself into a nose dive and turned his thrusters to full power as he sent himself on a collision course with the stinger. Either way if this works or not......it's going to hurt quite a bit.

Axel stepped away slowly. That last aura attack spent a lot of his energy, and combined with how beat up he was from fighting the super Ursa Major, he needed to take a breather. Surely David could execute the Deathstalker on his own.

Sadly for Nathan, force was also Robin Semblance. Quickly activating it, the dust was stopped in mid-air, acting as a smoke screen for both parties. "You're not terribly good at this, are you?" She called out over the noise.

A slight twang could be heard, and a bullet arrow was headed right for Nathan's head.

"What's wrong little girl?" Byron chuckled, "Don't you like my Wonderland?"

"Mama... mama... mama..." the countless squirming babies chanted, their tiny arms reach up towards Olivia as if trying to grab at her legs. Some of them started spitting up saliva and blood while others were pulling maggots out of their eye sockets and started gumming on them. Then about a dozen decaying arms were popping out of the ground, the flesh gradually melting off the bones as they swung around as if seeking something to grab hold of.

Byron ran in a circle around Olivia, shooting multiple shots at her while circling around her in a spiraling motion, gradually closing in on her.

With the wound from its own stinger already severe, the Deathstalker struggles to maintain its footing as it loses its balance, still flailing aimlessly at whatever is nearby. It stepped around the area as it did, making David's dive somewhat amusing for any onlookers, as he missed his mark just barely. Still, he struck the Deathstalker's body head on, forcing the creature to the ground once more, a shriek from the monster filling the air. Its severed tail moves several times, mimicking the action of striking with its stinger, lighting hitting at David but unable to do any real harm as it has become so weak. The creature is clearly in its final moments, as it is unable to even stand after David's second strike.

Just afterward, the roar of engines is heard as a small airship zooms overhead, coming from the direction of Vale, and heading the direction that Byron and Robin went off to. The ship was fast, about half the size of a Bullhead. It quickly flies out of sight, blocked by the canopy of the forest.

No stranger to ranged combat, Nathan was quick to dive to his left and out of the way, his aura protecting him as he slammed into the ground and rolled back onto his feet, now to the side of the screen, hears a loud beep comes from his scroll, and he stops to reach for it and check the message he got.


Olivia struggled to focus, but as soon as Byron began firing upon her, she sprung to life, evading, or blocking the shots with relative ease by means of the three floating swords, and firing rounds back at him from her twin gunblades. As the distance between the two closes, Olivia vanishes, using her semblance to appear directly behind and to the left of Byron, with her three blades crashing down toward him from different sides, and the two weapons in her hands extending to block his own weapons, making it impossible to block the first three.

David stood up on the back of the beast as he tried to lift his arm. He winced in pain as he discovered he had dislocated his shoulder on impact. He walked over to where the stinger was. He sighed as he looked at his shoulder. So much for grenade in the back. He then opened up wings again. Instead of jumping into the air he used them to start striking downwards at the stinger.

Byron continued running to avoid the shots. When Olivia disappeared, Byron could not see her as she appeared at his blind side, but his mantle of blades surrounding him protected him from her weapons. Byron turned clockwise trying find her, using his guns to block any strikes that would come his way. When Olivia would eventually appear in his line of vision, he use their close distance to fire point blank shots from his long barreled guns at her knees.

David's attempts to force the stinger further into the creature have only a small effect, as the stinger is lodged quite well in the creature, and David is unable to get proper footing while on the back of the moving Deathstalker. Still... it is moot in the end, as the creature takes a final breath, and slumps down, unmoving. David stands atop the massive scorpion-shaped Grimm. Silence fills the area, and as Axel had moved away to take a breather, he didn't immediately see Kirkka near the edge of the small clearing David and the deathstalker were in, looking toward both of them.

Her staff leans slightly away from her, held tightly in her right hand, with the bottom end resting on the ground as she looks up at David. "Nice work."

And was promptly tackled to the ground by a red blur. Robin was there, holding a blade up to his neck.

"Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to interrupt the call. But you were just standing there in the open." She said, sounding sincere.

Nathan laid there with a grin on his face, his rifle still gripped by his right hand, but laying on the ground. "Hey! I'm on break! Food's here!" His eyes shifted toward the sky... or, at least where the sky would be if it wasn't blocked by a dome of entirely unhappy things.

As he looks up, the wind suddenly picks up, and the engines from some kind of airship can be easily heard just above them. It is loud, but doesn't sound like the airships that brought you to Beacon, or the Bullhead ones employed by private companies.

Before long, the wind direction and sounds shift, signalling the vessel has moved off just a short distance, and seems to be landing.

Shifting his gaze back to Robin, "You hungry? I ordered extra!"

Olivia took a step closer to Byron, putting her too close for him to even get such a long barreled gun between the two, and made a swipe at him with her right sword, keeping her left ready for counters, and her three flying blades all came in again in an attempt to stab him. One came directly behind Byron, aiming right between the blades of his mantle, while another came from above toward his chest, and the third low, from his left front side, opposite of where she was.

David tiredly slides off the beast as he looks around. Where'd he run off to....the scroll I hope. No time to waste have to go. He said as he began moving back to the cave. He would then check the area before he saw the figure standing over by the edge. He had a choice, go over and confront the target, or get back on track. He simply waved at the person before he went dashing off back to where the cave was. He moved slower then normal as he moved. He needed to cradled his arm with some bandage wraps he had in his first aid kit so the pain wouldn't bother him as much. He pulled them out and began wrapping it.

As David makes a quick exit after noticing Kirkka, she takes a few steps after him, about to stop him, but holds her words and stops, looking toward the now visible Axel and beginning to approach him. She seems to not be giving off any intention to fight. Her staff is held in the right hand, not touching the ground and kept behind her, but ready to be brought forward for defense if needed. As she closes in on Axel, she speaks. "Are you alright, Axel Graf?"

Robin blinked, "Uh, won't that attract extra Grimm?" She asked.

Axel looked up at Kirkka. "Yes. I'll be fine. I've taken a bruising, but I'll manage. And what are you here for?

"I'm just here to check on you and David. You should keep your break short and regroup with your team. Also, if I may suggest something... you may want to cease splitting up. This is a team building exercise, after all." Kirkka stops short of attack range of Axel, resting her staff on the ground and taking a somewhat passive stance. Her positioning is that so Axel could walk toward David's last known position with her being in his way.

"Alright, I suppose you're right." Axel took out his communicator. "Robin, Byron, David. Where are you guys at?" He waited for a response before looking up at Kirkka. "You're not going to be standing here watching me are you?"
