Team 5 (Shadowfox66 and Kaliot)

Her plan went on with out a hitch and she landed nearly the same way she thought she would. Though she hit the ground a little harder then she thought she would and she went rolling into a tree. She only lightly hit it, but that didn't stop it from hurting a little. She got to her feet and shook her head before dusting herself off. Walking back to her weapon she took in her souroundings trying to see exactly where she had landed and where she was going to go next.

"Alright. I need to get to those ruins and get a relic." she nodded and picked up her weapon, twisting her wrist and collapsing it back into gun mode. She took a clip from her waist and opened up the top of her weapon, the spring mechanism causing the last clip to come up. She popped it out and held it in her hand as she swapped her clips and put the fresh one into the top. She took the empty one and put it in the space the clip she just grabbed previously occupied. A quick snap down and twist of the top locked the new clip into place and she was ready to go. She turned and started to go in a direction into the forest.

Before Mao entered the tree line, he spun himself, and thus his blades + wires, and managed to connect with a branch. He spun around it getting to a point where he could swing forward. Now, all I have to do is retract it and...

The branch, not to his expectations, snapped quite loudly as he tried to bring in the blade. Because of this, Mao had lost some of his momentum, though he did manage to catch another branch with a hand before he fell to the ground. After pulling himself up, he looked at the broken branch laying on the forest floor. Well then...

He decided to sit and wait, wondering if anyone else heard it.

The forest was dull and dark as Kyri walked through it. The occasional rustle in the bushes as rabbits and squirrels ran to hid from the girl kept her on her toes. To her left she would be able to hear a loud crash. And if she looked would see an Ursa running towards the noise getting out a loud roar as it ran.

Kyri turned to the sound and stopped in her tracks before she heard the loud roar of an Ursa. She readied her weapon and then realized that it wasn't coming towards her, it was going towards the crash she had heard just a moment ago. She quickly gave chase to the Ursa, trying to make sure she didn't trip over anything on the forest floor.

Mao, who was listening intently, noticed a steady thumping approaching his location followed by a loud roar. Well, this certainly wasn't the attention I was hoping to bring. He stared over at the branch wondering if it was a mistake trying to land like that. He dismissed it quickly as his thoughts went back to the noise. He pressed his back against the tree and looked in the direction of the roar waiting to see whatever it was come into view.

The Ursa stepped into the Mao's view running forward. It slid to a stop at the base of the tree in front of the branch. It bent over and sniffed at the branch, taking in the scent of Mao. It lifted it snout and sniffed around looking for the source of the smell, it was close.

Kyri appeared to Mao a little bit after the Ursa, which was now sniffing up Mao's tree. It let out a roar and began to shake the tree trying to knock Mao out of it.

An Ursa, which seemed to have been the source of the thudding and the roar, was now at the base of the tree. He knelt down of the branch, stabbed the tree with his arm closest to it to keep balance, and took a closer look at it before noticing Kyri coming from where the Ursa had. He looked at her and didn't say anything. Mao just waved with a face that said "Hey, partner!" before turning back to the Ursa and firing the blade of his free hand directly at the Ursa's head.

Kyri slowed to a stop as she saw the Ursa messing with the tree ahead of her. She looked up and saw Mao giving her a nod before he attached his gauntlets into the tree next to him. It looked like he had a plan to deal with this Ursa and she aimed towards the Ursa with Eurus in gun mode. She wasn't going to fire until Mao went ahead with his plan.

Loaded in Eurus was fire in her index finger, Ice in her middle, concussion in her ring finger with lightning in her pinky cannon. She was ready for battle and she kept her hand still making sure she wouldn't mess up Mao's plan.

Here we go.... She thought as she watched Mao launch a blade at the Ursa's head.

The Ursa heard a launching sound and lifted it's head to look up as Mao's blade launched at it.  The blade struck the middle of it's mask/armor that grim had and bounced off. The Ursa stumbled backwards blinded by the pain. It stood up listening for it's prey while still blind. Blood ran down the creatures face from it's forehead. It swung it's claws around trying to hit anything or anybody that might be foolish enough to get close.

Kyri started to focus as Mao's attack hit but did not stick to the beast. She watched it thrash around blindly to make sure that she wouldn't get close to that being safely. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves and she focused on the Ursa's middle section to make sure it would be hard for her to miss the shot. She pulled her middle finger in twice, shooting two Ice shards at the Ursa.

The two shards struck the Ursa knocking it forward and off balance. It let out a roar as Mao's blade stuck into it's leg knocking it over. The Ursa roared on the ground swinging it's claw in front of it, unable to get up or see. It was helpless against the teens at this point.

"Well then..." Mao stood back up from his kneeling position as he reeled back the blade that he had shot. The Ursa was on its back, blind and helpless. He actually felt a little bad for it, but it was a Grimm after all. After all that the Grimm have done, there was no use feeling sorry for it. He fired a blade to grapple up to branch above the Ursa and sat on it. "I can end it or you can. Doesn't really matter to me. Unless you really want to save your bullets in which case I'll go ahead and do it." Mao began moving his legs back and forth as he observed the Ursa laying on the ground.

Kyri smiled with dangerous intent as she watched the completely helpless Ursa. Mao asked her who should kill it and she simply started to charge at the beast. She twisted her wrist and flipped out her blades and jumped in the air and started to bring down her blade aiming to slice the head off of the Ursa. She spun around in the air and started to spin her blade to pick up momentum. She unlocked her blade so the other three blades would come down on top of the first one and slam it down each blade that hit it.

The Ursa's head came clean off as Kyri's blade came down. It's arms hung in the air for a second before falling limp into the ground with a small thud. blood poured from the neck of the Ursa. The teens had succeeded with kill the bear, the first of potentially many dangers lurking in the woods.

Mao watched as Kyri totally ignored him, instead decapitating the Ursa in a rather flashy manner. Well, that was interesting. It was now lifeless, a pool of blood beginning to form where its body lay. Mao decided to remain in his tree. "So...now that that's over with, I'm Mao. Pleased to meet ya. He gave her a slight salute.

A smile of sweet satisfaction crossed her face as the head popped off of the bear like a kid twisting the head off of a barbie doll. She brought her weapon up and twisted it to spray the blood of the blade, and she was splatted with it. Another twist brought the blade back in and she switched it to gun mode trying to make sure she would be fine if something came up. Before Mao introduced himself she turned away.

"You can't hesitate or show mercy to these beings. For they would never give us that pleasure." she stopped when he said his name and she turned to face him. The sick smile she had on before was now replaced with a friendly smile, and her tone was chipper.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too Mao! My name's Kyri! I guess We're Partners now!"

"I wouldn't necessarily call it hesitation or mercy but rather..." Mao tilted his head. "...consideration, perhaps? Maybe efficiency?" He straightened out his head and waved his hand. "Well, it doesn't matter now."

Mao smiled at the partners bit. He looked around a bit before turning back to Kyri. "So, do you have any idea where the relics are?"

Kyri nodded to her partner and then looked around trying to figure out what direction she would go. She couldn't tell anymore now that she was all turned around.

"Umm. I don't know where the ruins would be at... can you see anything up there Mao?" She asked as she looked back up to him and noted that he was still on a tree, perhaps able to see where they could go next.

Around them Mao would see mostly trees. We would be able to see two clearings one to the right and one straight ahead. Additionally to the left there was a lake. Behind them in the distance was the cliff face where they had been launched from.

"Let's see here...there are two clearing there and there. And there's a lake this way. And, of course, the cliff is behind us." Mao pointed in their respective directions. "Well, it would be best if we went towards one of the clearings, though I wouldn't mind sneaking a peek at the lake." Mao grinned at the prospect of visiting the lake, though he knew Kyri probably wouldn't want to go along with it. "You can choose where you'd like us to go. I don't really mind where we go as long as we're on the move."

Kyri took a moment to think about it, signiling Mao to come down from his tree now that they can decide where to go. She took a good long second not saying anything as she thought about it.

The Clearing ahead of us might hold something as it is away from the cliff face, the one to our side might not be the best of choices. Maybe the lake would have something near it. Well i guess the odd one out wins. She looked up to her partner and then pointed the same way he pointed to the lake.

"Let's check out the lake First! I think it might be the way we need to go."

It took a moment before Mao's face lit up as Kyri pointed to the lake. Lake lake lake lake lake lake lake. He sprung himself off of his branch, did a flip, and landed before Kyri. "Yes, mam!" He turned away, trying to oppress his current enthusiasm.

Despite all the excitement in his mind, the back of it remained relatively quiet. This should be a good experience.
