Recent Disturbances - team DYMC + Zwei Carter [closed]

Yin chuckled to himself quietly, "Frag. He must be under there." He said, moving over to the beast's head. He placed his hands underneath the beast's head, looking at Dante, "Alright now, on three. One, two, three!" He said, the last number cut short by the strain on him as he heaved with all his strength to try to lift the limp head from the ground.

as the weight of the Tajitu is lifted, the group can see and hear Myren pushing from beneath. with a heave, they manage to slide the head off of Myren's prone form.

Breathing heavily as he leaned up onto his elbows. Myren spared a glance at the massive head sitting next to him.
"damn thing was more dangerous dead than alive..." He muttered before flopping onto his back.

Zwei couldnt help but smile seeing his team-mate was all right (all right for having "that thing" fall onto you at least). He reached out his hand to help Myren up "Let me know when you are ready to stand" he would wait there as long as Myren needed to rest...he was his team-mate after all. He flicked his blade toward the ground in his open hand and flung some of the beasts blood onto the ground.

Myren took Zwei's hand and together they hauled him to his feet. Groaning as he stretched out, testing to see if anything was broken, he asked. "Everyone else ok?"

He took a quick look around, almost panicking before he spotted the hilt of Skorpios jutting from the beast's head. With a grunt he ripped it free and started wiping the blood off on the side of the Tajitu's head.

Dante relaxes upon seeing Myren under the corpse... As though that was actually any better than being partially swallowed. Seeing him stand and move about normally, he nods his head. "I think we're pretty fine. Hopefully, that's the only thing that'll cause trouble." Looking to the forest, he ponders for a few moments before rubbing his forehead. "I'm going to wait here, just in case something else pops its head out. If something happens, I'm let you guys know. Maybe we can work out a few shifts until sunrise. We need to be rested in case something else rears its ugly head."

Yin sighed, wiping the blood off his blade onto the grass. He twirled his blades a few times before sheathing them, "I guess we're camping then?" He asked, "Sounds good to me." He looked around and, seeing nothing but grass, trees, and a really big dead snake, said, "I'll keep you company, let Myren and Zwei get some shut eye." And to make sure you don't bloody fall asleep on the job.

Zwei would have gladly volunteered to stay awake. He opened his mouth to volunteer but Yin managed to speak up before him. He saw no point in arguing and nodded "We are sleeping in shifts then?" he spoke to confirm hoping no would call him selfish for not volunteering. He began scanning the area for a suitable place but would not move until Myren did.

"Yeah, that sounds like a plan to me." Myren said as he finished cleaning his sword and returned it to its sheath. he leaned back trying to stretch out and winced as several loud pops could be heard from his back.

Myren and Zwei moved off, leaving Dante and Yin together with the Grimm's remains. They found themselves a small clear patch of ground where they could build a fire or simply pass out.

"I should probably make sure nothing is broken under here" he muttered as he began fiddling with one of the straps holding his armour in place. "Probably gonna bruise like a son of a Grimm"

Dante knew better than to argue at this point. His patience for faunus was wearing thin, but... a promise was a promise. "We'll wake you two up in a few hours," he tells Myren and Zwei as they head off. Looking to Yin, his expression changes dramatically, disdain showing through quite clearly. "I'm hoping I'm just paranoid," he says. Avoiding eye contact, he shifts over another step away from Yin, staring off into the darkness towards the forest.

Yin opened his mouth to say something, but changed his mind. He contented himself with a sigh, then sat down cross-legged in the grass. He let a few moments of silence lapse by before saying, "If you want to get some rest, feel free. You probably can't see very well right now anyway, right?" No point in starting anything right now. Everyone's bound to be tired and agitated.

Zwei waited for a moment before removing his blade (still in its sheathe) from his side and carelessly tossing it into the grass near a small clearing he had made moments earlier. He slowly lowered himself to the ground. For once he was glad he was wearing his mask as it would keep his head warm throughout the night. "Better get some sleep before our shift eh?" he spoke to Myren before laying on the ground and attempting to sleep.

"yeah, probably for the best" Myren mumbled as he pocked and prodded his chest in various places, wincing occasionally. "may have cracked a fraggin' rib" He muttered as he gingerly slid the cuirass back on, just in case something did happen during the night. He set his sword on the ground beside him and sat with his back to a tree.

It's tongue flicked out, tasting the night air.
Prey
It waited, anxious for the feast that would be brought to it, as it had many times before. It was stronger now, and soon it would never have to wait again. but then the air shifted. tainted with the taste of blood and fear. Not the familiar kind of dying prey, this was a new taste. the gatherer had been slain, it had failed. it had become prey itself, lured into a trap by prey-that-was-not-prey.
The beast bristled, a quiet hiss escaping from its mout, and silently stole away. leaving only a small patch of flattened grass as evidence of its vigil, and a whisper of motion through the stalks as it retreated.
