Recent Disturbances - team DYMC + Zwei Carter [closed]

Yin looked over at their team, Alright, time for some action, hopefully. He said, "I'll message you guys when I see something...because I think I'm the only one who can see right now." He then turned to Zwei, "I'll head off to the right, you take the left." Then, "Make sure we don't accidentally kill each other in the darkness, alright?" He said before making his way to the trees.

He reached what he thought was a suitable tree and removed his longer blade. He used his semblance to appear about halfway up the tree before digging his blade into the trunk. He pulled on his blade, flipping his body up onto a thick branch. He settled his back against the trunk and let one leg hang down. This is a good vantage point. He thought. I can see everyone pretty clearly.

Zwei nods at Yins insructions before heading to the left across from where Yin was set up. Sometimes I really wish I was a faunus he thought to himself after tripping over a tree root. He isnt really able to climb trees that well so instead he crouched in a nearby bush and focused. He waited for the signal to innerupt his total focus.

"Don't worry Dante. Just because this thing can take out a building, doesn't mean it can hold a candle to me" Myren smirks, sounding only slightly more confident than he felt. "When Yin calls it out, I'll light it up," indicating the powerful flashlight he'd borrowed from someone in town "and the rest of you cut it down. Nice, and simple."
He turned and moved to the edge of the clearing, beating his blade against nearby trees and bushes, making his position as obvious as possible
"and since no plan survives contact with the enemy, after that we improvise!" He yells over his shoulder.

after about 30 minutes of this, and the mystery attacker failing to make an appearance, the four all feel a sense of unease, as though they were being watched...

Myren throws his hands up in the air, turning and strolling back towards the center of their field.
"Damn thing is either too stupid to go after a free meal, or too smart to attack a damn huntsman." He mutters under his breath, this unspecific feeling of disquiet only frustrating him further.

Yin had been diligently scanning the fields around them. apart from a few birds taking off, He'd seen practically nothing to indicate any danger. Then he felt it. Something was out there, he was sure of it, and with his night eyes, he thought he spotted something that the others had surely missed. a small rustle in the tall grass, not five feet from the edge of their clearing. From there, rising slowly and quietly, Yin could barely make out the shape of a head. angular, black and glossy...

Its prey finally presented it's back, making for an easy kill. the sixty foot long King Tajitu raised it's leading head, preparing for the lightning fast strike that would keep it fed for another few days.

(it may make more sense if Yin posts next... Just saying)

Yin slowly and quietly removed two things, his longer blade from its sheath, and his scroll from his pocket. He raised the device to his head and said, in a voice that was soft but loud enough for the others to hear him, "Something's out there." He told them where it was, "It looks like only one so far, but we'll see. Don't go after it yet, see if it comes after you, Myren." He finished, returning the scroll to his pocket. He slowly got his feet under him, preparing to leap off the tree at any moment. He peered closer, trying to discern any other detail of the dark shape in the grass.

Myren checked his scroll, and froze on the spot. He turned slowly, readying the light in his hand.

All at once, the creature of Grimm struck, throwing the full length of it's body into the clearing. It quickly circled Myren, Hanging it's black head overtop him, while the white head at the other end kept watch for threats.

Myren flicked the light on, lighting up the inside of the scaly prison that had surrounded him. the blinding flash disoriented the beast for a moment before it plunged it's head into the ring it had created.

Dante had waited, braced and ready for combat, trying to keep his attention focused. After all, it's hard to keep anyone's attention when nothing is happening. Then, Yin's voice called out through his scroll, and he took to a kneeling position, eye peering down the sight, scanning over the landscape. "Be ready," he says softly, flipping the safety off. He thought he could see a dark silhouette against the night sky, but he waited for the signal.

"Holy..." Eyeing the lit up portion of the creature, he pulls the trigger, bullets ripping through the air. Every five rounds was a tracer, a line of red zipping swiftly through the air at the target. "Focus fire!" he shouts, slowly approaching while trying to keep the barrel from rising too much. He pauses for a moment as he sees the head shoot downwards, gritting his teeth and beginning to fire again. He wanted to distract the other half of the beast, if at all possible, while Zwei and Yin charged in.

the mass of scales writhed as Dante's bullets found their mark. quickly, the white head spun to face Dante, Hissing menacingly.

Yin launched himself from his perch, using his semblance to quickly close the gap. He drew both his blades and shot towards the black head of the beast. He leapt, once more using his semblance to appear just above it's head. He drove one blade downwards in a stab at its head while slashing at the monster's neck with his other.

Yin finds himself within the coil created by the snake's body. He drives down towards the Tajitu's lowered head, seeing Myren being Pinned down beneath it. His blade pierces the beast's hide, causing it to cry out in a dry rasp. His slash however, glances off the creature's hard scales.

Zwei was sat in the bush until his scroll gave a happy chirp and he heard Yins voice speak over it. He nodded to himself for a moment before the beast revealed itself and it became slightly illuminated due to gunfire. As Dante fired at it and Yin charged in Zwei weighed his options for a second...it was unlikely he would be able to hit the beast when it is this dark so he drew his blade and made a full sprint toward to white head. He couldn’t see as good as Yin could that was obvious be he didnt slow down as he gained on the snake. When he was within range he lunged with all his strength aiming to drive his blade into its eye as he flew past its head. He would then fire his revolver into the beasts empty eye-socket by circling back around.

The white head began to strike at Dante even as Zwei lunged. His blade sparked off its scales but the bullet landed on the edge of its hard, clear eyelid.

the burst of light had dazzled the Tajitu's black head, but that hadn't bought Myren much of an advantage. the creature had struck hard, and fast but its aim had been off. Myren had enough time to raise his sword, deflecting the giant fang slightly off course. this however, hadn't stopped the momentum of the giant head in the slightest. as its fangs sank deep into the earth, Myren was pinned down beneath the snake's jaw, lying on his back with half his body in the beast's mouth. His aura being the only thing preventing it from snatching him, and a sizable chunk of earth up.

after a moment Yin appeared from above, driving a blade into the beast's head. It roared, or would have had most of it's mouth not been full of dirt and huntsman. Myren used the temporary distraction to flick out one of Skorpios' side blades and punch upwards with it, stabbing into the flesh of its mouth.

A mistake. The Leader head had made a mistake. it had been too focused on the hard-shell-dustling making such an inviting target, to notice the soft-stinging-dustlings. now it was surrounded. the Watcher head flicked its tongue out, tasting them all around. Then: noises and stinging from behind. a small-soft dustling with a strange, stinging-fire-machine was advancing towards them. Letting the Leader head deal with its meal, the Watcher hissed its warning to the attacker as it lunged ahead, only to be met mid thrust by another dustling, clawing and stinging at it's eyes. It would deal with the new one in a moment, but for now, it's momentum carried it through towards Dante, mouth open, fangs leading.

The leader head was confused... even dazed as it had been by the dustling's hand-sun, it still managed to catch the hard-shell-dustling in it's jaw. why couldn't it bite down? before beast had time to seriously contemplate this extraordinary event, It felt the bite of another dustling's claw on it's head. It's eyes flicked back, catching sight of a soft-two-clawed dustling stood upon its head. just then, the hard-shell in its mouth began stinging as well. frustrated, the Leader head raised its head off its prey and up high out of the coil prison surrounding it. hissing madly as it twisted and flailed, trying to dislodge the dustling rider, it began constricting itself around the hard-shell.

Dante continued firing, but switched to the white head as soon as it became apparent to him. He saw Yin come in and begin attacking, wondering for a moment where Zwei was. Taking a few steps back, he leapt as the white head struck, the sight of their fourth soaring in catching his eye as he flies through the air. The head slams into the ground, and he begins strafing it to his left, firing at the head, desperately trying to attract its attention, as well as make the best of the magazine.

the white head thrashes about, trying to decide which of its attackers is more pressing. It settles on Dante, who's gun is still peppering it with rounds, and making significantly more noise.

Yin gripped onto the beast's head, just barely keeping his perch on its head, He's angry! Yin thought as his legs flew out over the air. He reigned in his body, managing to keep his legs wrapped around the Tajitu's neck. He felt the creature's scales rubbing the inside of his legs raw. Determined not to let go, he brought his shorter blade up above his head and whipped it down with what speed he could muster, aiming to sink his blade in under the monster's skull.

the dustling's tenacity was infuriating, and it's little claws stung sharp in the the Leader's flesh.

Zwei frowned at his failed attempt to get much attention from the beast. He pressed a button on the hilt of the blade and it split intoba sword and tonfa each crackling with fire and electric dust. He would dash forward again in a second attempt to do any meaningful damage to the beast. Now that the snakes head was busy attempting to toss off Yin he made his way to the soft underbelly and Attempted to stab in and drag his blade along the snake. (pretty much disemboweling a snake)

the black Tajitu head hissed loudly as Zwei cut a deep gash down it's belly. instantly the white head, previously focused on Dante stopped and swiveled to look up at its better half before lunging forward, intent on bashing Zwei away with its nose.

Myren saw Zwei's attack and launched his hookshot up, latching onto some scales a short way down from him. Noticing the white head staring at Zwei while it rose, Myren quickly braced himself as best he could against the great snake.
"Heads up!" He yelled as Zwei continued to fall along the Tajitu's length. As he passed by, Myren reached out, grabbing Zwei by the arm, twisting around, and tossing him back upwards, just as the white head reached them. Myren was bashed to the side, but Zwei was left flying above it as it drove Myren towards the ground.

The leader had never felt this kind of pain. Hot lines of searing pain running down it's body, and throbbing in it's head. as the Watcher came to its aid, removing the dustlings from its torso, it rocked to the side, slamming itself on the ground near Dante and writhing about violently.

Dante soon ran out of ammunition, and was pleased for the short respite from the white head. Ripping the magazine out forcefully, his weapon shifts into the axe form. He was approaching the beast when the other head slammed into the ground near him. Readying his axe, he took a quick roll call, but wasn't quite sure where Myren was. Frag...

"Kick 'em while they're down," he mutters to himself, adjusting his grip and launching himself towards the writhing head. Leaping into the air, he spins, and uses his momentum to come down as hard as he can on the black head of the beast.

Dante's axe sinks deep into the beast's flesh, carving a deep furrow across the side of its neck.

Yin allowed himself to be thrown off, flying a couple yards away from the beast. He flipped in midair, getting his feet down under him, and slid along the ground. His legs burned from the creature's scales, but he gritted his teeth and pushed through the pain. He raised his head to see Dante smashing his axe into the massive beast, Gotta end this. He thought, seeing an opening. He ran at the beast and jumped, using his semblance to vault above its head. He quickly reversed downward, aiming a massive slash near the creature's neck.

Yin's blade slices clean through scales, and the sinewy flesh beneath. He can see the Tajitu try to raise it's head slightly, only for it to fall back down to the dirt...

Zwei who was above the beasts head after being thrown by Myren. As he was above it he waited a moment before reaching the top of his ascent  before firing his entire clip from his revolver into the sky to help reverse his momentum a little before switching back into a blade and holding it in front of him aiming to drive his blade right through the beasts tough scales and bones and impale its brain on his blade using his own combined weight along with his momentum.

Zwei lands just as the beast hits the ground. his blade sinks into the creature's skull, right to the hilt.

as the three combined strikes of Dante, Yin and Zwei all land, mere moments from one another, the entire length of the Tajitu begins convulsing violently. after a moment its tremors still, and all is quiet.

several moment pass before the trio make a realization.. where the frag is Myren?
a muffled sound can be heard from the impaled remains of the white snake head.

Pulling the axe out from the grimm's body, he couldn't help but smile at the convulsing length of the beast, finding an odd pleasure in the pain it must've experienced. After everything stopped, he let out a sigh, slipping a thin clip into the length of his axe, completing its form once more. "Zwei, Yin... Where's Myren?" Looking around for the mystery sound, he made his way over to the white head, putting his weapon back in its holster. "Cover me, now," he says, using his hands and a foot, working to pry the mouth open. "This better be the last thing we deal with," he mutters to himself.

Dante manages to open the beast's gaping maw a small bit. from it, a nauseating stench poors forth, and a small stream of the ichor that the creatures of Grimm call blood pours out. inside, everything appears normal. one of its top fangs appears to have been chipped, leaving it blunted, but the bottom three appear fine.

wait.

three? 
upon closer inspection, the trio would observe that what may have looked like a bloodsoaked fang jutting from the creatures lower jaw was instead a somewhat familiar broadsword which had been run through from beneath.

Yin chuckled to himself quietly, "Frag. He must be under there." He said, moving over to the beast's head. He placed his hands underneath the beast's head, looking at Dante, "Alright now, on three. One, two, three!" He said, the last number cut short by the strain on him as he heaved with all his strength to try to lift the limp head from the ground.

as the weight of the Tajitu is lifted, the group can see and hear Myren pushing from beneath. with a heave, they manage to slide the head off of Myren's prone form.

Breathing heavily as he leaned up onto his elbows. Myren spared a glance at the massive head sitting next to him.
"damn thing was more dangerous dead than alive..." He muttered before flopping onto his back.
