A Weekend at the Evans Household [Closed]

((The following events take place approximately two months after Skin Condition. The thread's participants are: Shem Drakur, Indigo Evans, and Petra Evans))

A low hum of engines fills the ears of the dozen passengers of the small airship. The lights are dimmed as the craft floats over the countryside of Vale, many of its passengers are asleep in their seats. Among those asleep, are Petra Evans, her arms crossed as she sleeps sitting up. Across from her, Indigo lies with her head on Shem's lap, reading a book with her braid undone, enjoying Shem petting her head. A metallic voice says over the intercom, "Attention passengers. We will be arriving at our destination in approximately five hours."

Shem continues petting Indigo's head and sighs. "Five hours? Great." He rests his head on the back of the seat, a little bored. "You sure that me coming home with you is ok?"

Indigo looks up from her book. "We've been on this ship almost four hours. Don't you dare start having second thoughts now, we can't turn back anyway." She shifts slightly in her seat. "Besides, Petra doesn't hate you. That's a good sign!"

Shem looks down at her and smiles then across at Petra. "I hope youre right, Indy...I just hope the others like me too." He looks back down into Indigo's eyes then rests his head back on his seat.

Indigo closes her book, marking the page. She smiles at Shem before turning on her side and closing her eyes. "You should get some sleep. We've got a long day ahead of us tomorrow." Across the hall, Petra grumbles in her sleep.

"Eh" Shem shrugs, He hated flying. He rather have taken his new motorcycle, Sleiphnir. He was glad, though that the airship crew allowed him to bring Gleipnir aboard with him, well in the baggage claim. He looks at Petra and wonders, for such a awesome smith, what she would think of his sword. He looks back down at Indigo and smiles while petting her hair. "Yeah...long day..." He reclines the chair and rests his eyes.

((Timeskip to landing))

The airship shakes and groans as in docks in the landing station. Passengers begin to shift around the cabin, grabbing luggage and exiting the ship. Petra, who was awake the past few hours strikes a pole next to the couple with her hammer hand, causing a loud clanging sound. The sound causes Indigo to jump awake, and fall off her seat.

Shem jumps, bringing his seat back to the regular position rather quickly. He looks at Petra. "You find enjoyment in that, dont you..." He stands up and helps Indigo up as well and gestures the "ladies first" motion for them to go get their luggage. As they go outside to grab their bags from the storage, Shem runs up to the attendant comes back with the girl's bags, his backpack, and Gleipnir.

Indigo takes her duffel bag from Shem and slings it across her back. Petra grabs her carry-on bag and props it over her shoulder. "So, anyone see our ride?"

Shem looks around, "What exactly are we looking for?"

"A car." Petra said plainly. As the group looked around eventually Indigo spots a short bearded man, toting a sign that reads "Evans" in bold black letters. "Over there!" Indigo points to the stout taxi driver.

"Well that looks like our ride, unless theres another Evans on the flight..." Shem tries to joke but fails horribly. He shrugs and lugs Petra's and his luggage over to the car.

"Evans fam'ly I persume? Come along, bags in theh trunk, bodies in theh seats an' we'll be off." The trunk of the small car pops open and Indigo and Petra drop their luggage in the back. The tiny man hopped into his seat, boosted significantly, and the three squeezed into the back seat, Indigo in the middle.

Shem squeezes in next to Indigo,resting his hand on her leg (as he cant really put it anywhere else. "Correct me if Im wrong but that guy WAS speaking english right? So, how far until we get to your home, ladies?"

"Hold on tight, mates! I got told ta take ya on theh express route!" With no other warning given, the car jolts forward, accelerating quickly. Indigo grabs onto Shem's hand tightly, Petra quickly unscrews her hammer to avoid any accidental bludgeoning.

((Arriving at the house.))

Petra falls out of the side of the car, gasping for air. The trip hadn't taken long, but that's exactly why it was unpleasant. Indigo daintily steps out of the car, stretching as she does so. "Home sweet home." The Evans home is a large, estate-like house, with an enormous front yard, littered with trees. The front of the house stands three stories tall and is painted white with gold trim. On the front porch, a woman with blonde hair and two black curls, dressed in black and gray, leans against the front door.

Shem steps out the car, clearly amazed at the huge house. Compared to Shem's house when he grew up this was HUGE. He was clearly speechless at the immense size of the house. "Th...This is your house, Indy?!" He notices the girl on the porch but thinks nothing of it. Just a family member eagerly waiting for their sisters' arrival? He leans in the trunk and grabs the bags and his weapon.

Petra stands up and takes a deep breath. After collecting her bags, she pays the driver, who drives off like a maniac. "Yep. We moved here when I was six, lived here ever since." Indigo points to the woman on the porch, "That's Sarah. Don't get upset." She slings her bag across her back and begins half leading, half pushing Shem over to the porch.

"Hey what are you doing?!" Shem says as he is pushed by Indigo to the porch. Upon reaching the porch, Shem just stands there, looking at Sarah nervously. He silently waves at her, "H-hello." He gives a small smile.

Sarah lazily looks down at Shem and raises an eyebrow. "So you're the punk that's screwing my sister?" Indigo turns bright red. Sarah looks over to Indigo. "Come on, pipsqueak you can do better than this."

Shem turns red at the first comment and lets out a small chuckle, which ended quickly at her second comment, in which he quickly went to a frown and looked at Indigo. Can she do better?

Petra strolls up to her sisters and Shem. "Come on Sarah, play nice." Sarah bites the air in Petra's direction. "Only speaking the truth." Indigo looked up at Shem giving him a Just go with it look. "Where's Maria? I figured she'd be out here first."

Well this Sarah seems "nice"... Shem thought to himself. He looks back at Sarah and smiles. "Sarah's your name? Nice to meet you, I'm Shem." He waves.

"Right..." Sarah sighs in annoyance. "Might as well come inside, make yourself at home, or whatever." Just then, loud footsteps are heard from inside the house, and the front door bursts open. A woman with a face identical to Sarah's, dressed in a blue skirt and shirt, her hair done in six pig tails. She runs across the porch and somehow grabs Indigo, Petra, and Shem in a bear hug. "I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!"

Shem has no idea what to say or do when apparently Sarah's twin grabs him and the others in a hug. "Um Indy!? Cant.....breath...." He struggles to say under the pressure of the bear hug.

"Maria..! Ribs..! Crushing...!" Indigo choked out. Sarah stops leaning on the wall and pulls Maria away by her ear. "Down girl." The three are released from Maria's death grip.
