A Weekend at the Evans Household [Closed]

Shem has no idea what to say or do when apparently Sarah's twin grabs him and the others in a hug. "Um Indy!? Cant.....breath...." He struggles to say under the pressure of the bear hug.

"Maria..! Ribs..! Crushing...!" Indigo choked out. Sarah stops leaning on the wall and pulls Maria away by her ear. "Down girl." The three are released from Maria's death grip.

Shem falls to the ground holding his chest and breathing heavily. "Nice family you have Indy..." He says between gasps. He stands up and composes himself, "Hello all, my name is Shem, Im glad to meet all of you."

Maria bends down to look Shem in the face, eyeing him intently. After what feels like several minutes, she breaks into a wild smile and begins observing Shem from all angles, questioning him rapid fire. "You're Indy's first boyfriend?! That's so cute~! Where did you meet? What was your first date? Did you have to fight for her? What color was your tie? Did you light candles? What was the music like? Did you have steak or spaghetti? Tell me everything~!"

Shem leans back from the lack of personal space and begins answering her with increased speed to. "I am. Thank you. We met at an arena. I didnt have to fight for her. I didnt wear a tie. I shouldve lit candles. No music was played. No food was there. I was battling someone and she wanted to see my aura so I let her and since then I felt like we were connected in some way, and she was really cute then when she asked me so I couldnt say no. I mean she's cute now too, dont get me wrong. Why am I talking this fast?!"

Maria stands fully upright again, putting her hands on her hips, pouting a little. "That's not very romantic!" Petra spoke up from the back. "Come on, we've got bags ta unpack. Let's get inside." Once inside, the group is treated to the foyer, a large hallway with a white marble floor and a red patterned carpet. A crystal chandelier hangs from the ceiling, illuminating the room with a whitish glow. Four doors in total line the sides of the wide hall and a large wooden staircase begins at the end. Petra begins ascending the staircase to unpack, and says over her shoulder "Shem, I suppose ya can put yer things in Indy's room fer now."

Shem shifts the backpack over his shoulder and adjusts the strap that holds on Gleipnir to his back and looks around the room, still amazed at the huge house. He looks up at Petra ascending the stairs, "Um, Ok, thank you." He looks over to Indigo, "lead the way?"

Sarah sniffs the air. "Burning." Maria lets out a small shriek before running out of the hall into the kitchen. Sarah sighs and follows her, unenthusiastic. "Yeah, sure up this way." Indigo grabs Shem's hand and pulls him along up the stairs.

Shem smiles at Indigo when she grabs his hand and goes up the stairs into her room. He looks around at the sight ((which i think u will describe)) and sets down his bags and sword. "Jeez Indy, Youre place is amazing. Compared to my old home, this place is a palace! and your family is as it like you told me. But they seem cool. Sarah though..." Shem frowns then smiles again. "...hope she'll grow on me!"

Indigo opens the door to her room. The room is painted light blue with white trim along the ceiling. There is a bed with purple sheets in the far corner of the room with a small stuffed lizard lying on the pillow. Several articles of clothing are strewn haphazardly across the floor and shelves. "Thanks. It's one good thing about my mother's ancestry." Indigo tosses her bag casually on the bed and jumps onto it. "Don't worry about Sarah. She's just trying to get to you. Kinda like a test. She may or may not challenge you to a fight though, just a heads up."

"Well good thing I brought Gleipnir then." Shem laughs as he sits on the corner of the bed. "Hey Indy...Ragnarok has been quiet lately...you think that's weird?"

"No, I'm serious, she and Maria are bounty hunters. Sarah loves fighting people." Indigo twisted on the bed to have her head facing Shem. "I wish I could tell. Truth be told, I've been feeling a lot weaker since I lost my scales. I can barely sense anyone I'm not familiar with."

Shem frowns and leans in and kisses Indigo. "You will get your powers back, I'm sure. I'm glad I'm here though. I hope I made a good first impression. Never met the family before." Shem lets out a laugh.

"Hey come back down here!" "I did not wait in a cramped airship for seven hours for a little peck." Indigo pulls Shem back down. "Ahem."

Shem senses someone near by and breaks the kiss. "We....um...we have company Indy.." Shem turns beat red.

Indigo sits up faster than what should be humanly possible and turns red. "Sarah! Can't you knock!" Maria pokes her head over the frame of the door. Sarah spins Crash, a Dual-headed mace in her hand, staring at Shem. Maria giggles at the couple. "Dinner time!"

Shem looks over to Indigo still bright red and whispers, "She's going to kill me....isnt she?" He stands up and opens his backpack, "Should I change? Do I look alright?" He looks at himself in the mirror, wearing his normal attire with his labcoat.

Sarah and Maria leave down the stairs, Sarah giving Shem a glare before following her twin. "She either hates you or has the hots for you. I'm more inclined to believe she hates you. Mostly because the other option is weird." Indigo hops off the bed and gives Shem a once over. "You look fine, It's just a little dinner. Don't look so scared. If Sarah really is testing you, you'll do more harm than good looking all embarrassed."

Shem's looks at Indigo, "I'll try" He smiles. "Sucks that Ragnarok decides to be quiet now, could use some of that bravery of his."

Shem holds Indigo's hand and lets her lead him to the dinner table.

The dinning room is lit by a large chandelier and dozens of candles. The long wooden table could easily seat over fifteen people comfortably, but tonight only seats five. Shem and Indigo sit across from each other, Petra sits on one end, and the twins sit across from each other, Sarah sitting next to Indigo. Maria has prepared a roast chicken, several dinner rolls, some of which are burned lightly, and a medley of vegetables.

"This looks delicious, Maria. Better cooking then what my dad used to make." He looks up from his plate and looks at the girls, "Thank you again for having me here, I really appreciate it." He looks over to Indigo and smiles, clearly noticing that Sarah is staring him down.

Indigo gives Shem a half smile through a mouthful. After swallowing, she asks Maria "Where are mom and dad, anyway?" Maria looks over to Sarah who simply gives her a shrug. "They... Went on an emergency trip... They tried calling the school but you had already left by then."

Shem takes a bite of the food and looks at Sarah. "I hope everything is ok...So what does everyone do?" He asks everyone, trying to spark a conversation.

Sarah tears the meat off a chicken leg. "We find bad people that some other people want dead, and kill them. Then we get paid."

Shem stops eating at looks at Sarah. Making sure not to show fear, he replies. "Must be a messy job, Maybe I should try that job!" Shem looks at Indy with a "NOPE" face for a second.

Sarah laughs wildly. "Oh please! A scrawny little punk like you? You'd get shot your first day!" Across the table, Maria ducks down slightly. Petra bangs her hammer on the table. "Sarah. That's enough."

Shem's face darkens as his eyes flash red. "You'd be surprised..." Shem's face returns to normal with a confused look and looks at Indigo and changes the subject. "Well, Indigo is doing well in school. She helped me a lot with her aura abilities. She saved my life."
