The El*er Scrolls [Event] [Team AMBR]

"That's bad." Robin said, looking to where the Deathstalker had emerged, "Well, they can handle it. David and Axel got some rest so they should be fine, so long as they dodge." Looking around, Robin pointed to the rock outcropping, "There. That looks like a good spot for a sniper. What do you think?"

"Good position and a high point," Byron agrees with a nod of his head, "Course at the right angle the sniper could be in a position where he can see us while we can't see him. That would take quiet an expert though, to find that perfect spot. So how should we proceed this?"

"Well," Robin said, crossing her arms, "Approaching a sniper from the front is suicide, we need to go around without him noticing us, otherwise he'll just start shooting at us." She looked over the landscape, looking for a way to approach without being seen.

Robin notes that the landscape, being quiet heavily forested, will provide reasonable cover most of the way there. There doesn't appear to be any better or worse path to take, however. The canopy is pretty dense in this part of the forest, with the exception of the clearing Team Amber and the temple are in.

Axel ran. "I hope it doesn't mess up those runners." The Deathstalker stepped on the tree branches, cracking them in half. "Of course," he thought to himself. Axel remembered that the Deathstalker's carapace was tough, and it seemed most blades would have trouble damaging it. His chainaxe probably could cut through it, but only with a bit of time, a luxury they did not have. "Only it's stinger and climbs can pierce its carapace," he called out. "Are you fast enough to trick it into stinging itself?"

David thought about this. "My pack has enough juice in it for a few more boost jumps. I might be able to, just tell me when." David hit a button on his back and his flight helm came down. David got into a position for a jump. Axel just had to get it to turn, just a little bit.

The deathstalker was rapidly approaching David, its claws actively snapping in front as it moved forward. No trees remained in its path, not that they were slowing it down that much. Its stinger was somewhat far back, seemingly unprepared for a quick strike against someone. Its left claw extended outward slightly, preparing to grab David.

David used whatever power he had to land on the beast's back. He steadied him self, and held on for dear life, waiting for it to try and hit him with its stinger. Why am I doing this?

As the deathstalker comes close to David, he jumps in the air in an attempt to land on the creatures back. However, his jump looked like it wasn't fast enough, was too late, or perhaps both, as the Deathstalker's claw swiftly flies at David as he is in mid-air, grabbing a hold of him with an awesome strength. The force of the grip makes it nearly impossible for David to move his arms, let alone break free. Almost immediately, the deathstalker raised its stinger high into the air, and brings it down at the pinned student, looking to strike the finishing blow.

Axel saw that David had been grabbed, and he leaped to intervene. He brought his axe in front of David to deflect the first impact before creating an aura shield subsequently, hoping to catch the rest of the impact, given the strength of the Deathstalker would have made it impossible with just Laughter alone. Axel had created the aura shield at an oblique angle, and he hoped that the momentum of the strike from the stinger at that angle would cause it to richochet off the shield back down onto the Grimm's thorax.

Robin calmly observed the situation, "They need some help, but that guy on the radio could take pot shots at us. What do you think Byron?"

"They can handle it," Byron said waving off the scene, "I still have one rpg if you want me to fire it but other then that we should get to our sniper friend. After all, it's not the enemy that you can see that you should worry about. Take my word." Byron pointed a finger at his eye patch with a carefree smile.

Robin nodded, "Heh, I guess you got a point. But still....They really should have ran away. Fire the RPG at it. That should at least damage it a little and get them clear."

"If they don't die in the explosion," Bryon muttered but quickly switched Thanatos to weapon mode and pointed one of the guns at the Death Stalker. The barrel retracted and the bottom opened revealing his last rpg. Taking careful aim, Byron launches the rpg, aiming directly for its head.

The Deathstalker's stinger comes flying down toward David, just as Axel jumped into its path, blocking it with a combination of his weapon and aura. The stinger crashed into Axel with immense strength, knocking him back. And with the angle of the shield being as it is, the tail slid and booped the massive creature in the face. The stinger was just too far in front of the creature's body and head to damage it in anyway. Deathstalker lifted its tail up, preparing for another strike on David now that the obstacle is out of the way... but before it could complete its task, it was distracted by a rocket booping its face again.

Of course, rockets do more than just boop. David was knocked free by the blast, and possibly injured further as well.  The deathstalker's grip on him was released when the rocket struck, and it veered to the side, snapping its claws in the air wildly, and its tail returning to a resting position. It seems stunned by the blast but will recover eventually...

While the Deathstalker was stunned, Axel got up and grabbed David. "Come on, it's time to go" he said urgently. He and David fled into the forest to evade the Deathstalker until they could think of a more suitable plan of attack.

"Well there goes my last explosive," Byron shrugged, "Right then. Let's head for that rock shall we?"

Robin nodded, "Good luck you two!" She called over to the pair, then started for the rock.

David managed to get on his feet. He moved along with Axel. "Good god. Well this has gone well hasn't it. Blown up, shot at, and caught in a bear trap. That's a new record, for injuries in a day."

As Robin and Byron made their way toward the rock, they quickly left the sight of David and Axel, leaving them to defeat the creature they are currently running from. The Deathstalker took a few steps in place as it became reoriented with its surroundings, then turns slightly to face the fleeing students, charging after them. They might be able to outrun it for a while, but the massive Grimm will likely outlast them due to exhaustion and injuries. They'll need a plan, and soon.

Byron glanced back only once in time to see the Deathstalker recover and started giving chase. At the pace the grimm was going compared to the increasingly slowly pace of David and Axel, Byron could tell they didn't have long before it caught up.

Byron stopped for a moment and swung his hand in the direction of the Deathstalker.

His semblance covered a 90 degree arc with a 400 ft radius, the Deathstalker right on a linear path with the bisector.

In front of the Deathstalker appeared an entire platoon a giant titan soldiers clad in armor, each one standing 40 feet tall, armed with massive spears ending with heart shaped spear points. The ground was lined with decapitated heads, each one a different stage of rotting and decay. Behind them was a massive castle of bone and rotting flesh clinging to the walls.

Along walls were pillars, each one with a piece missing at the bottom. There were statues acting as the missing part of each pillars, each one the form of a man crumbling to his knees. trying to hold it up. The statues see,ed strange though as each head was that of a skeleton. One pillar was different. the head was one of a wrinkled head as if the owner had neither eaten or drank for months, bowing down. Suddenly it started moving, looking up with hollow eyes pleading. "Free meeeee~"

Suddenly, exploding the the ground to the left of the Deathstalker is a massive monster floating in the air, decapitated heads thrown left and right. The giant creature made raspy hissing roars at the Deathstalker and lifted its two saws over its head, the blades buzzing to life with a high shrill.

The deathstalker stops rapidly, raising its tail into an agressive position as it steps back and forth, left and right, looking at the army in front of it. As the ground exploded nearby, giving way to a strange creature, Deathstalker turns toward it rapidly, striking at it with its tail but passing through it. It makes a second and third strike toward it, taking some steps back as the monster demonstrated its fierceness.

Ahead of Robin and Byron, the rock formation they are heading toward rapidly approaches. The canopy of the forest provides decent cover for them, but in turn, they have very limited vision on the top of the rocks much of the time.

David had been running, when he saw Jack distracting the large Grimm. He looked over to Axel. "I think I have a plan. We get ahead a bit more, when we do I can set some traps got it." He said with a grenade in his hand. "I can rig grenade traps for him so we can try and damage him. Or at the most make him off balance." He waited for his reaction.

"Alright, then. Lead the way" approved Axel.

David began setting trip mines for when the beast would come after them. he set a variety of them ranging from fire, to frag, to nitro grenades. "That should do it. Now when it attacks we need to be ready to hammer it. Okay?" he said getting into a ambush stance in a tree.

Robin crouched down as she spied the canopy, "We need to get there without being seen. We could use Wonderland again, but that would let him know we're here. Any ideas?"

The Deathstalker had determined through several scientific tests that the monster before it was some kind of trick, as it had no smell, and didn't appear to be able to hurt the creature. It hypothesizes that the creature doesn't actually exist, and is merely there to delay it from its previous task. It sets its test into motion, charging at the creature and passing right through it. Success!

Having made it past its obstacle, it charges past the legion of soldiers, feeling only slight resistance as it crashes through the invisible trees and continues it's hunt.

"Hey." A calm yet familar voice sounds out from behind a nearby tree, as Nathan Khrysos steps out from around it, a massive rifle held pointed toward the ground in front of Robin and Byron. "That stupid ass Wonderland crap is pretty annoying, so I came down here to call a draw because I'm hungry. Also, your teammates are dying. Thought you should know." Nathan takes no action beyond shifting the way he is holding his weapon. He moves his left arm up the barrel, closer to the chamber of the weapon, but maintaining his grip. Still, firing a large rifle the way he is holding it would be difficult to aim.

A scroll is attached to Nathan's hip, active, and displaying an advanced status of Team Amber. Aura levels can be clearly seen, along with some information on who is who, and who is engaged. Currently David and Axel's icons are highlighted in red, likely indicating combat. Their aura levels are also low, but not at dangerous levels... yet.
