A Team Trip to Vale [Closed]

Aphelion approached Marc, sitting on top of Equinox. From his horse's saddle bags, one could see hay sticking out, evidently for Equinox once they get to their destination. Aphelion himself was slowly combing his fingers through Equinox' mane while looking at a notepad he was holding in his other hand. A list of ingredients for his next batch of experiments, from which very careful quantities could be read.

"Hello Marc! I see you have your means of transport ready." said Aphelion, closing the notepad and putting it into his pocket.

"Anyone have room for another? I don't have a means of transport," Ven said as he approached Aphelion and Marc. He was wearing full armor, though he didn't expect he'd need to use it for a long time. He just liked to be ready. Ven looked over his shoulder then back to his teammates. "Well I got this jump pack, but it's not meant for sustained flight."

"Uhh, sure, although I was already worried if Equinox will keep up... and with two we'll definitely lag behind. Perhaps if there were some shortcuts along the road..." he said, half to Drakk and half to himself. He once again made sure his ingredients list had everything on it.

Ven watched as Marc left to go find his teammate. Looking back at Aphelion who asked him if he knew of any shortcuts, he replied "I don't know of any shortcuts." Ven approached Aphelion and reached for the saddle to his steed and grabbed onto it to pull himself up on top of his horse. "I've never ridden a horse before. Majestic creatures, but I've never been on one," he said to his leader as he put one arm around him and used the other to pull out his phone. He scrolled through some pictures and smiled to himself, then a message popped up on his phone and he began replying to the message.

"Nothing beats a horse. You can outrun him, but you can't befriend him. Motors are too rigid, too... dependant on the driver." said Aphelion, stroking Equinox some more, signalling that way to accept Ven and not throw him off.

Ven looks around to see if Marc and Alani are back yet but sees no sign of them. "Does Marc have a thing for Alani? Or does she have a thing for him or somethin'?" Ven asked as he looked back to his leader and puts away his phone.

"Marc loves Alani, but he doesn't know if she loves him. That's why we're gonna lag behind today. I think he's finally gonna ask her out... He better." Aphelion said, folding his arms.

"So where is it where we're going? I might go through some shortcuts and get there with you guys, or perhaps before... Either way, you won't be seeing Equinox on the road behind you." he said, blinking to hide an ever subtle wink to Marc.

"Well boss? You gonna let those scrubs beat us there?" Ven said as he watched his two teammates take off. "We could try cutting across the countryside. They'd have to follow roads, but we can go in a straight line, given we don't cross into private property."

"Private property? We'll tear through it fast enough not to get caught. Atta!" shouted Aphelion, instantly directing Equinox off the road and starting to gallop through the countryside.

"Just didn't know if that was okay with you. I have no problems with it," Ven stated as they started to move.

Aphelion forgot how fun it was to ride at such high speed, not giving a damn about traffic on the road. The excitement got to him and he started singing out loud.

"ROLLING AROUND AT THE SPEED OF SOUND..."
